If you want to work here, you better be related to one of the managers. That's the only way you'll get decent hours. They will hire you at one pay, then deduct your pay because "they made a mistake. They will cut your hours because the managers precious children need the overtime. The managers children act like they are managers and try to tell you what your job is for the day. This is extremely unprofessional and why people who are related should not work at the same company. Too much favoritism going around with the employees. This is a nice Walmart. There are great kitchen items. The grocery store part of the store is convenient. I also love being able to print pictures from my phone in the photo area. Check the photo department hours. The staff leave at approximately 5pm and you can't pick up your photos until the next day. Many of the clothing items have changed since Walmart has changed a lot of their brands. The only area of improvement I noticed was the lack of staff at registers. You don't need three employees at a customer service desk (with no customers) when one overworked employee is the only person at an open register. read more

Friendly employees and most customers are friendly and respectful. Prices are shockingly higher than acceptable. Cat foods have become ridiculously high for the vet tiny packages. PRINTER INK!! YIKES! I'm scared every time I print a page. Ink per volume prices are much higher than GASOLINE!! This walmart is usually extremely crowded...on a very very regular basis. Yet the managers still see the need to only have 2 registers open. Really?? I don't particularly like standing in line for 20 minutes in the express lane to buy the 1 or 2 things I needed to "run in" for. & if you need to return something - forget it. That line is twice as long. I will typically make the drive to Warrenton to return things as that customer service department keeps things rolling. Also, on a VERY regular basis, their signs & posters have things spelled incorrectly. I don't think I've ever seen a sign up that had everything correct. I know that's a small pet peeve but still...ANYWAYS - the bottom line is don't go here expecting to run in & out b/c it's never the case. read more

Yes, I know a lot of people are going to gasp, throw the back of their hand to their forehead, & exclaim "Say it ain't so!!! That an "Elite" Yelper & someone who enjoys food shopping & gourmet cooking, yadayadayada is giving Walmart FOUR STARS!!!" But I must. To open - let's put Walmart's politics aside & just do the apples vs. apples. As in, we buy a LOT of poultry products, & Walmart's prices for the same items by the same producers are frequently as much as $2-$3 less. Politics may be politics, but when you're buying a LOT of poultry on a regular basis, that makes a BIG difference in one's weekly bill. In addition, Walmart also carries products by vendors that other markets in the area do not. Again - we like the products by these vendors, so another win for us. In addition, since our area has a decent Hispanic population, this Walmart carries a number of meat cuts not available at other stores - tripe, beef tongue, etc., etc. We've been shopping at this Walmart for as long as it & we have been here (we moved here 20 years ago). We see & have been served by some of the exact same cashiers & customer service reps. And they're still friendly, are helpful, & enjoy their work. Although the store was always clean & had nice fresh produce, the last 3-4 months until just recently found the store in a bit of a carnival, as they were going through a complete rehaul & renovation. During this time, store employees were more than helpful, & the store actually provided maps so folks could find items that had been relocated to another part of the store. Renovation is now complete, & the "new" store is beautiful. Open, spacious, new products - just great. And prices for the items we specifically buy there are as reasonable as always. While we shop at pretty much all of Culpeper's supermarkets, our Walmart continues to give us great value & great customer service for what we purchase there. read more

I'm not in Culpeper much, but when I am, this Walmart always seems to be busy. There's never anywhere to park, and the lines at the registers are always long. Does all of Culpeper come here after church in their Sunday best to pick up Sunday dinner? Cashiers always seem to move super slowly, too. read more

just now Worst automotive center ever. If I could leave no stars I would. The first time I went they wouldn't take me and the cashier was rude. Then I came back and got an put change and they didn't put the top back on so oil went everywhere and caused my check engine light to come on. Today I went there and strops in line forever while the cashier told a man to bring back his receipts from three years ago to get a credit. Then when it was my turn and I asked for an oil change giving them another chance she told me they would not because it was 6:15. They close at 7pm. I even called before I came and no one would answer the phone. Shittiest place to go for your car. read more

First, it's Walmart. This is not a high end retail. If you want high end retail prices and service, feel free to go there. The produce and meat are always there. I have no trouble with the employees. first of all , there store is so unorganized and the workers are no help whatsoever . they said the dog food was near the milk so i spent 15 minutes looking for the dog food when it was nowhere near the milk . there shelves are discombobulated and barely any products . let alone the fact they have one lane open every time i go there . read more

This wal-mart is of course surrounded by other gigantic chains I'm sure I don't have to list for you. This was the second one we visited since the first one didn't have the item we were looking for. We called ahead so we could be sure the detour off 29 wouldn't delay us further and were transferred to the electronics department. I have to admit we didn't ask for the sales clerk's name, but none of the 4 cashiers/representatives there could help us when we had just called 10 minutes earlier to confirm the item was on the shelf. It was a disappointment and the "it wasn't me" attitude didn't lead us in the right direction. I was so happy to get out of that monstrous place. The culpeper Walmart is so dirty they have no lines ever open don't ever get meat from there because they take meat that people leave on shelves for hours and put it back in the meat section I used to work there and I never got meat from there they're so filthy they need a new manager because the one there doesn't do her job correctly. I would recommend to shop at martins or food lion anything but Walmart they sell broken tvs. They have dust all over the place they never clean. I hate it there I'll never go back there!!! read more

Me & my husband were extremely sick w/ the flu we came in basically for cold medicine needed help, and had some questions on the best cold medicine went to ask the pharmacist for help they said to go find a store floor employee, we found our medicine on our own, then right before we went to stand in the we had to go to customer service just for stamps, stood there for 10 minutes there was only 1 person at the register, but there were 5 other employees fumbling through return items in carts, and one mopping the floor, I finally after 15 minutes asked can someone else help over here, there was no response, so we just went to front to check out our cold medicine. I am new to culpeper. I have found this walmart to be very disappointing. There is never anywhere to park. No matter what time I go. The inside is dirty. The first time I went to customer service a clerk kept trying to get a supervisors attention to help her pick something up. The lady looked at her & walked away!! I told her I'd help but she said no. Probably because I'm a customer. Yes I reported it to the manager. Another time the clerk didn't know how to do a return for me. So she said she couldn't do it. I called corporate. The manager of the store called me & asked me to come back & he'd do it. Well he didn't end up doing it another lady did. It was taken care of. This store is a awful store. I've always thought target was more expensive but I now go there. Better parking...more friendly helpful workers & CLEAN!! read more
