That's important because who wants to be choking due to it being too tight! He also had me try on a black fitted vest which at the time fit perfect. When I picked up my rented tux from him the day before my wedding, I felt confident in him and my rental. After all, it's his job, right? On the morning of my wedding as I took out my tux, the long sleeve off white shirt was so dirty that it had obvious dirt on the inside of the collar and it smelled like someone's old cologne!! So gross! Then tried putting on my vest, but it didn't fit because it was a size small. I'm a size large all day long. Jose failed at properly organizing my order, he failed on cleanliness of the tux and I'm crushed at the fact I couldn't look nice for my special wedding day by not being able to button up my shirt at the neck or wear the vest that I was hoping to wear. He talks fast and rushed around while trying to fit me. Almost like time is money and my time wasn't valuable. I've been coming to this store since the mid-nineties. It has changed quite a bit, but not…read morenecessarily for the better. I remember coming here about fifteen years ago. And it was a very big store with many different rooms. It seems that somehow they reduced the size of the building. In the past, they had a lot more in the way of unique gifts and country type items, antiques as well as cookies and candies. They still have some of those things, but it seems like it really it has been toned down quite a bit. I also remember in the past there was an old firehouse outside nearby, and I think they renovated it. And turned it into an empty building, which resembles the same building as the country store. My friend ended up buying a bar of lavender soap and I bought a couple of bags of netties kettle corn. The staff was friendly and helpful. We found the prices to be a little bit on the steep side.

ALL MEN SHOULD WEAR CUSTOM CLOTHES! I wanted to get…read moresomething special for my dad. He started a new career later in life and was nervous about the transition. He's never been much of a clothes guy, so he was initially reluctant when made the appointment w/Chris. He was worried about the cost too. Chris was awesome! Completely professional; dressed in J. HILBURN himself. Seeing the clothes in person really makes them hard to resist! He took the measurements & was able to engage my dad in a conversation about menswear that really seemed to change his perspective. My dad's a big guy, so he was concerned the clothes wouldn't fit, but Chris assured him that he could make it work, particularly since JH has recently expanded their big & tall repertoire. The final product was unbelievable! Even better than we expected! The cut, color, and fabric is so soft and polished-looking. The fabric swatches don't do these clothes justice! We were able to design the cut on the collar , sleeves, the back and shirt bottom. Then we customized buttons and stitching - who knew so many options went into a simple shirt?! Anyway, my dad looked fantastic in the finished product. He even looked about 20lbs slimmer! What's not to love about that. Chris was nice enough to slip in a couple of ties to match as a generous bonus! I could physically see my dad's affect change when he put these clothes on. He said he definitely felt more confident - even he was surprised! I will definitely be back for more...gotta get some pants to go with the shirts! If anyone thinks custom fit is unaffordable, I say "don't knock it til you try it!" Just start with 1 piece (around $110). Now I find myself paying attention to how men dress. You van really spot the difference between off the rack & custom! My own husband is up next!
