The customer service at this location is poor. I truly try to avoid coming to Walmart but was lured with a good Early Black Friday deal. I ordered online with pickup. I got a message saying ready for pickup. Got to store and all pickup lanes full. Parked and realized that only 1 of 2 items were available. Went into store to picked up items and went to purchase since pickup line was ridiculous and no where to park. All 55 stalls were filled. So just imagine how long you have to wait to get curbside items. At customer service station, I was informed that I cannot buy item because not able to until the next day. I explained that I already purchased items and app told me to come. Long story short...unable to buy because Early Black Friday deal. Ok, so I purchase other items. While ringing out those, customer reps behind the counter start saying how they are going to purchase the item that I picked up today. Bragged about how they can buy early...meanwhile I am customer that now has to come twice to the store because the app wrongly informed me my order was ready. I was just super annoyed by the poor customer service from two of the reps. It was just loud, brash and lacking of empathy for wasting my time and gas. Fast forward. I ended up going back the next day for pickup. At least this time there was somewhere to park as I got there at 8:19am. It took only 10 minutes for my items to arrive. I was happy that I informed the store that I was on my way. Only 10 of 55 curbside parking stalls filled. On a more positive note, the medical center was clean. The beauty section has a wide range of multicultural items. Target is usually my jam and it's probably for a reason. If you go here just know it is the wild wild west!!! read more

Wish I could rate this negative stars. I have been to many Walmarts in many states, but this one is the worst by far. Between the unwashed savages that shop here, to the terrible staff, and now locking self checkout behind a pay wall. I was here last week at about 2 pm. Of 25 registers 5 were open. Hunter in Eyewear was a wonderful help picking up my son's glasses. It was a few minutes after the security gate was closed but through them i asked for help. Since the glasses were shipped from out of state he had to go through a couple steps to get them . Hunter afterwards offered help for my son's adjustments if needed. Great energy and concern . This location has the worst curbside pickup service I have ever experienced. Each time I've used this service it was with the optimism that this time would be different and they finally broke me today. Waited 2 hours in the parking lot, my calls to customer service went straight to voicemail. I ended up cancelling my order altogether for a refund and leaving. I am never coming back to this location ever again; I would rather drive out of my way for better service than deal with this bs once again. Ordered some groceries for delivery on Wednesday evening, to be delivered Thursday morning. On Thursday we were notified it would be delayed, no big deal. 5 hours later it's still delayed so we opted for a pickup, our pickup time was 6pm. At 6:34 we pull up and check in on the app around 7 my husband pulls aside an associate to ask why it's taking so long and she said she'd go look. At this point we notice there's about 20 cars waiting for their orders too. At 7:20 we call the number on the sign and we're SENT straight to voicemail. We called a few more times with no answers. At this point other customers are getting upset, at one point a customer go out of their car to ask an employee what was going on. The employee yelled and started to threaten the man, at that point we left. Corporate gave me $10 off a $15 purchase for my troubles. Refund will take 10 days and I cancelled our Walmart + subscription. This is the trashiest Walmart I've been to in years. read more

No dress code which makes it hard to find help as most are donning street clothes and once you do find help it's painfully clear that they take absolutely zero pride in their job. I witnessed a manager berate her one of her team members simply for asking her to for extra cash to complete a Walmart wire transfer which is technically what she was hired to do. This is the filthiest worst run Wal-Mart (or pretty much any store) I have EVER had the misfortune to be in. Even though there are more employees than any other Wal-Mart I have seen, nothing gets done. The useless employees stand around in groups talking or playing with their phones, blocking aisles, refusing to move for customers (if they even bother to acknowledge them) while the shelves remain half empty even though the products are sitting on pallets nearby. When approached to ask anything of them, such as allowing access to shelves they are blocking or where something might be, they are rude and are unwilling to (or incapable of) answer or do anything. This is not oy a few of the employees. This is EVERY EMPLOYEE EXCEPT ONE. I honestly believe that the employees are only working there long enough to be eligible for unemployment benefits, and that management approves. In addition, half the customers are maskless and ignoring any health safety measures. Of course, none of the employees do anything remotely attempting to enforce any of the rules, because plenty of them are maskless or half masked. The produce was of a quality that there was not one item that seamed decent and considering the employees and other customers, I would have felt safer with moldy food from the back of a barely functioning refrigerator than with any unpackaged item here. This location just needs to be closed. It's too far gone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NOTHING IS NECESSARY ENOUGH TO SUFFER THIS STORE. read more

Never got a call from the front desk who lets everyone in, nor the driver, as other deliverers do when they can't find something. And it got returned to the store. This was the first Walmart store in Chicago. It is a very large store with many departments. You can find lots of items here, but they're out of stock a lot of the time. This store is messy, the clothing cheaply made, employees are either never around or not helpful. Merchandise selection is very poor. Items are out of stock a lot of the time. If I could do negative stars I would the majority of the staff here have no sense of urgency and very poor attitudes. There is always extremely long wait time and the staff members will talk amongst themselves like they don't see customers in line using profanity. I've seen employees ring up their friends numerous times then tell you their closed after you waited in long for an extended period of time. The staff makes you feel like you're inconveniencing them if you ask any questions or just roll their eyes walk away act like they didn't hear you say excuse me. On a search for a snow innertube for my son, I had heard that Wal Mart had the goods. Haven't stepped into a Wal Mart in ten years, and it will probably be ten more after this visit. Produce is right by the door, nice touch. And prices are so low, I couldn't pass up grabbing a few things. But then things quickly turned south. Getting around customers in the store is near impossible, and whole families from babies to grandads are clogging the aisles, oblivious that other people are shopping too. Some things in Wal Mart are cheaper and some are not. Deodorant was completely picked over, and they didn't carry my brand, anyway. So I head to pick up the innertube, my reason for this whole headache. After looking through Sporting Goods and the Toys section, no snow toys at all in the beginning of January! So I asked an Associate and she was really quite helpful. She said they never carried them at this location and have also shrunk their stock, to boot. Checkout was THE worst experience, ever. I think my checkout lady had "checked out" of life long ago. Slow, making mistakes left and right, a line out the door that wasn't moving at all. And it was like this at every register. On a weeknight. The only good thing I have to say about Wal Mart being in this location, is that it serves the local community with low prices on groceries. Letter sent to Walmart: For the second time, I have been gravely disappointed by my experiences at Walmart's pharmacy. First, the good: Half of the employees I have been in personal contact with during my disgruntled experiences have been very pleasant and apologetic. On Saturday, October 15th, I dropped off a prescription. I was told it would be ready on Sunday. When I returned on Sunday, I was told it was not in stock and had to be ordered, but that it would be filled by Monday. I was frustrated by this and asked the clerk why no one had bothered to inform me that the prescription would not be filled in the timeline originally indicated. He told me he did not know, which lead me to believe that informing the customer in the event of a status change was generally standard practice. When I returned on Monday, I was again told my prescription was not ready because the medication had not come in. When I returned on Tuesday and went to the counter, I was told again that my prescription was not ready. Upon my nice, but frustrated protests, the pleasant clerk sought assistance and found that the order had arrived, but my prescription had not been filled. I waited 20 minutes and walked out with my prescription after four trips to the Walmart pharmacy. So, when I needed a refill, I followed the instructions on my bottle and called two days in advance. I called this past Sunday and the automated message told me to pick-up my prescription after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. When I arrived at Walmart this evening to pick-up my prescription, I was told my prescription was not ready and that it, most likely, won't be until Thursday. Again, I was asked why no one bothered to notify me that my prescription would not be ready in the time frame indicated. Unfortunately, the clerk had no answer. This particular prescription ran out tonight and is not one that should be missed. I am deeply frustrated with each and every experience I have had at this pharmacy and hope you will shed some light on the inefficient, inconsiderate service I have received. To have made as many trips as I have is utterly ridiculous and indefensible and exacerbated by the fact that refilling my prescription is shaping up to be a very similar experience. For once, I actually agree with many of the 1-3 star reviewers because many of their reviews are accurate of what I encountered. I came here after a hot sweaty run at the 606 - Bloomingdale trail, and totally did not feel out of place, why? People of Walmart, hehe, need I say more? My reason for stopping in was to purchase some underwear, and while heading towards the shelf I overheard a female employee having a conversation with a male employee about her having an interest in getting a "pussy" tattoo. At that moment, I realized I entered a place beyond ghetto, and wait because it did not stop there. While in that same section, but looking at Chicago Cubs t-shirts I encountered a panhandler, yep! A panhandler inside of Walmart, and the first thing he asked me was "You gotta dolla'n sum'n". Yep! That encounter right there was the highlight of my evening at this Walmart, and I just had to share that with my sister over the phone because it put a smirk on my face during my entire visit because I have never been asked for money inside of a Walmart. I have to say that I was disappointed entirely with the selection of men's clothing: shirts, jeans, shorts, underwear, hats, and athletic wear? There actually wasn't any athletic wear period now that I think of it. I guess athletic wear for men doesn't apply to this Walmart. I have to say that out of every Walmart I have stepped foot in this is by far 'the' ghettoest! And I remind you I have been to many throughout my life. Might as well make it a grocery store instead because that was the only thing that wasn't a lackluster at this location. Part of me knew what I was getting myself into because of the area, but i didn't think it could've been that bad. According to Google this is a 4 star Walmart, but I honestly rate it a 2 1/2 star. I don't think so. Parking lot: a mess. It wraps around the building and has all kinds of opportunities for accidents. Entrance: a mess. The entrance and exit are in the same place. When you enter, if you continue forward then you'll be at the end of the register lines. If you turn right, you'll enter the store. Isles: They're literally a mess. I saw freezer doors left wide open in the freezer section. I saw merchandise on the floor. The shelves were not orderly. The shelves were not fully stocked. Specialness: There is blue tape on the floor showing people which direction to head down isles. WEIRD. More Specialness: I waited at the register for a few minutes while FOUR employees talked talked talked. One of them eventually said, "So and so? You have a customer." So and so walked back and forth a couple times gathering her belongings before scanning my items. I told her that I didn't want a bag. What does she do? She bags my stuff. Thanks for nothing. P.S. Welcome to the hood!! This Walmart should be on welfare. This Walmart has weave stuck in the wheels of all shopping carts. This Walmart does not have carts that roll normally. They either roll to the left, roll to the right or not at all. Be prepared to stand in line for an hour and even though there are 40 registers there will only be about 4 occupied by disgruntled employees. If you have a question regarding the location of where you might find a product, be prepared to get hit with " DAT AINT MAH DEPARTMENT!" I hate it here, there's never any damn parking! This is the Wal-Mart where the ghetto goes to die. I pulled into a parking spot to very nearly get hit with a wayward shopping cart on a collision course for the car next to mine, dispensed by a rowdy group of teens intent on getting home to drink. Classy. This Wal-Mart is exceptionally dirty. I'm from Iowa - there are eleventy-billion Wal-Marts packed with farm people spread across my state - the stores there look like sparkling jewels of modernity and cleanliness compared with this one. A thin layer of funk - despair, perhaps - has settled onto everyone and everything within this store. Half of the inventory is out of stock or shoved onto a random shelf halfway across the store. Boxes that used to hold the industrial-strength bras were torn, emptied and littered around the intimates section. It's full of screaming infants, loose, foul-mouthed children and other people who seem to have no issue with screaming at each other many aisles apart. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one is because there was a youngish Latino guy at the paint counter who was very precise about mixing paint and was at the moment I wandered by very, VERY patiently explaining to a customer the difference between exterior and interior paint. Oh, yes. He went on to say that his job is "what you get for not going to college." The customer agreed, but then asked why he didn't go to college. He explained that he was attending college presently. And looking forward to getting a real job. God love the kid for having aspirations. I bought nothing. As I pulled out of the parking lot, I narrowly missed getting spit on by one of the parking lot attendants. Oh my ghettoness...get your toes cuz this place is off the map ghetto!! Walmart had a kick-arse Father's Day special this weekend, and I needed to pick up a PS3 for myself. I looked up Walmart.com to find the nearest one by my condo, and this one appeared first. I was a little hesitant when I first saw the address, but I figured why not. 3.02 miles, that's pretty nice. I'm not too smart. To no fault of Walmart, traffic was insane on Saturday. The PR parade was going down on North Ave, so that extended my travel plans by 45 minutes. No big deal though. When I pulled into the lot, the only available parking was towards the back of the parking lot. I parked my car, headed for the front door...and then the fun started. There was a fight, and some sort of American Idol session going on at the same time right in front of the store. These two kids were fighting over something, while this gal was belting out some Maria Carry-sounding lyrics...I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. I quickly put my head down and walked in the store. Hey, Capri Sun is on sale...wow, when is the last time I had that? I quickly made my way to the back on the store where the electronics are at. There was one PS3 left, so I stood in line to ask one of the workers behind the counter to open up the display case and get me what I needed. Nope...couldn't happen because the lady in front of me was trying to fight the cashier for some stupid reason. I stood there in shock for about 10 minutes, trying to figure out why they were almost going to box each other out. Meanwhile, I'm looking around wondering if this is a common occurrence. No one else looked like they had a problem with it. I now started thinking that the Walmart in Niles may have been the better choice... Finally, the confrontational customer took her ass out of line and continued to argue to the side of the counter. Nice, now it's my turn! I asked the next available cashier for the PS3 out of the display case, and she looked pissed. Not quite sure why, but she wasn't happy I was buying it. Now I'm just ready to leave. This place is starting to take it's toll on me. I finally had her retrieve the PS3, paid for the damn thing....and I still knew I wasn't out of the shit yet. Now I had to make my escape plan to get out of the store. As I was walking out, I was getting looks like I had a big chocolate cookie in my hand. I started out the sliding door, and one of the 18 year old security guards had to check my receipt. I wanted to grab his billy club and swing my way back to my car, cuz I knew I was gonna run into some sort of problem leaving Walmart with a 399.00 piece of equipment. Sure enough, I make it outside...and the same two kids that were fighting earlier were now begging for money. And Maria Carry was with them as well.
