Nov, 2025. Walmart Supercenter, Oro Valley, AZ. We just started a week-long vacation in the Tucson, AZ area, staying in a condo with full kitchen facilities. Our plan is to balance some restaurant meals with some cooking in the unit and taking along some healthy picnic lunches and snacks on local hikes. We were impressed with the freshness in the produce area, and Walmart had some very good prices on fresh fruit and vegetables -- for instance, avocados at $0.56 each; a big clamshell of organic salad at $4.98; and 3 pounds of apples for $2.67. We also picked up some fast meals so that won't be spending a lot of time cooking while on vacation -- fresh chicken pot pie for $9.44 (4 servings) and a huge, refrigerated 16" supreme pizza for $10.97 that will be at least two meals for both of us. There were A LOT of price rollbacks on products that we looked at. One disappointment was the red plums. The sign said $1.32, which I interpreted as per pound but it turned out to be per piece of small fruit. They must be out-of-season. Another small issue was the signage. For instance, we were looking for mixed nuts and it was hard to ascertain what aisle they were in. A sales associate authoritatively sent us to a wrong aisle! Most of the check-out aisles were self-serve. We had one issue where a product went through at a higher price than expected but an associate came to correct it almost immediately. Parking was free and plentiful. We would visit this Walmart Supercenter again. read more

This store is clean. The employees are smiling and friendly. They have lots of people to help with checking out. I like the employees at the pharmacy. They get pretty busy yet they still take the time to make sure customers are served with efficiency. They have a decent clearance section that is maintained to not be a dump spot. read more

Today I picked up my online grocery order and 3 items (cold) were not there when I unloaded my trunk. I talked to online order department and they found them in the cooler. She said I would have to come back to pick them up..they would not deliver. Sooo they won't get more orders from me unless I take my list and check each item off. Just a warning because I would have been charged for them. I have enjoyed the service in the past but as expensive as groceries are I'm going to be more careful. read more

I have a rule. Unless you love fearing that some old person or hillbilly Jack will hit your car because they are so focused on getting that elusive spot next to any car up and close, thus us a parking lot only the car derby could love. I really dislike going to this Walmart. The place inside is okay, but every time I go into a Walmart, I feel like I need a shower afterward. Unlike the one on Magee, this one has a few humans at the register and quite a few self-standlone electronic ones. The staff, well, most are nice, but I found that if you are trying to get an item and their pack machine thing is there, they won't move it. I give this place two stars for the simple reason they have a lot of vegan meals and stuff. Way more than Safeway, Fry's, Sprouts, and even While Foods, the one on Ina. They offer several impossible microwave meals, which so far is the only place I've found them, lots of the usual plant based players and even some newbies. I wish they would add beanfield or similar bean chips, but they have the cassava ones. Here's the kicker. I was like, okay, I need my vegan feel, and I'm going to have to go. And then, I found it. The Walmart app. Download, add your address, credit card info, and surprise they deliver. It's not via Instacart, though, so you have to go via the Walmart app. I was able to get every vegan item I wanted. They were all there, plus some other stuff I picked. I was giddy. They provide notification updates via the app and let you know via text if the person has changed items. Delivery is 7.99, I went with their 30-day trial and got the delivery for free. read more

Drive-up pick up was very easy. My delivery person was very nice. He put my order in the truck and was on his way.

Typical Walmart experience. Not as expensive as other stores but not cheap. Clear floors, stocked shelf's and friendly staff.

Today I went into the store and was assisted by Joel. I told him I needed help with some rock. He was great following me into the store, loaded the rock, waited for me to pay then loaded my car!!! Please please hire 10 more like Joel!!! read more

I ordered a vacuum for delivery. I got the email and picture of the delivery at 1:17pm, NOT my house! Called customer support and talked to someone halfway around the world! I was told, in hard to understand English, they could not connect with the delivery driver, and to call back after 8pm. The driver had the right neighborhood so we searched and found it. 2 days later I did a late grocery delivery, 9-10pm, at 10:30 I was notified that it was delayed (duh!), so I canceled. I love this Walmart. I shop here all the time. But as I entered the store today a loud alarm sounds and flashing lights everywhere. On the intercom a voice says there is an emergency in the store, please exit the store. So I walk back out, some other people turn around and leave, and a couple of people abandon their grocery carts and leave the store. I wait outside the store for five minutes. It's 104 degrees! Finally I notice that no employees have left the store. No one came out to meet us. So I went back into the store watching for an armed robbery in progress or active shooter. I notice everyone is still doing normal shopping including dozens of Walmart workers. Finally I finish my shopping and go to pay. I ask an employee what the emergency was. She said it was just a test! I said, "Well, it worked! I stood outside for five minutes." No apology. That's not right. Anytime you do a test of an alarm you announce before and after that it's just a test. Otherwise people will just ignore it. I know I will from now on. This Walmart is very different compared to many Walmarts around where I live! They have a lot more unique items. For example: they sell the brand polo here and it's for a pretty decent price! The store itself is very clean and very well organized! The employees were very helpful as well since we were a bit lost in finding some items! Will definitely come back to this location next time we're in Tucson! read more

Mehhh. That's really all I can say about this location anymore, and I've been coming here since opening day 13+ years ago. It's probably the cleanest location in the country, but some things lately add up to make an annoying experience. Need something that's now locked up? Good like finding someone in a timely manner. Need to check-out? You've got two staffed registers to choose from and two, crowded self-serve check-out areas. Want a bite to eat while you're there? You need to eat something from your cart because unlike most every other Wal-Mart, there's absolutely no dining outlets to be found. The electronics department? The worst. I went in to buy a pair of earbuds, only to end up asking several employees for help, who would then pass the buck on the next sad sack, who would then pass the buck on the next one. read more

Gets 5 stars for being one of the best Walmarts I've ever been in...but it's location has everything to do with that?!!....Was working as a subcontractor here under Walmart Management, Got told to "Shut my Faucking Mouth" by Visiting Reset Manager "CL" !!! Couldn't believe it! Staff here is pretty friendly as far as Walmart goes...but perhaps not if you are a Vendor or Contractor? (Which is standard Walmart really?) Walmart has a known terrible history and future for the way their labor practices, treatment of employees, lack of medical benefits, trade practices with companies that regularly employee child labor? Etc? But as one of the largest global employers worldwide?...Blah, Blah!...A nice, pretty, location...that just can't fix the self induced unhappiness of it's own employees! I came last Saturday to the garden center to buy a plant and a pot for a birthday present. I went to check out and an employee that has a name tag of RJ was talking to another Walmart employee. He asked me to wait for 7 minutes so they can finish their conversation. This is a very poor customer service to let the customer wait. I hope the management correct this poor customer service. read more

I have friends who swear by this location, and say that it is the best in Tucson (never mind that it is really in Oro Valley). I say that apart from its pretty nice location, it is a typical Walmart Supercenter, and not worth the extra effort to visit, especially in light of the fact that there are two other closer locations. But then again, what do I know? I'm a Target man. All I can say is that this place is humongous, and you would be hard pressed to not find what you are looking for. The store is well maintained and I was impressed with the grocery shelves, which were well stocked. Unimpressed with the produce selection though, but again, this is Walmart, and to be honest, that aspect of their business has always puzzled me. read more

Why do I feel compelled to review a Walmart? Well, because I can of course!! I like when I'm in OV and am close to this Walmart, let's just say with a family of 5, things get a little hairy at times. It is especially nice that the aisles are large and accommodate a lot of people. Without the large aisles, my husband and I may have a catastrophe on hand with the young ones. I digress. They have the normal assortment of things you would expect. I think their produce section leaves a little to be desired but of course if I want something good I have the rest of Tucson at my finger tips to find something better. Walmart will never employ any more than 3 cashiers tops no matter which location you goto, that being said, this location is nice because I don't seem to run into as many add matching moms, bless you ladies for your patients and dedication it's just not my thing and likewise I don't want to be stuck behind 3 of you for 45 minutes. This location is close to a lot of other things. You have nail and hair places. Ulta, DSW shoes, Petco, and Best Buy and Dicks. You can get a small his/her shopping day all in one area. So overall - Clean and non catastrophe causing aisles. Normal cashier to shopper ratio. Not spectacular but gets the job done. read more

Walmart Supercenter - Look at me fill my cart with things I wanted and tried to justify with a "need" - Grocery Near Me - Oro Valley, Arizona

I just left Walmart with my service dog. I go to Walmart almost everyday. I'm a disabled veteran, who just suffered a stroke. I was in the self checkout, and the top of the checkout was all wet. I called one of your workers there, named Angelo, he had tattoos everywhere, and tried to intimidate me. I'm a 62 year old man. He was the rudest person I've ever encountered there. He literally got within 6 inches of my face and asked if I had a problem. He said he was busy, he was just looking at his phone. He said next time use the help button. I told him to get out of my face and get a manager. He told me to go to customer service if I wanted to talk to a manager. He walked away, with a rude smirk on his face. He walked down about 6 rows to talk to Nick an assistant manager. He finally came over, didn't do anything. All he did was escort me out of the store. A man like Angelo should not be dealing with customers if he's always going to be rude to folks. Angelo should be fired for getting in my face and asking if I had a problem. He said lets go outside!!! So, I guess your employees are trained to threaten customers. As for Nick, your assistant manager, worthless!!! Didn't apologize for Angelo's action. I'll be reporting this incident to the BBB. I don't think a 28 year Air Force Disabled Veteran, should be treated like that. Totally unacceptable!! Future Walmart customers, watch out for Angelo in the checkout area, if he threatened me, he'll have no problem doing the same to others. Angelo and Nick are worthless, didn't help me at all. Went to this Walmart today. The in store experience was fine. The problem was the customer service at check out. Georgina was the cashier in the garden center. I asked if I was at the right cash register she just shrugged. Young lady did not say a word to me the whole time she was at the register. Even when I told her she charged me incorrectly she did not say a word. The only reason I know she can talk is when she told me how much my bill was. The reason I am writing this is not to get the young girl in trouble. Unfortunately this generation of kids don't really understand customer service but for the management to train her and others about interacting with customers. This area of Oro Valley has older customers that expect good customer service at least a hi or thank you for coming. read more

This is a story that's nearly unbelievable. I went into Walmart to purchase puppy potty training pads about a month ago. When I got home and opened the box, it did not contain potty training pads. It contained a foam material that you would find on a mattress or under carpet and it was soiled. That's right, dirty and soiled blue foam. I went to return this, and the best they could do was tell me to fill out the survey on the return receipt. I did that, and received a call from the manager, Alan. I tried multiple times to call back since I got the call during work hours but it has been impossible to get in touch with anybody who can make this right. Disgusting. read more

Tracey... This person--and the great customer service she provided--is the sole reason I'm yelping my Walmart Supercenter at Marketplace Oro Valley. I visit this store about once a week, and never seem to make it out the door :-/ without a $100.+ cart full of groceries. One of the VERY important items I buy weekly is Goslings DIET Ginger Beer... yeah... DIET! It's amazing. Unfortunately, when I show up, it's rarely in stock on the shelves. That's where Tracey (or Tracy?; sorry if I misspelled it) came in. I was looking for an employee to check the back and Tracey was gracious and friendly as she dropped what she was doing to go check the back and SUCCESS! Came back out with a full case of the Goslings Diet. As I was thanking her, I said I would buy more but they never have much of it. She said there was one more case and offered to go back and bring it out. This employee truly acted like a business OWNER and made certain I had a great customer experience... I don't expect that level of customer care from a mega-chain grocery, especially one as large as this (low, low prices; I like them, but having been in retail myself, it's got to be tough making budget on those small margins). Many, many Compliments to Tracey; she is an exceptional employee and she made a huge positive difference in our weekend. Walmart is one of those places where even if it's a hassle, you go anyway, knowing your fixed income goes a lot further there... Well, Tracey made it NOT a hassle and we stocked up on a great product that we couldn't indulge in if we were having to purchase it elsewhere... Now... OV Manager... bring on some serious Gluten-free selections like the Marana store? Please? read more

Some of the other reviewers seem to like to show up in costumes and find the service here is lacking. I don't think a Walmart should be judged on its costumer service. This is a better than typical Walmart, I'd say. I wasn't in costume and I got pretty good service. I didn't have much time I was on my way to the airport to head back home to Milwaukee and in Oro Valley it was 28C (hot and sunny) and the MKE temperature was expected to be -21C (damn cold) when I was due to land. My winter coat in my parked car, which I expected to be frozen shut. A helpful young lady directed me to thermal underwear, gloves, a very heavy sweatshirt and winter hat at Walmart cost and quality (low and essentially disposable) which I all still actually have and wear. I'm pretty sure she worked there. Actually looking back I'm not 100% sure she was an employee. Anyway, I got in and out pretty quickly having found what I needed at the price I needed and the added plus for this Walmart is that it's in the middle of a big open air mall so if I had the time I could have done some serious shopping. read more

Yup, here I am reviewing a Walmart. YES ma'm-I do have better things to do. But I needed to express my gratitude to someone, anyone, so how about Yelp. Let's just say that Walmart was critical to getting our family "through" the pandemic alive (I say it like that because heckity heck it's still going on, it's just that we are vaccinated now). They always stayed true to our pickups, they always stayed true to no contact. We got everything by ordering online and picking it up in the parking lot. The lovely men and women loaded bags of bird seed, 12 packs of soda, dozens of cans of veggies, frozen pizzas by the stack into our car's trunk...We came in the morning, we came at night...and they always had our "stuff". One night we even came just 5 minutes before pickup closed and a manager brought us our order because the team had closed out. That was one act of kindness that we certainly value. Sure, they got a couple orders wrong here and there...but geez, that's to be expected, they are actually human. Thank you Oro Valley Walmart from the bottom of my heart. read more

The problem with this wal-mart is the complete lack of checkers. The lines are always loooooonooong and slooooooow moving. Never have I been to any wal-mart from Washington to Florida, New York to Hawaii that has Only FIVE checkers working during the after work (6 PM) busy times. Yes the place is clean but what I want is to get in and out quick and this wal-mart fails miserably in that area. read more

I am giving the photo department at Walmart a 5-star review because for once in my life I didn't have to wait for someone to acknowledge my presence when picking up my photo order! They were so helpful and friendly and well staffed! Here's the deal - I was accustomed to using Walgreens on First Ave in Oro Valley for photo ordering, and it was like pulling teeth to find a helpful sales associate. If you're ordering photos, Walmart is quick, priced right and convenient. Great quality too. read more

This is my local Walmart. It is very clean and I know where everything is so I like that. I have one tip if you go here ( or any Walmart). Walmart does the deal matching which means if you find the Item cheaper at another store, Walmart will match that. Well at our Walmart there are some pretty serious shoppers and they are serious price matchers, and if you get behind them in line you will wait forever. So pick your line carefully. read more

Horrible. Says open til 11 and when I approached was told 10 due to Pima county. Not sure I though curfew was lifted. So adding to post. Curfew is done. It is the manager's choice to close at 10. I think Walmart corporate might want to take a look at store. I could see manager 'we are open till 1100 my hours say I work till 1130. Oh someone said we closed at 10. That is a lie'. read more

The worst customer service experience at the Oro Valley Walmart. Customer service suggested returning the item to the service counter in the front of the store for an exchange. The service staff could not manage the exchange that had been arranged by customer service. Left the store in frustration and called to speak with customer service and was placed on hold for 10 minutes while they looked into it. A representative picks up the phone and wants to help me...places me on hold again until the line goes dead. I contacted the manufacturer and resolved the matter in less than 5 minutes. read more

I find it amazing that Wal Mart will spend thousands to remodel the inside, but let it's employees move benches in front of the store to create a smoking area in the front where all the customers can see it. My son and I unknowingly sat down there while we waited for my wife to shop and a female employee came out sat within six inches of us and lit cigarette. As my son has asthma and I do not like cigarette smoke we had to vacate the area and go sit on the curb to add injury to insult Walmart didn't have the prescription we are waiting for as well they always seem to be out of the necessary medications or take them two to three days to come up with it so glad I'm moving away from this location read more

Was at this walmart today spent 188. and my cashier was licking his fingers to open my bags, so I stood around for awhile waiting on my son and thought you know what this pisses me off, so I asked one employee how can I tell who a manager is and told her what happened she was very concerned and called over the manager Tanya who basically didn't give a crap at all, did not apologize so needless to say yes I got angry called her some choice words and she asked me to leave well honey Im on my way out anyway and will file a complaint with anyone and everyone that I can, sure I could have held back some vulgarity but under the circumstances~ hell I don't even do that at this point in time when I self check out~ come on really....Never again, I will travel to the foothills walmart and take my chances there. It's difficult not to compare this to other Wal-marts but the truth is that this particular Wal-Mart deserves to be compared to other stores in general. It's clean, the employees are friendly & helpful, prices are decent, & the only time I've stood in a particularly long line was with the Christmas rush. Compared to other stores in the area, it's doing a good job. Compared to the Wal-marts around home, it's in a whole other class. Honestly, it reminds me of Wal-Mart when Sam Walton was still in charge & I could enjoy shopping there. read more
