I mean, it's a Wal-Mart... what is one to expect? To be honest this is normally at least a four star experience for me, even being a Wal-Mart, but that being said I used to live nearby and almost always went in the wee hours of the morning (think between 3 and 5am) where the store was spotless and I would be one of the only other customers in there... I recently had the "pleasure" of popping in during normal hours and it was more along the lines of a two star experience so I see why so many are against this particular machine. Above being said, on a good day this particular store is in decent order and has pretty much everything you could need in a pinch... it's easily my favourite of the Wal-Mart branches between Phenix City and the neighbouring city of Columbus... this particular Wal-Mart definitely earns it's Super Centre title at least with a barber, nail salon, full grocery store, and everything in-between. The local Target, in Columbus, seems to have dropped a bit in recent years so while having nicer home stuff this Wal-Mart still reigns supreme in the one stop shop category and it seems that Wal-Mart is at least trying to catch-up in the style game that Target has so readily dominated in the category for housewares. It's almost a no brainer to come here if you're in Phenix City, but truth be told this Wal-Mart has it's ups and downs, but is certainly fare from the worst places you can go... just try and avoid crowded periods and you just might make it out sane! read more

Everyone should beware of this place tire center. I went in there for an oil change and they put the wrong oil filter on my vehicle. One worker( because he is not a licensed mechanic) wanted to argue with me about the filter being correct just because it screwed onto the nut. I also can care less about what he puts on his vehicle which he claims was a Ford Expedition too. I have changed my oil myself and it has been done numerous times at the Ford dealership so I know what the right size filter fits on my V8 truck. They are too lazy to go inside the store for the right size and put a small unauthorized one on my truck. Walmart also does false advertising because they claim that you get a free Fram oil filter with their oil change options. However, if you look at your receipt, they give the option price and then charge you for the filter . Yes, my vehicle uses a motorcraft 820S filter or a Fram ph2. Save your vehicle and stay away from this place because the guy who collects the shopping carts had to tell Mr so called certified mechanic that I was right. read more

Walmart in Phenix city hwy 280 has the worst customer service on self checkout I've ever seen ! they yell and try starting fights with customers !!! they hire very low quality people that don't have any knowledge of how to answer a simple question without yelling! I had that happen to me today and it was ridiculous! Employee are nearly always disgruntled; one in particular has been known to be talking to himself really nasty negative talk about how no one appreciates him. I do pick-up regularly, and the employees attitudes are that of Eeyore! This last time I did pick up, I'm missing six items! Not just one or two. I stopped by, but the "manager was in a meeting". So I came here to get 2 Money Orders and been standing here for 40 mins since my card was charged. It's took 2 to 3 people to try and load the money order machine. 1- Why would you let it go till it ran empty. 2- Why not have your employees better trained for fixing the problem. 3- TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE! So finally done after 45 mins... their excuse was "IM SO SORRY, I don't know what I did but it finally works" So mane and never coming here again. Walmart pickup is pure garbage especially this location !!! We order our items and didn't get them until 4pm.. we didn't get a conformation they our items were ready until along 8 when they closed for the evening... when i got there and called 5 people pulled up after me and got there items before me.. they're was no sorry for the wait no explanation to why they were late. we finally got our items after waiting 15 minutes. We had over 20 missing items!!! And over 10 items that was not even ours!!!! We call back and they hung up in my face!!! We had half rotten zucchini, our grapes were mixed up with some cherries we didn't order... when you call the 1800 number they are zero help as well!!! All they offer is a refund that takes 10days or you have to wait until the next day to get your items!! This was my 1st time using them a for sure will be my VERY LAST!!! read more

After 3.5 hrs still waiting later with no one in sight and no one under the dam hood of my truck for over few hrs!With all the Workers more worried about talking to women thats on the sight and NO SENSE of URGENCY in finishing my oil change.. WOW. I'm from California and was visiting for Fort Benning's family day, and I was shocked when I went to this Walmart. You may be wondering how I ended up in this state instead of staying in Georgia. That's not important. I'm a roamer. The point is- this Walmart is amazing!!! I came here trying to find an Alabama collector's spoon, and instead bought tons of baby stuff! I thought all Walmarts were the same, but not this Phoenix City Amazingness of a Walmart. It had juice cups galore for only $2. In California, the same juice cup is $6. That is the price difference of one whole gallon of gas in Alabama. I am shocked. Anyway- loved it. I asked the associate in the yellow vest for help. She acted like it was a pain to interrupt her conversation with another employee. Do not go to the auto center with a 5th wheel, travel trailer or a cargo trailer expecting to tires taken off and installed put on your trailer, they will tell you to take them off so they can mount and balance them for you. Picked up my grocery order yesterday evening. None of the pickup emplotees were wearing masks properly. All had them under their chin. If that is how they behave in view of shoppers I hate to think what they are doing in the store room. In my city there is a mask mandate and Walmart insists all customers wear a mask but they are not enforcing their policy for employees. read more

If I could give the grocery pickup a big ole 0 I would. You tell us we have till 8pm to pick up our grocery order. Get there at 7:45pm and the app is saying there is a problem with their network so I call the number posted on the reserved signs. No one answers and it rolls to voicemail, call repeatedly and still no answer. So I try calling the store itself and no one answers, finally someone answers and says she will try to get in touch with the department, she transfers me to another female who says she will see if anyone is still there from that department and then hangs up on me. If your department is open till 8 then your employees should be there answering the phone and bringing out customers orders until 8pm. I will never be using the grocery pickup again and this seriously awful overall customer service experience from the store as a whole has me thinking I may need to find a new grocery store that actually values their customers. read more

I'm calling the store in the morning. After church I stopped to get groceries. The store had only two checkout lanes that weren't self service. There were at least seven or eight people in each line. The person in front of me had two full carts of groceries. At least $400 worth of groceries. I stood in line for at least 20 minutes. My feet were killing me! Its getting so that everything is self checkout! They're building a new grocery store a mile from my house and if the prices are good, I won't be shopping at Walmart again. Also they are not user friendly with older people. The dollar stores are killing them because you can get in and out quickly. Hope corporate sees this! read more

I would give it a negative star if I could. I went 4 times to get new tires. First 2 times I was told to come back because they were busy. 3rd time I was given an estimate and was told to pull my car up for service at 3 pm. A large worker came to my car to tell me he would not be able to service me because they were shutting down at 4. I asked for the manager and was told by the manager they are suppose to work til 5. One worker (a black female) was mocking the situation the whole time laughing while the workers were upset about having an extra vehicle. So I asked the manager if I could return the next morning instead. She said yes and offered a discount on my service. My husband returned at 9 am the following day and was told it would be a 3 hr wait. He also asked for a manager to get info on our discounted service for the inconvenience and was told by the employees that there was no managers on shift. So he left. I called back within 10 minutes and spoke to one of the managers that they said wasn't there. All I can say is the auto shop is totally unprofessional, especially the mocking cashier, and what goes around comes around.... read more

I love this Walmart I try coming here at least 3 times a week. I love the sporting goods department, even though they seldom have my bullets in stock. The nice dept. manager, i think his name is Matthew told me they go very quickly so I can't be too upset. I don't like their pharmacy they are all rude. I think Bryan in the meat dept. is so friendly there's hardly ever any meat on the shelf but he always checks in the back for me. This store is always busy and it seems if you don't come in the morning there's anything on the shelves the people who work there are super nice. read more

This location has just gone down hill. They never have enough mobile carts for my mother who is hancapped and half of them are usually broken. The store shelves NEVER stay stocked and the prices are higher than their other locations in Columbus. I've quit shopping here and go to the locations in Columbus, but the other locations are not much better. I don't know what it is about their locations here in the area, but other locations I have visited in LaGrange and Auburn/Opelika always have MORE than enough mobile carts, keep the shelves stocked and are always clean. read more

I'm not sure I ever really expect much from a Walmart- they aren't exactly known for their exemplary customer service, but this one is just pathetic. Their produce is always pitiful and half turned/rotten already. I've seen chicken and ground beef out on the shelves that have passed their sell-by date, and their grocery pick-up is the absolute worst I've ever experienced. Every time I do a grocery order from this store I will check-in on the app before I even leave my house yet I will still wait an average of 35-45 minutes at the store to get my order. They will bring out orders to cars beside me that arrived after I did (and did not check in), and not even acknowledge any kind of time delay once they finally mosey out with my order. They started out great and I loved their pick-up service but now it is not worth it. I will either be missing half my order, they substitute items that are smaller or cheaper than what I paid for, or they just mark half my things as "out of stock" so they don't have to do the work of finding a comparable sub. If you need to place a grocery order drive the few extra miles to the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Hwy 80- they are fantastic. read more

Don't like coming here. All the employees don't even know anything about there own store. I asked 4 employees if the sell fireworks. The first one was like hmm what no yeah no. Which is it you fucking work there you should know. Then he said no Walmart don't do that. Yes they do probably not yours. I ordered something from Walmart.com got a confirmation to go pick it up when I went there they gave me attitude told me my item was in there called the manager told me my item wasnt there. So I walked into one of the aisles to call customer service. To see if my item was there. She told me it is then I told her that I spoke to managers into employees regarding my hiding being picked up and told me that they can meet me in the front of the customer service area. They made me wait an hour for them to process me with my item. I will never order anything from Walmart.com just so I don't to deal with those people again. Later that day customer service called and said that give me a $25 gift card for all the hassle. They told me to come in right away. I used to love this Walmart but lately "every time" I'm in there the customer service is AWFUL!!! When I check out the cashier will not even say hello.. They scan the items and tell me the price.. That's it! No eye contact, no have a nice day, no nothing and it isn't just one cashier. A bunch of them do this like it is a horrible thing that I came in and bothered them. I spend a great deal of money at this Walmart and I know that doesn't earn me a gold medal, but I am never rude to people especially without cause, and I cannot stand having people be rude to me. When I went in today, i went to grab a cart and the man at the door didn't say anything but "there's already one out" very rudely and pointed at a cart pushed over to the side. I'm a server in a restaurant and understand that people can come in and act ridiculous but I still treat all of my guest the same. Everybody that comes in should be treated with respect. Instead of wearing it on their sleeves that they hate their job, they should be very grateful to have one. I'm not the only one who has noticed this.
