Date of incident Sat afternoon April 25, 2026 Walmart store 2497 I'll start by saying I'm a 64 year old disabled father of 3 daughters and Grandfather of 6. All of my daughters are happily married homeowners with income well into 6 figures as are me and my wife. Not once have I committed a crime in my life even so much as a misdemeanor! On the date above, my wife and 2 of our grandchildren visited this store. For the most part, everyone was kind and helpful. My wife (also disabled) was in a motorized scooter and had our Grandkids with her. I went on my own using a knee roller due to having an ankle injury that prevents me from walking. This mechanism requires both hands to steer and has a carrying bag in front. I was retrieving certain items, placing them in the bag and bringing them to my wife for final purchase. For instance an Apple phone charger a kind gentleman in electronics helped me find and had no issue with my storing it in the bag. As we were preparing to leave I picked up 2 small bottles of craft paint at .56 cents each. .56 CENTS NOT DOLLARS. I put them in my bag and went to find my wife for final ring up. She was further along than I thought and at the register. When I approached, she asked me to pull the car to the front door because it was raining out. It was at that instant that my mind skipped and forgot about those 2 paint bottles. On the way out the door I was stopped by 2 asset protection employees and it was then that it occurred I was walking out without paying the 1.12 for the merch. The employees were a man and woman. I tried to explain to the woman this was a mental error on my part but she was having none of it! I was directed to a small room across from customer service. I tried to tell her my disabled wife and grandkids were back there to which her rude response was "they'll be fine". When I sat in that room, I was looked at, spoken to and disrespected like a common criminal. I again tried to explain the situation, and told these people 5 Times, to go ahead and call the police and I'll be happy to explain to them. The woman refused to do so. Instead she insisted on my ID which I stupidly provided to her. She then informed me she was putting me on a WM watch list for all stores. I've kicked myself since for letting her have my ID and not insisting on a uniformed officer. They kept referring to the paint bottles as "My Merchandise" as to say I was stealing from them personally. Then these people want to make it sound like they are doing me a favor by not calling the cops even though I requested 5 times. When leaving I laughed it off at first as my initial thought was to find my family. Then thinking it over, I'm becoming more and more infuriated. In my personal or professional life, this was one of the most humiliating and disrespectful acts I ever endured. Friends and family I've spoken to agree I have every right to be to feel this way. The following Monday 4/27 I called the WM Corporate office and relayed this incident. I'm also insisting that my name be removed from that watchlist. Corporate advised that I was justified in feeling this way and they would be contacting that store and I would be hearing back soon. As of this writing 4/29 I haven't heard back on that issue, so I'll be contacting Corporate again. I WANT MY NAME OFF THAT LIST! I am NOT letting this slide. Walmart. In a pinch it's a trip.between the classy people, lack of staff, dodging water drip buckets and the general filth. It's a wonderful establishment, please feel the sarcasm. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because they had what I needed. This building is gross, most of the employees treat you like you're a bother. read more

Let me start by saying I don't mind shopping here when I absolutely need to. But a big problem with this walmart store in particular is that a good portion of the customers don't have the slightest clue about super market etiquette . Maybe walmart (corporate) can assist in resolving this issue either by announcing it overhead or signs strategically placed. I bypass shopping here as much as possible because of some of the issues . read more

This is not one of the biggest locations I have been in, but I unlike the one on rt1 in North Brunswick which had a remodel and is huge. But I love the variety of items they have that I can't find at my local food stores such as Shoprite or stop n shop. They have two self check out location on each side of the store which come in handy when you want to get in and out with a few items and don't want to wait long in line. read more

Drove 20 mile roundtrip to buy something that the app showed as in stock only to find they didn't have it. Asked at a service desk and found put that 'limited stock' doesn't mean they only have a few, it means they only have it sometimes, like when there's a full moon! Misleading and extremely annoying! read more

I'm usually a fan of this location. Clean store, overall stocked well. Today, my significant other purchased a tub of potato salad. Granted, he should have checked the expiration/best buy date beforehand but regardless, I was a bit displeased to find it was over a month old. I'm just glad I was able to buy rubbing alcohol again. Other than that it's your typical Walmart, except huge. Very friendly employees at this one though which was rather nice. And yeah it's also a rather LARGE Walmart so make sure to bring your walking shoes with you so you can go ahead and shop and overspend your budget, LOL. Just kidding. I like checking out different Walmarts and this one wasn't bad at all. Definitely bigger than the one in Mansfield. read more

I was at Walmart in Phillipsburg New Jersey today. There was a very elderly gentleman there buying 10 bags of mulch. He asked someone to help him load his truck and I watched them tell him they had nobody to help him he had to do it himself. Their answer was there's only two of us working in this department and we don't have time to help you. Today started off as a horrible experience. I just found that Walmart now delivers grocery to my location, and during this whole pandemic, that's amazing. I was able to find a delivery window for delivery between 8-9 this morning. When 9:30 rolled around and there was no delivery I became concerned. I went to Walmart's website to check my order and it said delivered! It was delivered to the wrong address and the driver didn't call me ahead of dropping it off to the wrong address like he was supposed to. I called the Walmart, and there wasn't much they could do by following the normal protocol. All the could do was refund my money ( in 7-10 business days) and tell me to re-order. But the next delivery window was not for 5 days! So I would be out my money for a week and my food for a week as well. Enter Erin. I don't know her last name, but she felt my pain. She went above and beyond several times. Asking several of her superiors if there was anything else they could do, while explaining the situation. She called me back on her own accord on multiple occasions, and was finally able to share with me that they were going to re-shop my items and deliver them to me today!! Now under normal circumstances, that would seem like the obvious thing to do. But during this COVID-19 crisis, its difficult to get someone on the phone, let alone resolve a problem like this and go through several layers of management for approval. Wasted my time and patience Walmart of Pohatcong. Family of 6 and spend a good amount with you. In fact the other week I dropped $500 easily on back to school. Went back for two things I forgot around 8:45 pm Aug. 27th, come back out to see a glaring mark on the hood of my car. An abrasion but not enough to chip the paint. Permanent nonetheless. I drive to the security guard tucked way off in the corner of the lot were there is no activity and I'm not sure why that's the best spot to patrol and always see them there.. and politely tell him what happened and what to do to see if there is video. Their camera system was within 30ft of my car. Says go inside and speak to customer service "I can't be everywhere at once" - thanks for adding that man.... we both know your over here being slightly more effective than patrolling the loading docks, again like usual... Wait in line for 15 minutes. Then wait for AP. AP went home. Ok I'll call tomorrow. I'm not kidding when I say.. i called three times, waited on hold for over 20 minutes each call because they could not connect me or locate this person. Then proceed to tell me to file a police report. Listen guys, is my car getting damaged in your parking lot on tape? I tried to find out that night and the following days repeatedly. August 27th - outside the middle entrance/exit, straight ahead three spots past the stall on the right side. 8:45-9pm. I really don't like my time being wasted for something you obviously have contingencies for. I will take my business to target for everything since you can't keep your clientele in order and employees willing to lift a finger to help relay a message. No call back after all that. read more

READ READ READ ********** Absolutely awful service . My wife had Wic checks and because the checks were already signed prior to coming to facility she was turned away when we needed formula and milk! The cashier / managers name was DIANE. She refused and once explaining we were told to by WIC because of covid-19 to sign checks prior to going to facility to minimize contact . She denied us getting any of the WIC transactions. She has been there for years I see her often she is very unpleasant to her staff and customers I honestly don't know how she kept this job for so long.... Also Walmart update your Management team you are absolutely allowed to accept wic checks with out id folder as long as it was reported to WIC them selves. You need just a license and or a valid form of id. They even said a credit card with the name of person on check is validation with signature . This world is going through a freaking crisis and you turn people away who need formula and food? shame on you and this facility. DONT GO TO THIS WALMART AT ALL. My husband is a truck driver and I'm his passengers for the holidays and we needed to make a quick 10 minute in and out run to this Walmart. We were just going to go in for pads I'm a woman in my period and I needed pads cuz I used my last one so we parked not even 5 minutes later a security guard pulls up so my husband gets out to say we will only be parked here for a few minutes and the security guard said don't be a ass and move your truck. Like wtf do you think truck drivers can just get in and out of places easy... like really we go to Walmart for food and supplies.. and this trip was only for pads..The security officer was very rude and very unprofessional using profanity. If he greeted us nicely and said we couldn't park there we would of just asked if I could run in to get pads if he said no we would of left but instead he had to be unprofessional. read more

Horrible garden center. They have more dried out dead flower than live ones, and they are priced outrageous too (for even the dead ones). Big signs hanging on shelving for directions to "Water when dry". Still dried out. I felt so bad for those poor plants I was looking for a watering hose to help them out. At least when one goes to the other stores they have folks walking around taking care of the plants. Then they sell the mess pot replacements without the pots! What a crock of laughs this store is. Whenever I do get up my courage to shop here, I must bring my good humor along as one needs it to survive here. I do feel badly for the few really good employees they have working in store as they do try to make a difference, ie. checking stock without you even asking. There is one young guy back in automotive area that really needs to go. Rude and unhelpful at all times. Just on the brink of down right nasty! read more

Compared to other Wal-Mart's it's not bad. There's no tire center. But it's larger, has fresh food. A large variety. This store rocked on Black Friday. We got our promo items with no line, we were in and out in 15 min. read more

The good: The store is fairly clean. Most of the time there is plenty of inventory, and things are usually stacked nicely on the shelves. The okay: There is usually plenty of parking. The pharmacy people are usually pretty quick, and you can't beat their prices. The bad: There are times when I wonder if anyone works there. Not just at the registers, but anywhere in the store. If you need help finding something, good luck! When I order photos online for store pickup, I end up waiting there forever. Need a fishing license, you're going to wait forever. I usually end up calling the store while I'm there, and asking them to send someone over ...still takes forever. Wrap up: It's a Walmart, you pretty much know what to expect. However, the ones in Nazareth, Clinton, Flemington, and Branchburg always seem to have plenty of people working. As Walmarts go, it's a good store, but the lack of employees means you can't get in and out without budgeting plenty of time. Open 24hrs! Clean atmosphere. Needs a little more staff. I don't buy my meats and produce here though! This is my practice will all "supercenters". But I had someone visiting me who went to buy chicken here and when we picked one up a ton of liquid came out of the shrink wrap and it REEEEEEKED of FISH!!!!! EEEEEEEWWWW. I RAN many isles to get some clorox wipes for our hands! The smell lingered...iik. So I ignore the food area and things are just peachy. Haven't used the pharmacy. Don't plan to. The old walmart was miserable, dirty, poor customer service and overall just crap. So when they were building the new Super Walmart, I was very excited. Walmart does have the best prices. The new store has been here for a few years now and has turned into exactly what the old walmart was. The workers are miserable. They don't care and it shows in their attitude and appearance. The place is a mess with items all over the place. I get a headache when I go in there. I gladly pay the extra money and go over to Target where its stress free and the associates are clean and friendly. read more

Phillipsburg NJ Walmart has Absolutely terrible customer service! On more than one occasion I was cursed out by a member of management. I purchased an item and when I got to my car to unload my groceries I realized that I bought the wrong one. I asked for an exchange and the cashier said they no longer offer exchanges. I was fine with that and asked for a refund so I can buy the new item. They again told me no even though I just bought it 5 minutes prior. An off duty worker who was standing on line approached me and started yelling" she told you no twice, don't ask again". I then asked for a manager and when the manager arrived I explained that I was simply asking for and exchange and she told her cashier, "just help the stupid bitch so she can get out of my store." I took my item that I wanted to exchange and I left.I would rate this store a zero if possible. Just travel an extra 15 minutes to Easton. Don't waste your time with these people. read more

I'm going to have to add on to low ratings of this store. It is 5 am, I am from out of town and came in to do some much needed grocery shopping. I was pressed for time and found most of the items I was looking for. I wanted to avoid long lines and there it was; with customers still in the store (and perishables in my cart) all registers werre shut down. All self service lanes were closed. No announcement was made over the intErcom or any accommodations for my fresh cut fruit and other cold items thawing in my cart. Not even a customer service cash register was opened. 3 men with lOaded carts and one cashier who just stood in the middle oof thE chhsck out for around 30 minutes. It was a totally inConvenient and unprofessional experience. No walmart manager ever came to assist to help expedite. It is unfortunate because this is typical Walmart service where the staff are not good with service. They are lurking at the wrong time and absent when needed. If your list is long, avoid this store. They lack the professionalism to properly pay their employees (especially the cashiers). For their long time devotion and experience over the new hires who has the lesser but higher pay, they (the long term experience and devoted) deserve better. For shame. read more

I cannot stand this place. The staff does not greet any customers or make them feel welcome although this is a very high volume store. The pharmacy often has crazy lines but knowledgeable staff. Customer service desk - there is a young lady who works at customer service who is fantastic, the rest of the staff is slow and at XMas time I have seen lines with 40 minute wait times. Online orders disorganized at best, that is what causes the wait times at the desk. Checkout here is my main gripe. I will wait 20 minutes to get checked out in an express lane due to understaffing. Not enough lanes open and most of the cashiers are SLOW. I often try to shop elsewhere, but I do enjoy the layout of the store and selection of products, so I return. Would like someone from management to contact me about why there is never enough cashiers at peak business hours and why anyone working in the store cannot say "hi" or even smile at me. Would love to see improvement, this store is a gold mine if they would just treat customers right. read more
