This is apocalyptic. It's been months since the scramble for groceries ended and still Winn Dixie's shelves have remained barren of multiple items. Quality of produce is sub-par at best and the meat is rotting on the shelves. Completely dismal. I won't be coming back because it's a grocery store with no groceries. read more

I've had multiple great experiences shopping at Winn-Dixie of Prattville: 7/7/2015-- Just after I walked into the store, an employee (a middle-aged woman with short curly hair) asked, without any prompting from me, if she could help me find what I needed, and then immediately took me to the appropriate section of the store. Considering I was looking for a slightly obscure item, this saved me a lot of time! Additionally, the girl at behind the cash-register and the guy bagging groceries were friendly and personable. 10/18/2015--Laura saw I was ready to check-out, motioned for me to come to the self-checkout stations, and then cheerfully operated the self-checkout register for me, without my first requesting assistance. As I really dislike the self-checkout register, this was a big service that saved me a few minutes of time. Thanks! 11/2/2015--Again, another pleasant employee named Tina saw me look for a short check-out lane, asked if I was ready to check out, and then got me through the self-checkout register in a jiffy. This kept me from having to stand in line merely to buy the two items I was carrying in my hands--much appreciated! Also: I don't remember the date, but a few years ago, I visited the store bakery, needing a cake for someone's birthday. Now the person who usually did the cake lettering was gone for the day. But since I couldn't wait until the next day to get the cake, the remaining employee (Rose was her name, if I recall correctly--don't know if she still works there) volunteered to do her best at lettering my cake, even though it wasn't her specialty. She was apologetic, saying her effort might not be as good as the regular cake-decorator--but it proved to be just what I needed. Of course, often a trip to Winn-Dixie is just a trip to Winn-Dixie--I go in, uneventfully get what I need, and leave. But, good experiences like what I just described make visiting Winn-Dixie of Prattville a pleasant experience when compared to many other stores. read more
