This is one of the best Walmarts I have ever been to! The staff is very kind and helpful, and the people shopping there are also very kind! I remember when the Cody Walmart was the nicest Walmart store that I have ever been in. It seemed to have gone down hill in the past few years, not sure if it's the management or just that it's getting older. I stopped going in Walmart because it takes too long to go through the checkout lane, the isles are littered with pallets and hard to find anyone for help.Typically the only express/ self checkout open is on the east end, the 20 items or less/ express takes long than a normal checkout lane. Lanes 12, 5,7 and 3 are the only ones open and that's when they are extremely busy! The Walmart in Laurel, Montana is by far the nicest Walmart I have seen in years, a clean store, no pallets in the isles and almost all the checkout lanes are open. I sure wish Cody Walmart was that way. read more

don't beleive all the complaints, as i shop here regularly, i find all the employees friendly, the store well stocked and very tidy and clean. i have read some of the reviews full of complaints, and do not believe them. this the cody, wyoming walmart is the cleanest walmart i have ever been in. i have purchased and had tire installed at this store too and they were professional and efficient. i have done pick-up and delivery with the cody walmart and if something is short they make good correct the error. we are not in the salinas valley so maybe not the perfect veggies, but to get better you might have to drive to the suburbs of san francisco fresno, or sacramento. this is not kansas city, or san jose or compton. customers and employees are neighbors and the store does not get trash as in other walmarts. read more

Auto service is great. My son needed news tires. They were courteous and very helpful. I called the Billings Walmart and they were not. The guys working there were squared away. This is a great example of the Walmart Stores and I have been to many of them all over the nation. read more

What a mess! This place is a wreck. When I went, there was merchandise everywhere. It looked more like a Goodwill than a Walmart. The Halloween section looked like a tornado had hit it. It certainly wasn't 'super.' This place is huge- it's on the edge of town, along the main road into town. The exterior has been crafted to make it look more rustic than a regular Walmart you might find elsewhere. It has wooden beams on the side of the building that make it look more like a Wal-Mart Super-Cabin. Pfft. They were out of a lot of items when I went. Supply chains. The clerks seemed completely aloof and overworked. They had a few Wyoming t-shirts, but they seemed cheaper (and funnier) on the main street, Sheridan, in town. They had a separate liquor store next door. I needed one after having to come here. Ultimately, I didn't find what I was looking for. read more

This store is horrible, when I tried checking out at self checkout I asked an employee if they had tap to pay he said yes but not at self checkout so I walked to a register, the girl would not pay attention to me and a minute later she said "can I help you" like what do you think I'm here for dipsh, I asked if they had tap to pay and she made me repeat my self over 10 fuking times, and she said "no" they didn't have tap to pay even though the guy SAID THERE WAS so I walked back and asked my dad to pay for it instead and when he tried he when through the back way and they said he couldn't in a really judgemental and mean way so he walk around to the front and they CLOSED THE DAMN SELFCHECK OUT ON HIM and they had the audacity to say "sorry we're closed" seriously IT WASN'T CLOSED 2 SECONDS AGO, and we went and paid for it at the register and when we were walking past they were whispering and looking at us like what is wrong with people one star do not recommend. read more

The Walmart was very big and also very stacked. My dad looked in the Pokémon/magic cards and they were stocked with cards. In our town they hardly have the self filed. It was very organized and very nice. They also had souvenirs I mean come on that's cool. They also had good decorations and a very nice cashier. read more

I had an extremely horrible experience at this location from the cashier. As we approached the cashier, we noticed the customer engaged with her customer. We patiently waited until she was finished. As soon as she faced us she had the biggest frown on her face but i shrugged it off. I politely asked her if she could suggest any good restaurants. She didn't even make eye contact with me and began scanning our items and said in a rude manner, "Let me finish doing what I'm doing first and when I'm finished then I'll answer your question." I was taken aback by her comment and so I told her, "It's ok. I'll search for it myself." As soon as she was finished she proceeded to greet and smile at the next customer. We were never greeted or received a smile. I assume it is because we are Asian and not white. This is the first time I have ever been treated like this at any Walmart. I just hope that no one else gets treated like this. I am still in shock. It is ironic because as DM , she is the kind of person I train my employees not to act like. I would be appalled if any of my employees acted in this manner. I made sure to look at her name tag. Her name is Renai and this transaction occurred today (July 19 at 8:42 pm). read more

Only had 2 checkout lines open, the rest self checkout. One of my items had a bunch of mold on the underside which I didn't notice until the next day when we opened it. Called customer service, was told to bring it in along with my receipt. I explained I lived an hour away and was rudely told to bring it in next time I came in. This was just a reminder as to one of the reasons I quit shopping here. read more

Pretty average for a Walmart. My dad and I stopped in here one night when we were in town visiting Yellowstone. We stopped by to pick up some sandwich stuff so we could pack a lunch into the park so we wouldn't have to get lunch in the park or drive all the way to one of the entrances. read more

This store is an exceptional Walmart. Coming from California we have some of the worst Walmart employees. In contrast, every employee that I came in contact w here was helpful & friendly (except for the guy in the liquor store w the beard). I noticed a 1 star comment that threw an employee @ this store under the bus bc she felt the employee wasn't "friendly" enough to her & assumed it was bc of her race w out any factual proof that the rude attitude was bc of her race. Happy, happy because everything is in one place. Get your hair cut, get your eyes checked, buy a new phone, return merchandise, grab a quick bite at subway & then shop til you drop & head for home. It's a wee bit of a drive for my Sis & I, but you can't beat the prices versus the market in our little town & you can get everything you need in one stop. Including, getting maintenance done on your car. I've noticed several reviews regarding negative remarks on customer service, but I've been there numerous times & have found them to be pleasant & more than willing to help you find items you can't locate. Went shopping on Monday morning when very few people were in the store and still there are very few checkers and they are extremely slow

TL:DR go to Walgreens for your printing needs Ordered prints online to have printed in-store. I had already prepaid when my mom said that the photo printer is always broken at that Walmart and Walgreens is much better. Well, I already sent the photos and paid so I decided to take a chance. Arrived two hours after sending the photos. Nobody is at the photo desk, but a poorly written misspelled sign is posted that says "Photos may be delayed for tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience." Another family is waiting for their photos and when I ask if there is a desk attendant they said an employee from electronics had called for somebody. Fast forward 10 minutes and nobody has come. I have to use my cell phone to call the store. When I tell the operator that I have been waiting for 10 minutes for a photo attendant she tells me to ask somebody in electronics. I double check with the family that they've already done this. The operator says that she'll send a manager. Five minutes later a man shows up who appears flustered and annoyed that he has to help us. He checks the machine and says that there's nothing printed. We ask when things will be printed. How will we know when they're printed? What is going on?! The man refers to the sign that some mystery photo employee wrote and says he has no idea. The family tells him to cancel their order for which they've been waiting for over an hour. They head to Walgreens. I am fricking pissed at this point. I'm 20 minutes into waiting for these photos that are Christmas presents that need to get to the UPS store by 2PM (it's 1:50pm at this time). The employee who is supposed to be helping us is ignorant and unhelpful. And I've already paid for these photos that are not going to be printed. Next time I'm going straight to Walgreens. read more

This is a necessity for RVers. Walmarts are not my favorite shopping experience, but stopping here on your way to YNP ... especially if you are staying in the park ... is indeed a necessity. Pick up all you need here because it's a 140 mile round trip from Cody to Fishing Bridge. Who wants to waste three hours making the transit? That's all it's about folks. You will find this Walmart doesn't have a Murphy Oil so you have no access to cheap diesel much less gasoline. There's plenty of space to park your RV. You can get your vehicle serviced for routine maintenance here, if required. read more

Usually has what we need but you will never get help from the staff. They are never friendly, never offer to help when you are obviously not finding what you need. They won't talk to you as they walk by. Don't expect anyone to ever be in electronics even if you call for a cashier. If this wasn't the only place where you can get almost anything in town, we would never go again but unfortunately it is. read more

Auto shop has horrible management. Went in to get new tires on my car. The man at the counter told me it was going to be two hours before they could put the tires on because they was a car ahead of me. Wow!!!!!!!! Really two hours to put tires on the car ahead of me!!!!!!!!!! Very poor management. read more

Unfortunately this store is by far the absolute worst when it come to anything resembling "customer service". For starters this is a tourist town... so why at 10 o'clock in the morning do you have to wait in one of the 4 checkouts open, not including self check out, which is a complete joke, remember you have to wear a mask to get in the store, this week... last week I went right in without a mask... and now this week they're back to wearing masks to get in, but I digress, So after all the hoopla about wearing the mask, self checkout personnel literally stand there, without wiping down the self checkout register after the previous potential COVID-19 person leaves... Mighty powerful thinking on any of the so called managers, let alone the head of those assistant managers, and the less than friendly yellow vest wearing "ladies". I could go on, but I'm running low on the "letter" count...this store sucks and the employees are the rudest I've ever met...Go to laurel instead. read more

So - I bought tires here... and they rotate the tires for free. When I went in to have them rotated, they were really behind. So I waited almost 2 hours. I also had the oil changed. Well, when it was all finished, I drove home. The next morning, I went to move my car and there was a horrible smell in my engine. I took it back to Walmart. The service manager said that they noted that the service tech had spilled oil all in my engine. Then they steam cleaned the engine to clean off the oil. Nothing about this was said to me. So, they re steam cleaned the oil spill... but it still smelt like burned oil for about 2 weeks. They also said that I need to drive my car for 50 miles and take it back in because they wanted to make sure my lug nuts were set correctly. If it wasn't set correctly, why in the hell would you have me leave and drive home? This is the shoddiest service center. Please, take your car to another reputable car center. There was one other time that they plugged my oil plug in my car and they could not get it out. I had to take it to a dealership to have them fix this oil plug situation. I should of remembered that fiasco before I took it to them this time... read more

Never using the photo center again! I'm so irritated! I ordered and paid for mounted wall prints and a few regular photos online a week ago and received my notification text that they have been finished 2 days later. I went in to pick them up and they can not find them even though its written on my copy of regular prints and I got a notification text as well as email with the description of everything that's done. The employee behind the counted just wandered around aimlessly looking for 5 minutes before I said ill come back tomorrow. He said I should call during the day to speak to the daytime lady before I return. I go back only to have the same issue and see many more prints have been done on the mounted wall photo frames. He asked if I called the lady, I said no I did not have time. He tells me again to call the lady who works during the day tomorrow and find out. I call her today and she has no idea why I don't have them and is absolutely no help. she said they can print them on a cardboard mount for me. I tell her that wont work I don't want those. she says I'm sorry then I don't know what to do for you. I tell her I want my money back and she gives me another number I can call.... BEWARE Walmart auto service in Cody I have taken my truck there for service every 10k miles they were not greasing the u joints like i asked them to do and one when one went bad to the point it was rusty Walmart did pay to fix it, they also were not checking the oil in anything the the transfer case front end and rear end were a quart low each my transmission started howling and i checked it and it was 3 quarts low and it is only a 4 quart system and this was all 1 month after the last service there were no leaks in the transmission according to Walmart service so to me that means they were not checking the fluids I made a claim with there insurance company and they told me its not there problem so now because the Walmart Service department is staffed my incompetent workers i now have to replace the $4500 transmission my self its now wonder Walmart makes so much money the stupid son of a bitches....... read more
