Tractor Supply has become a staple for my cowboy & his animals. We came here on 10/28/2023 for trailer light accessories, feed, and a few other items. Each time I have visited this store, it has been tidy and mostly clean. The section that impresses me most is their livestock feed area... it basically has its own room for the multiple pallets of feed sacks. The drawback for me was the lack of price signage. I heat my home with wood pellets. I bought these from several local businesses over the last six plus years, and quite frankly the local experience made me resort to Lowe's in Pueblo, and finally to Lowe's in New Mexico. I came back to the valley a couple years ago. I buy three plus tons of pellets every winter. So I spend just under $1,000.00 a year for wood pellets. One local store sold me my yearly purchase and delivered it. I was promised they were premium, high quality wood pellets, with little fly ash, and minimal clinkers. Turns out every morning I had to remove a large clinker from the fire pot or the stove wouldn't lite. I went back to the local company and when I complained I was told they were just repeating what their salesman told them. I just figured it was something I would have to live with. The next year I was told the pellets were better quality, so I bought another three plus tons. They delivered them and stacked them in my garage and left. Heating time came and we started to haul bags of pellets into the house. Our of the first ten bags, eight had large holes in them. I went back to that local store and talked to the people that delivered them, they said there was nothing they could do about it, I would have to talk to accounting. I called them, they acknowledged the problem but that was about it. So we took a bag off the pile after duct taping the visible holes. Lived with if for the rest of the year, loosening several pounds of pellets on the ground and living room floor. This spring I saw all the piles pellets stacked by Tractor Supply and decided to give them a try. They didn't deliver, so I brought my flatbed trailer and bought three tons. Since I am disabled I couldn't unload any of the pellets in my garage. Well I had two close friends that offered to help, and they unloaded everything in my garage in just under an hour. I found that the pellets I had did not burn well in my stove. I went to Tractor Supply and talked to Dave, the Store Manager. I figured I was in for another runaround like I got in Monte Vista. I was wrong, Dave said he was sorry for the issue and would replace the ones I bought bag for bag, but since they don't deliver I would have to get them back to the store. It took me a while but I got 18 bags in the back of my truck. Dave unloaded them and loaded 18 bags of the other brand in my truck. He asked how many more bags I had at home and told him that I had 47 more. He told me to not load any more, that he would come up with something. The something he came up with was him loading 47 bags of the pellet brand I wanted in his personal truck and bringing them out to my house on HIS DAY OFF. He unloaded them stacking them in my garage, and loading up the other pellets. I was surprised he did that with his own truck, on his own time. When I asked if I could pay him for his time and trouble, he said no Sir, I was brought up to respect my elders, especially the disabled. Even though Tractor Supply, doesn't deliver, he saw the need and helped out on his own time and at his own expense to make a customer happily with his store. To me, this means a lot. I will be a loyal Tractor Supply customer for years to come. To Dave's parents who ever they are, you did an excellent job of raising a son to a Outstanding MAN!
