They have your kitchen needs as well, but keep in mind it's not a full blown culinary store by any means. I like The Dollar General Store in Eastbrook Plaza, but the State Street location is in shambles. They have basically a lot of things that you would need, (when the items are stocked). Tends to be a lot of new faces when I walk in there each time, so it seems as if they are struggling from a horrible turnover rate. When the store is actually stocked, it's pretty organized, but here lately, they can't keep help nor anything on the shelves. One of the workers are usually eating or not readily available. The floors are always disgusting and in need of a complete restoration. There are little pieces of the tiling missing, so you know it's time for a repair. I don't understand how corporate has allowed this to go on for so long? I remember 2 weeks ago when the store closed early and I knew it wasn't a holiday, but I later found out they ended up closing early because they were short of help. I believe that instead of continuing bad service, it's best to close the store down, remodel, get a new crew, train, and then reopen. I believe it will be better maintained, and the customers will have a much better appreciation for the store!

There is always a sale on meats. This is a great time to stock up your freezer. The store is always clean and inviting. They do a great job on placement of items. It's easy to find items, unlike your typical box stores. The reason for four star is some items are higher priced than your typical box store. I believe if they were a little more competitive on price they would possibly increase their sales.

Today, my order was ready five minutes after I submitted my order. The walleye is so good!! I only wish that walleye season was longer because it is only offered for a few short weeks in February and March. I also splurged and ordered a hot fudge sundae with marshmallow! Delicious! My order is always correct and always freshly made to order.

It has all kinds of tchotchkes, doodads, baubles, trinkets and other old and unique miscellany. The store is separated into booths, and there are different things in each booth. I saw all kinds of things that I wanted, but I had to physically stop myself from buying some of the vintage milk glass mugs. No one needs a milk glass mug with a buffalo on it, but the heart wants what the heart wants, sometimes. If you leave the main building and walk outside, and then turn to the right, you will see the second building: Route 46 Vintage. This vintage store deserves its own review, so you can read my separate review for that. But I'll just say that this is where you'll find funky vintage clothing and accessories. Then, there's a little shed-looking building that has more antiques and fun stuff, and also handmade goods from local artisans. Basically, the Brown County Antique Mall is a little campus full of eclectic treasures. You can definitely spend an hour or so here (or more!) looking through all of the stuff and buying all the things.

So we are definitely going back to this shop to check out what we missed and to see what new items were added by the vendors. The building we did see was a good size and the variety abounds. I love costume jewelry and was able to find several pieces that I liked and I brought home. There were big outdoor items on the front porch when we walked up. The place is right on the highway and easy to get to with adequate parking. The prices in the booths varied greatly with some being very reasonable and some I thought were high but I think that is the same as most antique/vintage stores of this type. We had a lot of fun shopping there and when we checked out the cashier was nice and helpful and told us about a couple store policies that we asked about. After passing the Goat Milk Stuff billboards and signs every time I head north on I-65, I finally…read moregot the chance to stop and check it out. It's really easy to get to GMS right off the interstate, and it's about as quaint as you could imagine. I pulled into the parking lot, past a large, fenced-in pasture filled with -- you guessed it -- goats! And I started in the front building, right off the parking lot, which sells goat milk soaps and other wonderfully scented products. The walls were lined with soaps of so many scents. I ended up going with two to give as gifts. I was impressed with the price too: $6 each. They also carried lotion and other skin care products. Next I went around back to the other building, where the food is kept. The delicious, delicious food. Here you'll find gelato, yogurt and cheese as well as great options for lunch. When I stopped the special was pizza. I wish I would have had enough time to eat, but instead I bought some of the chevre goat milk cheese and feta marinated in herbs de Provence to bring home with me. Also add to my wish list that I wish I could have had time to go on a tour of the property. I'll have to do that the next time I travel north through Indiana.
