I had to transfer several prescriptions from my compounding pharmacy in Virginia and they took care of everything! They even made my compounds better by dosing them differently which meant less cost to me (as insurance doesn't cover them) and less to apply (they are skin creams). Whoot whoot! I keep getting texts reminding me that a refill is due, then I receive a text telling me that they are contacting my insurance company, then I get a text saying it's too soon to refill. The next day I get another text saying it should be ready that day. Finally, I have to call them and wait at least 5-7 minutes to be told that the prescription is being shipped in and it'll be ready the next day. How convoluted can this be? I've been thinking about moving my scripts to Walmart which is double the mileage but could be half the headache that Walgreens is. The Walgreens is in Mt. Pleasant TN.

My Medicare Humana plan has not changed, but last month she told me my insurance does not cover that medication. She seems to be basing this on her experience trying to "put it through". it is "rejected". No amount of explaining my history with this medication matters at all. She will not do further research, although the Humana website clearly states it covers my medication. I was forced to move my prescription to another pharmacy, causing a delay in getting my medication. I ran out of medicine and had none for 4 days. That is totally irresponsible! Where do they find a pharmacist like this, with no critical thinking skills. And yes, Humana did cover the cost of my medication, as they have in the past.
