The backup generator failed to kick in, leaving customers stranded in a long line for 30 minutes with no guidance. Despite the confusion, shoppers remained calm and patient--but where was management? What is the store's protocol during a power outage? It certainly didn't feel like there was one. The only staff who made any effort to help were a man named Mari and a young red-headed woman--both of whom were kind, professional, and thanked us for our patience. They deserve recognition for stepping up when no one else did.

This has happened to me not once but twice when trying to review Elmore and Autauga county businesses. They're obviously trying to protect businesses at consumers' expense. That said, I will amend my prior review of Winn Dixie Millbrook. The District Manager finally contacted me, and told me he would honor the circular ad that his store manager refused to do. (6.99 strip steaks). However, finding the DM's contact info was like finding a needle in a hay stack. Corporate will not give this out and it took a 3 day concerted effort on my part to find him. WD's lack of transparency for their managers is indefensible. We'll see if this revised review makes it to the "recommended" list.

If you need prescriptions, go to good rx and go to a pharmacy who will honor what they advertise. I'll be moving all my prescriptions from here.

I get some from Costco, or the Fresh Market, depending on what I need. I went into Food Outlet on Coliseum and spoke to Chris, in the meat dept. and ordered 2- 40 pound cases of chicken thighs. They came in, and they were from Sanderson Farms in Ga. and were $60.00 per case. Good quality thighs. I went back to order 2 more on 7/21/2026, and told him I wanted them from either Sanderson Farms, or from Koch's here in Montgomery. They came in on 7/23/2006. $60.00 per case. When I got home, I looked on the box, and saw these were from Mar-Jac Poultry from Gainesville Fl. The pack date was on 7/15/2026!!!!! The thighs were gray and were no larger than 2 1/2 inches across, BUT at the same $60.00 price per case. This is totally unacceptable and as the old saying, "Beat me once, that's on you. Beat me twice, that's on me, so I won't get BEAT twice. I will never set foot in this store again for ANYTHING, and I will pass my experience on to everyone I know. I'm not eating them so I'm boiling them down and I will chop them up to add to my dog's food. I will be ordering from Renfroe's from now on. They said they could accommodate my requests. I never mind paying good money for quality food, but to pay the same price for garbage won't work for me.
