This location was next to the Hilton Hotel that we stayed in for 5 days and 4 nights. They have a great Fort Hays State University Team Store just inside the entrance. It has SO MANY items and merchandise, and it is very well stocked. The Walmart store is also very clean, well stocked, and the workers here are very customer service oriented. I appreciated that they have a great amount of cashiers available and ready to assist. I recommend this location when in the area. read more

Purchased two printer cartridges from this store. Installed both, one after the other. Both cartridges were dry or empty. When I spoke to the store regarding the issue they stated there was nothing they could do because they did not have proof that I didn't use the ink. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of choice in Hays Kansas for shopping but I wont ever buy anything I can not open or verify is good from this store again. read more

Pharmacy Staff is always friendly, treat you professionally and always care about the customers. Shockingly the staff happens to remember me by name just after my second visit and I only pick up my meds once a month. This Walmart is always staffed, well cleaned and usually have everything in stock. read more

Absolutely the worst treatment I have ever received at a public store period. First An associate at this Walmart in Hays Kansas 67601 treated me like a second class citizen for wearing a Keffiyeh. Next, as soon as I had revealed why I was complaining the man who was falsely acting to be the manager suddenly became disinterested with me all together, they took the associates side, and I was asked to leave without a reason. I had not raised my voice nor had I used any profanity in that store. There was no reason for me being asked to leave at all. I was aggressively seen out of the store and I had not even tried to stay. I have video proof. The staff at this location should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for their prejudiced behavior towards middle eastern cultures. The pharmacy is awesome!! This is the 3rd time I have been in to pickup my prescription. I also shop for everything else at the same time. The problem is that tonight at 6:30 ready to check out and there were only 2 check out lanes open, and about 8 people in each line. I waited for 20 minutes in line to get one customer checked out. The cashier was about 80 and very slow. I then went to the self check out and there were lines also. It actually took me an hour in lines to get out of Walmart. I made myself a promise that I would from now on just go there to get my prescriptions and leave. I hate to say it but I will be doing all my shopping on Amazon from now on!! You just lost about $1200.00 a month from me!!! read more

My wife and I are from out of state and we were in a rush to grab groceries while visiting in Hays. We came back into the Walmart after shopping before because we forgot and had to return a TV but the receipt was printed in our home state of Colorado and we just didn't need the TV anymore. The customer service employees at the return desk were rude and treated us as thieves rather than a normal couple returning an item and they both were snarky towards my wife which I didn't appreciate. We weren't too happy with the experience as you could tell. read more

We stood at the self checkout and waited And waited, looked for a Walmart employee and continued to wait. It wasn't by choice, the register said we need an associate. We ended up taking our items to another lane with an associate to checking out. If your going to have self check out, you still need someone to be there if you're requiring assistance with the register. read more

I always go to this Walmart when I need my groceries. As a college student, the prices are cheap and perfect for someone who is balancing work and school. The employees are always friendly and ready to help whenever I need them. Also, the music makes for a better experience and keeps me moving to where I need to go. I never struggle with parking or carts being in the way because the employees always take care of them. Over all a great store to get your needs and wants met. read more

I had a question about where an item was located, and the staff was extremely helpful. It's also nice how clean the store is and organized. The staff themselves were extremely kind and welcoming to people that just came into town. Not many stores have employees that take the time to check on their customers. No service. Finding anyone to help was like snipe hunting in Florida. Finding anyone with a brain is even rarer. Constant moving around of stock just to encourage impulse buying. Rip off items such as hamburger packed in very thick plastic making plastic very expensive. Yeah, the thick bottom of the package costs a lot of money. Adding water to meat makes for expensive water. If I go into the store for a specific item it will be out of stock. This is the experience of decades. I have reduced my visits to a couple of times a year where there is no other choice but to at least try Walmart as my last resort. My daughter worked for Walmart at another store. Her supervisor bit her on her arm. One woman with a brain told me where to find the printer ink. "Oh, they moved that to the back of the store. Just go straight ahead. You will find it." "Thank you." Same old same old for merchandise at this Walmart as any other. This Walmart Supercenter is conveniently located off of an exit in Hays which is about halfway to KC, MO from Denver, CO. Sometimes it feels like a brutal drive on that last half as the last half of anything usually does but this is a nice place to go and get a quick snack or be on your way. First I would like to say I would not envy any Walmart employees in the slightest. I am sure this retail job doesn't have many perks... That being said, I have worked in retails many times. One of the things that customers remember the most from shopping at such places are the employees, how attentive they are to your needs, their attitudes, etc. The Hays, KS Walmart lacks many good retail qualities. I go there often, at various hours of the day. Here are a few issues I wanted to make aware: - Door greeters get paid to GREET people, not stare at customers walking in and out of the store. - The self-checkout folks are some of the employees with the most bitter attitudes. I literally had a lady yell at me for utilizing the self-checkout "wrong" just a few months ago. - When you need help with something and it's quite obvious, employees see you and don't bother to ask if you need help the majority of the time. For the positives, this Walmart location is typically well stocked, clean and orderly. And I do come across outstanding employees who provide great customer service! Just wish this occured more often, as it should. read more

The tire shop is good. The garden center and the rest of the place is just awful. The plants were dying and when i said something to the person working there he told me they are supposed to get watered on a different shift. I will look for something that i know they have and when i can find it if i ask a worker they just tell me they dont think they have it. I'll come home and look the item up on their website and it will say its in stock at that store. I went to the management and they were just rude. I know they can look an item up and it will even tell them if they have it in stock and how many they have. I try to avoid going there completely now. read more

This Wal-Mart can't seem to stock any utility trailer tires with any consistency. I have gone there twice from Lake Wilson to get a Jet Ski trailer tire and they have never had it when I needed it. Like any Wal-Mart, they are destroying the "Made in USA" culture with cheap plastic, disposable junk, it creates consumerism right. Built to fail, but hey, it's cheap right! As we walked in we were greeted wit a friendly bubbly young man. I was in there about 3 months ago as we had a stay for a family reunion. As my 2 family members and I were browsing for dinner we then headed over to the game isle then movies. The electronic employees were extremely helpful and were willing to help us whenever needed. I noticed a young women following us. I told the other 2 girls i was with that she was probably a secret shopper. With no worries i continued my shopping. I then noticed her AGAIN not only staring us down but on her hands and knees peaking through racks. I then said out loud what on earth could she possibly be staring at. I then see her stand up get on her phone and a manger was with her instantly. She then proceed to tell him that she saw us "shoplifting".!(keep in mind we had a cart FULL of stuff a good $200) I said that was the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard of. At this point we were at the checkout lines. She was yelling extremely loud and the manager allowed it and allowed her to talk anyway she wanted to us. She had told us she worked there and saw us take a MOVIE out of all things how on earth does someone take a movie! Anyways I then offered to let them go through all of our belongings. She said she would take us back to the isle to prove there were wrappers there. I said lets go then. As we walked over to the game isle this girl was still going on and on about it. With the manager not saying a word i said you dont know me so stop yelling at me. As we stop to the isle they search high and low for a good 5-7 min. What do you know nothing there. They let us go. She or he never even apologized for her behavior or accusing 3 women of not doing anything wrong. My family has been in the Walmart business for a good 25-30 years. Needless to say i left the cart and went to another business. I will never go back and get treated like that again and will be in touch with the head office. read more
