You see books you've want to read again, books you wanted to buy before and forgot to, books you want to buy now, and books you didn't know you wanted to buy. All this, and you didn't even have to do all that much digging, and you could do a quite a lot of digging, days if left to your own devices or you had more time. I didn't expect the bookseller to become a semblance of a friend over the course of a short visit, but somehow he did. It was weird, yes, but not that weird. If you're afraid of weird, just shop on line, and don't venture outside too much. The world will survive without you.

The door was open and the lights beckoned me in. When I stepped inside the bookshop I was welcomed by a bibliophiles dream: stacks and piles and teetering books lining every surface and the floor. The shop keeper popped out from behind a shelf and asked, "What do you like?" He directed me towards the fantasy section, and left me alone to wander. At the back of the shop I found the art books, and two very informative books about pottery art, which I have struggled to find in my own used bookshops in Tucson! We chatted about my pottery, and the Southwest Print Festival, and he pulled a beautiful printmaking book from the shelf to show me, before I left, feeling absolutely filled, and two books richer.

The owner was exceedingly kind and helpful and deserves your money. The nonfiction and philosophy sections also looked well-stocked from what I could tell.

I could spend hours in a place like this, and I have. Usually find things I didn't even know I needed. I try 9 out of 10 times to buy used books from a local source. Twisting and turning through a maze of rooms that all seem to lead to another, I kept finding something new to look at.
