I had a very frustrating experience at Walmart TRC. As an adult with a valid government-issued ID, I attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages and was unexpectedly refused service because three other adults accompanying me did not have their IDs available. The employees stated this was "store policy," but when we respectfully asked to see the policy, the store manager later described it as a "preference" rather than an actual written policy. The conflicting explanations were confusing and made the situation even more frustrating. I understand and support responsible alcohol sales and compliance with age-verification laws. However, if a store is going to deny a legal purchase, customers should be given a clear, consistent explanation and be able to review the policy being enforced. The lack of transparency and inconsistent communication from management left a poor impression. I hope Walmart TRC provides better training and clearer guidance so customers are treated fairly and receive accurate information in the future. read more

I should have known better than to stop at a big box store in a small town. I went in to grab some drinks for a party by the lake but this place did not have what I was looking for so I got something else. They have the smallest beverage section of any Walmart I have been to. This place was full of old people totally oblivious to their surroundings. I got hit and nearly hit by half a dozen seniors pushing their carts or driving one of those motorized carts. They were not paying attention to where they were going or they just did not care. Then another one cut in front of me and everyone else in line at the self checkout lane and the employee on duty did nothing to stop them. I shop here once or twice a week, and have all my automotive services done here. I occasionally shop at the Walmart in Las Cruces or El Paso. I mention this because I see these 1 star reviews recently and they're all bogus. I see the same regular Walmart salespeople all the time-They are all friendly and willing to help. This is a mainly retirement town, so if you don't like shopping around seniors, go someplace else-I find them to be nice polite people. Maybe these reviewers belong in a big city Walmart where you better be holding on to your wallet the whole time you're shopping with all those "wonderful" young people who look like they live on the street. Not in this Walmart. I use the auto center regularly and stroll outside while they work on my car: the bays are usually open because it's warm and I can see them working on my car efficiently and professionally the whole time-Never any problems. If you have problems with our auto department, I suggest the problem is You or your attitude. People come in from out of town and leave a bad 1 star review because of all our seniors shopping: Walmart posts the busiest times for shopping-read them, or better yet, Go someplace else. This is a Nice Walmart, with Nice people and Nice customers. Please go shop somewhere else if you don't like it, or better yet, Don't come to our Nice little town. read more

I recently visited the Auto Center to have the Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors checked. Found that only 1 of 4 had been changed, not all 4 per request. Again, asked that they all be changed. Again, they changed 2 of 4. When I brought this to their attention, I was met with threats of bodily harm. I bet the manager doesn't do anything. read more

This Walmart is, unfortunately, one of the worst in New Mexico. We had to order a new tire for my wife's car and the tire was under warranty. It has been over two weeks since the order was supposedly placed and, in the meantime, she has been pretty much stuck at home since the "donut" tire isn't really that safe. The first time the tire was "ordered" it never happened. After a week we went in and were told the order had been cancelled and it was probably the card we paid by. We double checked and it was not. The tire was then reordered and a week later we are still waiting and have been told the tire is in El Paso where it has been for a week. We've been jerked around and told by the store that WE need to call El Paso, WE need to see if other Walmarts might have the tire, etc. The onus has been put on us to try and solve their customer service problem. We finally cancelled today and will attempt to find another place to get the tire which we will have to pay for since T or C Walmart can't seem to get their "stuff" together. Oh, and now we have to go in and use some bar code so they will refund the money we had to pay with the understanding it would be credited once the tire came in. And people ask me why we go to Cruces for everything. read more

Incompetent pharmacist as well as pharmacy staff. Tried to tell me the Dr that ordered in my medications was not licensed, which resulted in me not getting my much needed medication. After hours of phone calls between the Dr and the pharmacy, turns out the pharmacy was the one who didn't have their records straight. The pharmacist was sexist, belittling and threatening. Be warned of the total and complete lack of intelligence of this pharmacist and staff. read more

I recently purchased "Dickies Dri-Tech performance work socks" because they list that they're 74% cotton. The rest of the sock is polyester etc. which I don't care for. I hate polyester and spandex etc. but 90+% cotton socks are impossible to find anymore. That said, if you buy these socks the tops will have to be cut off because they strangle your calves. I let them down around my ankles and they strangled them also. Walmart didn't give me the option to comment so----- here I am. read more

This is our go-to in the TorC and Elephant Butte area. Not only do they have clean restrooms by the front when you've been driving and NEED a bathroom, they also have covered parking for everyone. I've never seen that for a Walmart before! We also like to stop here to make an affordable picnic with plenty of snacks for the lake. Are the kids (or wife) suddenly demanding lake toys? Walmart is always fully stocked with great prices! And they always have a great variety of sunscreen! The workers are often great but have their off days too. For the most part, we have just had great experiences. I was actually sad that we already had our Christmas tree because they had beautiful live trees on sale for just $19 each! Especially for the size of this small town I think this Walmart is terrific. They have all the organic produce and eggs and shredded cheddar I have ever wanted, plus no hormone chicken thighs, lots of olive varieties, frozen red chile, wasa crackers, nut varieties, wines, delicious Great Value green curry kits, plus everything I have ever needed immediately to camp, too. And the more than adequate parking lot is covered by solar panels, too. The employees and Walmart truckers worked all through the pandemic to serve their community. I thought this may have been the cleanest Walmart I'd ever been in. The people were friendly and the staff even took a few minutes to talk with me to ask more about where I was from. I was happy to find water at a great price (I'm used to getting gouged when on vacation). It was not far from where I was staying either, so that was nice too. Parking was extremely easy too. If you need to stop in a Walmart when you're in T or C, this is the place! read more

I am sorry I had to even give one star to the Walmart in Truth or Consequences. The woman who run the discount aisle looks like an old used up biker chick and snarled at me when I asked a question. She started talking on her phone using foul language. Prices are not marked many items and there is no one in the store to help. I had a shirt taken away from me at the counter because they said it should have been removed from the floor. They also sell produce that goes bad in a day and the packaged salad is already rotting. I would advise people to shop at their local grocer and amazon. read more

We came in for a oil change & the supervisor Ruben has such bad attitude it seemed like he was really unhappy on top of that he is so lazy !!!!! He was just walking around and letting his co worker do everything (Jose) as soon as a customer would walk in he would screamed "JOSE" ...... without even trying to help the customer I felt bad for Jose he was doing our oil change,answering phones & helping other customer choose some tires ! Ruben left for 10 minutes to walk around the store and when he finally came back he told Jose that he was leaving for his lunch break !!! What????!!!! How is he the supervisor ? A wonderful store with friendly,helpful employees. Clean, well-stocked. The pharmacy is a godsend, with informative and helpful pharmacists. Covid has provided challenges for all, but our Walmart is on top of it. Excellent management. Our town always complains about our Walmart, saying they have put small businesses out of business here.The truth is that they provide what our town could have never provided, as well as employment to many. The closest big box stores are 70+ miles away. As far as we are concerned, the quality and convenience of our Walmart is the best thing about living in Truth or consequences NM. This review is late coming, but here goes! In September of 2009, my now-husband-then-boyfriend and my sister were traveling back to Arizona from a visit to Indiana. We got stuck in a rainstorm after eating at Denny's here in Truth or Consequences. So, we went to Wal-Mart to wait it out. This store was clean and wasn't crowded at all! The number one reason I hate going to Wal-Mart is that it's ALWAYS packed. Granted, we were here at about midnight (or later, it's been awhile), I really appreciated being able to wander the aisles without a crowd or people stocking and blocking the aisles (employees). If ever I find myself in this part of New Mexico again, I'd come back into Wal-Mart. I actually found a few good deals here while waiting for the storm to pass. read more

This walmart is clearly the best in the country. Super clean, organized and well stocked. Went with the entire family for a gallon of ice cream and ended up with an assortment of items we didn't even come for ....space print yoga pants, skeleton earrings, room deodorizer, hair ties and bananas. The sales clerk was so pleasant. There was no pushing, shoving, or guns so it was a safe and productive visit. Seriously this is the best Walmart experience. read more

Walmart no longer makes Custom Cakes. And I realize this is a company policy now but it sucks. I mean come on Walmart, you're a crappy store anywayand in a lot of arras people have no other choice but to shopat Walmart or drive an hour or two hours away to shop somewhere else. Walmart's not going to be around much longer if they keep cutting services and maintain their crappy service like having 12 checkouts only one or two are open and then you have to do the self-serve checkout. Not to mention Walmart will carry a product for a few months and then all the sudden they don't carry it anymore and refuse to stock it and so a person has to find another brand of an item and hope Walmart doesn't discontinue that also. We live in Albuquerque and have access to many WalMarts, however this is the one we go to the most frequently. It is so much cleaner and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Funny that I can find things in this store that I can't get at home. read more

For the most part the store is clean and the staff is very friendly. However in the men's rest room up towards the front of the store someone took it upon themselves to pull an upper decking in the handicap stall. The family restroom was just as nasty I don't want to mention what is setting in the trash can. Thank God I am only traveling and passing through this town. Great Wal-Mart. Cleanest ive been too and ive never seen employees so friendly and willing to help. Danny helped me get everything i needed overnight, he seemed a little funny, had a very awkward haircut, and seemed a bit out of place, I could very well tell why they put him overnight instead of during the day. Surprisingly, overall he was very friendly and respectful, and helped me find everything i needed and even explained some stuff to me that he didnt need too. I will be shopping there more often because of the excellent customer service, and the cleanliness and overall welcoming feel of the Wal-Mart compared to others. read more

terrible kept 4 grocery items I bought. tried to reach customer service for one hour no one picked up. had to pay to go back to walmart in T or C, custiomer service told me phone never rang. they were looking for frozen cat fish in bins behind desk. I told them even if it was there I did not want that package. not first time I found my groceries incomplete and Ichecked the spindle to see if I had everything before I left but items were on my receipt. sometimes if I added grocery receipt the sum was less p.s.. when I called pharmacy personnel they tried to call them also no one picked up. everyone else very pleasant willing to help. read more
