If you're thinking about Walmart Supercenter in Alamosa, CO, you better Ala-WHOA-sa on those expectations, y'all. So perhaps I'm being too critical. Then again, I don't think I am. Here's all the irritatin' s*** about this place: - parking... nobody from the onslaught of Subarus to the ginormous lifted pickup trucks knows how to park between the lines - per usual Walmart fashion, choosing a decently rolling cart is a chore - getting assistance from an employee is less likely than your contracting the plaque - most things my cowboy needs or desires they are out of or in extremely limited supply. Go figure. - loser teenage girls walking around scoffing because "they can't steal something when it's behind the glass." - 9 times out of 10 no one is working the counter in the sporting goods section PROS + lowest prices in town + we love the Asian guy who was working the pharmacy side exit on Father's Day 2023... where is he? Their customer service. The girl at the self check out had no idea about customer service. There was no sign posted at the entrance of the self checkout that it was limited to 15 items and the sign at the register itself was above my head and I didn't see it. The employee comes to me after I had started scanning my groceries and said it's 15 items like the sign says. I said sorry I didn't see the sign and said since I've started can I finish she rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders then when I got to 15 items it stopped letting me scan until she came over to scan her badge. She could have handled that so differently! If she would have said to me when I was starting"I'm sorry but it will only let you scan 15 items" I would have said ok and went to another checkout. I just counted my items and checked out 2 more times and finished my scanning. There is a really nice grocery store up the street that I will spend my next 300.00 for groceries! read more

Don't get oil changed here. They stripped the drain plug. Cost lots of money to get it fixed.

This store has everything. I shop here for food and just about everything else. They have great prices and it's close by.

One of the worst Walmarts I have ever been too! We live here and I would rather drive to pagosa springs than spend my money here! No customer service they will have lines for miles rather than open a few check stands. Nobody wants to help you and when you ask you get attitude. Astonishingly bad store. Imagine this, they no longer bag your groceries and they do not provide bags even for sale. So there you are with a grocery cart full of loose items that can the roll around in your car. Worst service ever, will no longer shop there! read more

Our community settles for little because we live in a small town, however these low standards are what sets small towns like this up for failure. I am not an angry person and sometimes I can get in and out of Walmart with no disturbances. As a student who dedicates hours a day to becoming a scholar, and a worker making minimum wage, my trip(s) to Walmart today were incredibly irritating. Because I needed a new house-key, I figured my local neighborhood Walmart would be the best (and most obvious) solution. I drove to Walmart to get a new key, and it didn't work. No biggie, I went back and they made me another key. DIDN'T WORK, AGAIN. No big deal! I called them and they said that I can go back and get another key (thanks for pointing out the obvious). So, I go back to Walmart and they make me a new key. Now I'm guessing you know what happens next! Yup, the key doesn't work again. I call them, I am put on hold for 30 minutes (30 minutes of MY time in which I barely get any to myself, I dedicated to this phone call.) They told me that all they can do is refund me (like what, $2?), and go somewhere else. Walmart needs new workers, new management that ACTUALLY answers the phone when paying customers have a question/concern (maybe larger than mine), etc. Also, I asked for the manager during both phone calls and they basically refused to let me speak to the manager (as if they were of any help). I am starting to hate this disgusting town more and more by the day. If we want better quality products and strong communities, we need to complain sometimes (in the least "Karen" way possible). Although this won't lead to perfection, it will allow for feedback and improvement, which will better our community one day at a time. Usually people have good experiences at Walmart's or big successful chain stores, but mine was extra good. I went to buy makeup and my dad gave me 10 dollars. I tried my best to stay under the limit but went 37 cents over. I was trying to remove it from the system and she came over and said, "I wanna see you get that." And literally gave me two quarters. It's things like this that make my day, I cried my eyes out...lol. This really hit close to my heart. Some people are just so kind. read more

Ok, so it's Walmart. Well, this is no ordinary Wally world in this town. My FH is from a small town near here and we come down to "The Valley" as much as possible and this is the only, yes, only place around that you can buy anything. Unless you go to Big R, but I don't need a salt lick or gun, so wally world it is. They carry many items for rural communities such as salt licks too. Where do you see salt licks in a Denver Walmart?!? This is like your local indoor mall as everyone comes here for anything and everything. To hang out, shop, mingle or just because you don't want to stay home. Everyone knows everyone and we have never left the store without my FH running into everyone he knows there. I will start off this review being blatantly honest, I hate Walmart with every ounce of my being. At home I refuse to shop Walmart but I'm fortune enough to live in a city where other grocery stores stay open past 10PM. In Alamosa this is the go to place after 10PM. When I walked into Walmart there were shopping carts available to me. That in itself is a bonus. The store was clean and organized. I was greeted by THREE store associates while shopping. That is unheard of in Albuquerque. There were registers open and I was checked out within 5 minutes of getting in line. My cashier, Brandy, was efficient, cordial, and aware of other folks waiting in line. She let them know I'll be with you in one moment. Today the Alamosa Walmart gave my customer service I rarely see. Budget cuts and task oriented associates have dampened customer service and I understand why. Everyone else could take some tips from the Alamosa Walmart. Now if Walton wasn't such a turd Walmart might have gained some status in my book. For now I'm going to continue to stick with employers who pay a living wage to all of their associates. However, I will not soon forget this experience. read more

I frequent this Walmart, and the auto services and by far the worst I've ever witnessed. I stood and waited for the "service tech" who didn't even know that they were the service tech for over 35 minutes. They would have far more service if they were more attentive instead of just sending people to others who might have the answers. Absolutely pitiful. read more

The stores layout is different from many Walmart's I'm used to but it seemed well stocked and had a great outdoor section good for any campers hikers or even hunters. The store seems tailored to the area. I used self check out as I always do and things went smoothly for me. I would say this is a pretty good Walmart all in all. read more

The tire center saved our family vacation. On the day before Christmas we were traveling through Alamosa and had a flat tire. Every service and tire store was closed. We had a hotel reservations in Pagosa. We called the Walmart tire center and they could help. We arrived at 1:30 and were back on the road in just over an hour. It turned out we had two nails in the tire and one went in sideways. They fixed both with great service and a price that was low! A sincere thank you to the Walmart tire team working on Christmas Eve. We had a great trip. read more
