JC is now my second favorite Aldi. The one place where I actually like the self checkout. The scanners are really sensitive and just a slight delay, so I've scanned some groceries twice and had to get help until I learned the rhythm. It's always crowded and packed here, especially with everyone "working from home." Seems to me a passel of 'em are working from the Aldi aisles and parking lot because they're always here! It's a great location, adjacent to the best barbershop in town (L&M). Without giving up ALL of my secrets, I'll just say that there are less crowded Aldi stores, but they don't have the self checkout option, which is fine because watching Aldi checkout magicians at an Aldi store is something to behold. Preparing to be camped out in the RV for a few days, I stopped at ALDI to pick up ground beef and cheese and burger buns because that's camping food. Oh, and some hot dogs. And more cheese. And eggs. ALDI is great because it's all quality and the prices are super low. Sure, the options are limited and they don't carry many of the name brands you might be used to but it's still good stuff. You'll need to remember to bring a quarter for the shopping cart deposit. And you'll need to remember to bring your own shopping bags (or you can buy theirs). And you'll be bagging your own groceries. But all of that and more is how they keep the prices low. It was a great shop and I'm pleased! Looking for Trader Joe, not available locally, but found this store as a great substitute. Does not have a huge brand selection, but has all the basic items I need in an easy to find attractive simple layout in a smaller store. Better prices and higher quality than Sam's Club or Walmart. I like this store and will be a regular shopper here. read more

I'm always pleased with the product selection and quality when I shop here. The range of snacks, both the delicious European imports and the reliable domestic groceries, are just excellent. The employees are friendly and helpful. Prices are actually reasonable for this terrible economy. Definitely great quality goods for sensible prices. The one and only thing I do not appreciate is the corporate lack of attention to creating a warm and inviting building with a gentle and "human" atmosphere. Every, and I mean every, expense is spared on creating a comfortable environment. That could definitely use some attention. They don't play any music (even German music would be awesome), and the lighting is sparse and depressingly corporate. Efficient employees are forced to rush everyone through like a Kübelwagen assembly line. Again, I'm always glad when I shop here, and I'm a repeat customer, but I would actually spend more time looking for other buys if it wasn't so needlessly hollow and depressing in the background. read more

Aldi was open when I first got here in Aug and then closed for remodel and then reopened on Oct 5. It's big and beautiful but a lot of the normal stock was out of stock - sugar, can pumpkin, things that I buy year round, i guess cause they were closed for remodeling people were crazy when they reopened. Love Aldi - went there almost weekly when we lived in FL but now it's a little further so have to rethink fresh veggies if you don't want to drive half-hour every week for groceries. read more

I LOVE this store. I don't do my grocery shopping anywhere else. The prices on produce is so cheap, yet they're such great quality. In most stores I've come to find most produce is left out or isn't changed as recently and they get moldy or bruised, however; at Aldi, they have the MOST fresh produce in a grocery store I've discovered. Puts other stores to shame. The staff is friendly and helpful, too, which is a nice bonus. I tend to get overwhelmed and need help sometimes, and they're always so friendly about it! A really awesome store. Awesome prices on basics like milk, bread, butter, spices, eggs. Almost everything is off brand, but still good quality. They have all the basics to make a decent meal but cleaning supplies and pet supplies are limited. There is also an aisle of oddities like games and rotisseries. Yummy munchies and frozen convenience foods like chicken nuggets, frozen pizza and lasagna. Yes, you have to pay a quarter deposit for your buggy and you must bring your own bags, but the savings make it worth it. I also love how they allow their cashiers to sit. So sensible. It seems to make them happier and faster. Nice wide aisles so there's no traffic jams. The only unhappiness I experienced as Aldi was the spice racks. Seriously, you need an engineering degree to figure out how to remove a container of spices. I really love this store. Oh and they have the cheapest prices for kcups I've ever seen. Off brand, yes. Half the price of other places. read more

This place is the bomb! On a budget? Aldi is the place to stretch your nickel. The quality is wonderful. The staff are very nice and helpful. I can take a hundred dollars and stock my pantry very well. Love this place. No wonder Walmart, Kroger, and Food City are worried about this place. read more

I've bought about 2/3 of my food here since they opened. It's a good store for many things. Good prices that beat most other stores. Most of their employees can be real immature jerks. I've complained to their corporate offices about them and it didn't do much good. Their employees are spineless puppets and my feedback of their store will reflect it. If not for that I'd give the store 3 or 4 stars. read more

I thought it was just me but I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I've been going to Aldi for years and when this one opened in Johnson City, I was so happy. But for the past couple of months, there's been a drastic change. They're always out of everything....the produce and dairy departments are a joke. The Willow brand toilet paper is never in stock. I asked one of the workers several weeks ago why their selection was so sparse and she said they were switching vendors, but that things would improve. I've not seen any change, and yet, when I hear about other Aldi stores in the area, everyone says the food selection is great. It's very disappointing. read more

Regularly out of most common items. Always out of items on sale. I have been shopping here for years and the last year or so has been the worst ever. I always have to make a separate trip to another local store to find all common items I need. I just installed this app to post this review alone. It is my first. I would not recommend aldi to anyone now. It has snowballed downhill for a long time. Don't waste your time going to two stores. Just go on to food city or ingles instead to get everything you want/need and pay an extra buck or two. You'll spend it on gas going to two stores anyway because aldi won't have it in stock more than likely. read more

I agree with the some of the previous feedback. They are always out of items, or buy it once or twice and NEVER see it again. I tried 2 stores for a container of yogurt, not at all cost effective for the consumer. The staff is friendly, store is clean, but sadly the items are just not there. Aldi's needs to step up their ordering process !!! read more

Usually I am happy with Aldi"s..tonight left a bad taste in my mouth. They didn't take my 10.00 coupon off (my fault). When I asked if they could take it they stated that we would have to refund 40.00 and than re-ring the 40.00...that is bad customer service...told them NO THANK YOU. I ask an associate if they had the advertised chicken (he said what chicken) oh that was gone before I got here. I think he was annoyed by my question. Very disappointed!!!!! read more

I don't get to Aldi's very often, as it is across town for me. But sometimes I see something in their ad that makes me make the trip. This week it was mangos and avocado for .49 and eggs for .69. The eggs they sell are from chickens fed "Grains from our local farm" and "No Growth Hormones". Most other products are also healthier--no MSG (even cream of chicken and mushroom soup), no high fructose corn syrup, etc. Bring extra bags, as you'll find more great deals than you plan to buy! read more

went to this Aldi's last night because I was out of fat free half and half. This morning I discovered it was bad even though the date said 8/3. Called the 800 # on their webstite which directs you to email them on a form that askes for bar codes etc. Very annoying. Finally their customer service calls back and I tell her how shocked I was to get bad half and half and how that has never happened at any of the other grocery stores. BTW, I have thrown out bad chicken legs that were full of bloody veins, bad 100% whole wheat bread that was stale and tasted like card board, bad lettuce, bad grapes(when I say bad I mean rotten), and moldy cheese. So the corporate representative tells me they have a twice as nice policy and I can bring the half and half back and get a refund plus get something else for my trouble. Well this store did not honor that and used the excuse that it had to be done in one transaction and it was too late now because the cashier already gave me my refund. Well why wasn't I told that and why wasn't I offered the twice as nice deal since I made two trips to this store in 2 days? She had no answer because they are full of it. I've returned moldy cheese and wasn't offered the twice as nice deal and I returned grapes once. No mention of it ever?? Been shopping there for 3 years and it's getting worse every year. I don't trust the quality. I saw artisan lettuce that was all brown and rotten and had to go to another store for my lettuce. What a royal pain. Told them you will never see me in your store ever again because I don't like being lied too and not because of the bad half and half. I don't do business with liars read more
