I am rating this walmart based on grocery pickup. I've visited this location almost 10 times since the beginning of the year. Every single encounter I've had, the associates are friendly and fast. The last time the employee actually gave me a feedback card so I could "grade" her. She was fabulous, in my opinion. I went just a few days ago and it was slower than normal, but still not an inconvenience. It appeared that only one employee was handling the pickup and this was causing a bit of backup. Ordered tires online , including mounting and balance through the Walmart website. Answered all the questions, and paid. When I arrive early this morning at the Clayton Walmart auto service center , where the tires were drop shipped , I'm told to take the tires to Discount Tire to have them mounted as they won't mount on aftermarket rims even though they're same size and material as factory wheels. I refused the tires and told them to return them since they broke our service agreement. Online customer chat service (offshore of course) was of no value. They refused to issue a receipt for the return or note it in my online account , only pointing me back to the store for paperwork (I didn't order from the store, but from the Walmart website). So today, Walmart has my tires, my money and the paperwork and refuses to complete the contract. Pro Tip: Go to a real tire store, not the Clayton Walmart excuse for a tire store. I guess there's a reason they had 8 service bays yet I was the only customer there. read more

Wanted to buy a particular toaster, but Walmart does not stock it in local stores, so attempted to buy it on walmart.com. I have been trying now for 4 hours, using PC, iphone, and ipad to buy the toaster, but keep getting error: "Sorry! We're having a technical issue. Please try again later." The same toaster is 50% more on other sites, so not an option to buy it from other vendor. I attempted to contact Walmart corporate, but their website is "unreachable". Other issues with Walmart - Ordered 4 gallon jugs of windshield washer fluid, in one order, to be sent to one address. Walmart divided the order up and delivered the washer fluid to 4 different addresses in my subdivision, apparently randomly, and none were delivered to my house, which was the only address in the order. Do not know where they came up with the delivery addresses. read more

Walmart... there is always something going wrong at this store. Bought a chicken from the Walmart in Clayton NC off 70 for a dinner I was hosting. Started cutting the chicken and it seemed very weird. When I buy or bake a chicken the first place I cut into is the breast. Well to my surprise the chicken that I bought was hollow! Yes HOLLOW! It was all bone with barely any meat on it. I was shocked because I had never seen anything like it so yeah thanks to Walmart my dinner was ruined! I visited here for the first time to pickup a prescription. The pharmacist was pleasant and I was helped in a short amount of time. I decided to do some grocery shopping as I was there. The prices are cheaper, but at what cost? Items are askew on the shelves and many products were missing. I felt like I needed a long hot shower, a box of wine and a long nap after shopping here. I won't be back for a long while. Shop here if you like being depressed. read more

A nice Wal-Mart Supercenter with all the bells and whistles - Tire & Lube, Vision Center, even a Subway! It must be new because the shopping cart I grabbed didn't have that one-bust-wheel feature that has been installed at so many other Wal-Mart stores. Nearly completely empty on a mid week afternoon, I was able to wander the aisles unbothered by screaming kids and their moms screaming at them. That's probably not the typical experience for this Wal-Mart, but I call 'em as I see 'em. New signage, bright lights, well stocked shelves. Clayton, you have yourselves a winner here! Bonus, this Wal-Mart has a gas station (Murphy's) out front. If you pay with either a Wal-Mart credit card or one of the Wal-Mart gift/store card, you get 10 cents off per gallon. read more

They have this whole PickUp thing where you can pickup your online items at a drive thru. I haven't seen any other Walmart have this awesome feature. I like this Walmart, its just a hike from Raleigh. It sits on the outskirts of town on the way to Clayton NC. Its a great location if your in the town of Clayton. I've been several times and there is never a long line of people and I'm always able to get in and get out. Great service and its usually really clean. read more

The manager, Carrie, must feel is it fine for customers to ring up and bag their own items. There are no workers here to do it. Stay away from this location and any others that do the same. I shouldn't be charged regular prices when I do all of the work for my items. If I am working as an employee then I should receive an employee discount. Walmart is not my place of employment. This Walmart in Clayton HWY 70 has to be one of the worst Walmarts I have ever been too in my lifetime....I keep saying I am not going back and then I find myself there again.....I went today and there are soo many items out of stock.....I needed Aspirin....just plain aspirin....NONE on the shelf excect for the bayer 80mg. Toothpaste.....Colgate and Crest and walmart brands out of stock ... Vitamins B12 all they had was Spring Valley that I don't use.....Crackers....Low and out of stock....and soo on....So i asked the Manager what is going on in this store....she said did I ask a stocker. I said No...the shelves are bare....She say okay I will check with the stockers. LOL...really???? Poor Poor Management.... I went to the Walmart Garner on 42West.....WOW....Shelves stocked....I was able to shop and get everything I needed.....AND the employees are are so nice and helpful compared to the Clayton one. Probably the grossest deli section I've seen. Pieces of meat just thrown around the counter, particles of meat and cheese in big piles on the machines with flies pitched on them. If I wasn't desperate to just get my shopping done with for the day I wouldn't have gone through with my order. Clerk was unpleasant, did not greet me or have any expression on her face, slapped my order in a bag and I was eager to leave the counter. Seemed like I was bothering her to ask if they had any l cheddar cheese since there was none on display. All of this aside, they had the best greeter I've seen at any Walmart in the country. He truly greeted everyone group of customers, first bumped some people, really made me feel welcome to the store and even remembered me on the way out. I appreciated that as I was having a tough day and it was nice to see a friendly face. Too bad I missed his name tag because I think he deserves a shout out! The store itself was well stocked and had a good selection of the items I needed. Too bad the deli experience was so bad, otherwise I would've awarded more stars for a pleasant overall experience, thanks to the greeter who helped me forget the woman at the deli counter. read more

Not a fan of the grocery pick up! Extremely long wait, order was delayed two hours after the requested pick up window because they were busy according to the email. The app has you check in so that the groceries can be waiting for you for an easy hand off but this location has you check in at a kiosk to get assigned a spot? My app said I was checked in so I didn't, plus no spots available, well they seem to only depend on the kiosk so no point to the app check in at least at this location. Eggs and bread handed to you...guess they're worried about them breaking? Target surpasses the pick up, too bad they don't do groceries. I WISH I COULD GIVE A ZERO! (Location Walmart -Clayton,nc) Anna the team lead on 5/28/22 was very unprofessional. She brought by my groceries out to my car and before putting them in my car . She told me that I'm messing up her time because I check in 35 min ago and they have 5 min to bring the items out to the car. I said excuse me! She repeated herself... I told her that the app says check in when you are on the way and she said NO .. you suppose to checkin when you are pulling in the parking lot. I didn't say another word... it's very unfortunate that I had to experience this type of customer service because I am a sickly person and not able to make my on groceries and someone had to drive me to pick them up. Regardless if she know that or not... I'm the customer and I should have been treat as such! She does not need to be on working on the front line dealing with the public giving out this bad customer service experience! I have been using the curbside side service for years at various Walmarts and have never been told that or treated in this way. Today 11/20/21 @12p approx- I placed an online order for pickup between 6p-7p. I recieved an confirmation email at 12:40pm. At 6:pm I received another email informing me that my order was delayed; and that I will receive another email notifying me it would be ready for pickup. I decided to call the help number. I was informed- per her system- that my order was just recieved at 6pm. Now, I understand stuff happens- but why did I recieve a confirmation that it was received? I'm upset- because since moving to this area and using this particular Walmart- rather it's delivery or online. There's always some kind of problem. Once, I recieved in my delivery- a bag of smelly rotten potatoes that I had to call CS about. Missing items or partial orders. This particular Walmart- is a disaster. Needless to say, I canceled my order. I will no longer shop at at this particular Walmart. Maybe, I just won't shop at Walmart period. Choose a different store for all of your shopping needs. Getting really frustrated with this store, and the WalMart+ ordering. Yesterday was unbelievable! Order picking, and return of 1 OPENED First Aid item on a $148 order was terrible! They picked it, and sent it to my home.Eye drops had been opened, upon return, (yes, we had to drive there,) CS Desk said that while the box was opened, it did not appear that the drops had been opened. The CS Mgr on duty at the Clayton, NC store on 2/14 @2:00 agreed with the Clerk. THESE ARE MY EYES, MY VISION. I already lost sight in 1 eye because of poor judgement by a Dr., i will not let a WalMart clerk assess the safety of an open box of eye drops! it was a simple return, and refund, and they wanted me to risk my sight over $12.? Then, after I contacted WalMart com, instead of crediting my grocery order, as they should have, the store issued a Gift Card. WALMART, NOT SMART Some items on my orders are taking over a month for delivery! The store says that they require masks, and that they spray for Customer protection from COVID-19. The store's grocery pickup dept. is what I'm mostly basing my review on as this is what we've used at the location since Covid appeared last year. If you go there to pick up and there are only a couple cars or so, there are no issues in getting waited on, loaded and on your way pretty quick. However, if you happen to go on a day when there are several lanes of cars in line, you may be there for 45 minutes or beyond. Even though I use the Walmart app to "check in", I'm not sure it helps them keep things moving or actually slows them down. Just today, I was there (they were very busy) and, during the course of my wait, FOUR different employees asked me my name before I finally got loaded after a 45-minute wait. So, I think that dept. is either under-staffed and overwhelmed, disorganized, have poor management or some combination of these. Still, 3 stars overall for the store itself but I'd give the pick-up dept. two stars. read more

I am a subscriber for walmart unlimited delivery service. I ordered groceries online that was due between 6 and 7 pm. It is now 10pm. They cancelled my delivery without any notifications. I had to contact them twice only to be told the second time that the driver cancelled the order and they department is now closed. Where I come from this is not how business is done. I have never returned an item and had to go there to return my 322 car cam that was overheating and was not in the Sun and I had two of them with SD cards. I left one of my bags at checkout a couple of days ago. I called the store to see if they had held onto it. After being bounced around and transferred 5 times, I spoke with Tiarra Mishoe, who said she was the assistant manager. Which, due to her rude tone and dismissive attitude I did NOT expect. She asked which register I had checked out at. I'm not sure if that's a thing, to memorize the registers you check out at in Walmart, but I had no idea. She then asked me if I had my receipt, which I didn't and I know makes everything much more complicated. So she then says there is nothing they can do. Ok now, I happen to know that's not true. My exhusband is a manager at a different location and I called him before I called the store and he told me exactly what to do. But Tiarra was not interested in helping and acted as if my phonecall was an inconvenience to her. I asked to speak to the manager, Cheryl Hayes but was told she was not in. I will be calling or going to the store tomorrow to speak with her and will update my review afterwards. I had never had a problem with this location in the past, and the items I left couldnt have totalled more than 20$ but the complete disrespect and disregard I was treated with is not appropriate when dealing with customers, especially as a part of management. read more

Reviewing for pickup- the last 3 times we have placed an order for a certain time the order was not available during the time selected- being hours later twice-, after checking in and being asked for a name three times have watched others come and go with their groceries waiting an AVERAGE of 45 minutes for groceries; however, as soon as I call to ask what is going on and or to speak to a manager, the groceries miraculously come out within a couple of minutes. We had been having great results until a month or so ago and now it's been messy, ridiculous wait times as the time slot chosen was the "less busy" time yet the order is not ready and the last time I was told "everyone was at lunch" after I had received a text the order was finally ready, my mother waited for 52 minutes for someone to even answer the phone and bring them out only to get home and discover the eggs were broken. We understand understaffing and having to wait, but this has been the norm lately and is unacceptable. A time slot is chosen because that's when it's convenient- not 3-4 hours later with no idea when they might be ready. read more

I have to say I'm really tired of coming to your store and you have nothing on the shelves, and employees trying to stock while people are shopping, and we are in each other's way. Then when you are ready to check out you have 1 maybe 2 max lines open for checkout. 1 of those is usually 20 items and under. So you wait for well over twenty minutes, please forget getting ice cream. You've checked out and go to leave and you have 2 to 3 people sitting in chairs that get up to whomever they choose to treat as though they're thieves asking at what point did you buy this or that so I can find it on your receipt. You should use these people to open up more lines to have good customer service. People don't want to spend all day is your store. You all suck and whoever made these rules and runs this store should be fired, or at least some management training. Negative 10 stars. Definitely one of the lower end Walmart's I've ever been to. read more

Probably the nicest Walmart around this area. The Staff is very nice and the mix of people makes everyone feel welcome. We have been here for everything from tire purchases to produce purchases. Watch the prices. A friend told me that 4 times she was charged higher prices than advertised or marked. I bought 5 items today and the one that was advertised as on sale was charged a higher price. I used my phone camera to record the prices. I challenged the price I was charged and waited twice for the manager to approve the sale price. She commented that someone caught the " error" earlier in the week, but the price was not changed in their computer system. I got a refund for the price difference on the item but not the tax charged. Too tired to go back and challenge that. It's not that I could not afford the higher price, but that they are misleading us with their "lower" prices. I will continue to check what they are charging vs what they are advertising. read more

I went to your store today to shop. I got in line and waited 15-20 minutes to cash my paycheck. When I get up to the desk, the lady tells me that they are not cashing any checks today because they didn't give her any money. This is at 7:30 p.m. I said well can I put all but 200.00 on my card. she said I don"t even have that. She made no effort to try to ask a supervisor or a manager for any money. I want you to know that there were 2 or 3 people in line who was very upset including me. I had just got off from work and on my way home I thought that I could pick up a few things so that I didn"t have to come back out. I shop here all of the time because it's near my house and I really like it . I am a weekly Clayton Walmart shopper and always enjoy the experience. Today I lost my Visa card in the store. When I checked at the Pharmacy, where I last used the card, nobody had turned it in. I was redirected to the Customer Service desk. The manager on duty, Tina Biggey, told me that she did not see a returned Visa card either. However, she apparently did an "all call" to other managers and within minutes, she located my card. She could have easily just told me that the card had not been turned in and dismissed my concern. However, her desire to exhaust efforts to locate the card were greatly appreciated. Her kindness and work ethic are commendable. read more

It's the closest store to me where I can get just about anything I need, which is good, but the prices aren't always as great as you would expect and the cashiers are horrifically slow! I was going to give this store 4 stars until I called and spoke with a less than patient person who got snippy with me because I wasn't sure what department bicycles were in. I thought they were in sporting goods and it turned out they were in toys. But once I got a person in the toy department, that person was very kind to me. She got the information that I needed and was not annoyed with me at all. I do like the cleanliness and brightness of this store. I pass by Walmart in Garner to get to the one in Clayton. I am used to dingy Walmarts with dirty floors and half stocked shelves. This is the cleanest, most well stocked Walmart I have ever been in. When I walk in I literally take a moment to take in its glory. Yes, it is a Walmart so there is a lot of walking and weaving in and out of sections, but hey, it is Walmart. I am proud to call this my neighborhood Walmart. The staff are great. I get my prescriptions here too and they are very helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. read more

DO NOT let the tire folks near your alloy wheels ! Young "urban gentleman" totally gouged my set of wheels with their BS fast and furious handy dandy tire machine. I carried my wheels in with new tires to have a mount and balance done, took them home and put them on my car. My son asked me what the h--- happened to your wheels? All four - gouged up from the pneumatic clamps they use. So now I'm pissed and head on down the road to show them what they did. BAM! bam bam! BAM! All of the wheel weights they put on flew off the wheels as I drove down my street and hit my inner fenderwells. Morons. read more

An onsite order, a TV I had purchased online, never arrived according to the clerk at the store although after tracking the package, it was delivered. Not only was it not delivered according to them but after several trips to walmart, and after being told by telephone that the package was to arrive from South Carolina in three days, and after waiting on hold up to 15 minutes on several occasions, I was forced to cancel my order. In the meantime I had wasted valuable Christmas shopping time and had no Christmas gift for my husband. Something is not right! read more
