Went in for garden supplies=mulch, planting soil, etc. I seem to always be disappointed w/the WM in Salem, NH so I'll travel a bit further to go to Plaistow. One item in the gardening shop had no price. I stopped a very busy clerk and she checked the price for me with a smile. I further ordered my 6 bags of mulch & 2 bags of soil using her order cards at the register. She found the items I requested and rang up the order. My concern was no one is usually available in the garden area to put the stuff in your car (these items are a bit to heavy for me) but she assured me she'd find someone and by the time I went out and brought my car around, there was a young man waiting for me. Kudos to the clerk for following thru (with a smile) and the very police and helpful lot clerk for assistance. I would like to say here, tho, that WM has the staff pile shelves too high. The average home shopper is a woman, the average woman is 5'4" tall...so why are the shelves about 6 feet with boxes on top of boxes? (Please understand this has nothing to do with the gardening center clerk that assisted today, it is a complaint I have about WM in general and some day hope someone will listen.) read more

Electronics dept needs more support. Have broken foot & waited to pick up photos I was notified were ready. Waiting for 15 min+ with a broken foot while cashier ran around trying to c/o another customer with no explanation what was going on. The store itself is good -- the selection and prices are quite satisfactory -- but the customer service is simply terrible. Cashiers overcharge customers, and when you point out a mistake, instead of an apology you are sent elsewhere to deal with it. Supervisors behave rudely and dismissively, making customers feel unwelcome. It is very disappointing that such a good store has such poor and unprofessional service. I paid for 19 items but received only 18 and was forced to waste my time, nerves, and mood trying to figure out why I was overcharged, while facing rude and unacceptable treatment from the staff.The cashier voided Tetra Food and immediately scanned it again, leaving two units charged while only one was physically present. There is no logical reason for re-scanning the item after voiding it!!! When my money was refunded, already on my way out of the store, I approached the cashier again and showed the receipt as proof that a mistake had indeed been made. I calmly explained that this is not the correct way to work, especially considering that earlier she insisted everything was fine and that there was no mistake. After the supervisor heard our conversation, she rudely interrupted it, cutting me off, and in a raised tone began saying "have a good day" while pointing toward the entrance door. This is what top-level service and customer care look like! Unfortunately, in order to get their money back for an incorrect charge, customers have to experience the full "pleasure" of this kind of service. Only at the service center did a kind woman treat me with understanding. She re-counted the items with me from the beginning and processed them again in order to print a receipt confirming the mistake.It is very disappointing, because I genuinely like this store -- the products, the selection, and the prices. When I asked the cashier if I could go look at them, she said no one can go back there. the only way to see the trading cards is so far off that you can't tell what's there. Just a PSA for any dog parent that brings their dog in. If you are going to use a carriage either put a towel for them to sit on or don't use a carriage at all. The manager was nice enough to explain why my pup needed a blanket underneath for sanitary reasons. (Even though the carriages are disgusting on their own without a dog in them). Manager said he doesn't mind having dogs in the building, he sparked a conversation with me and was very nice to my pup and I. Checked out and went on my way. Good man just trying to do his job so corporate doesn't fire him I respect it, but to the lady at fabrics that probably reported me and had nothing better to do, ya good job the world is a safe place now, you tattle tailed on the cute innocent puppy that was quiet and wasn't bothering you, but the kid down the isle screaming and wiping his boogers and licking the carriage handle was okay. I came here to buy a new vacuum. Its a Bissell Power Force TURBO bagless. It rocks for a vacuum. Only paid $65 bucks. It sucks and sucks...... I came to this Wally World because the one in Salem had a inventory issues so I came here. This is not a supercenter (non grocery). I did like that it was less crowded and crazy then Salem. Customer service is officially dead in this location. The associates seem to barely exist in this store but even more so when you need assistance. Against my better judgment I stopped in for a game. There were no associates at the electronics counter. Finally one showed up wheeling a cart of tvs and then completely ignored my "excuse me" Another bored man sitting by the phones I asked if they worked electronics "just phones" and ignored me after. Finally someone showed up and still ignored me even though we were standing face to face at the counter. I said can you help me the answer was "yeah when I finish filing these". I went to walmart in plaistow last night to have keys made. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to help me ..the manager Leslie came over and sincerely apologized for the wait and explained they had 2 delivery trucks come at once. He was super helpful with making me my keys. He was extremely pleasant and even though he was constantly paged over the intercom , during our interactions he gave me his 100% attention. He even comped a spare key for the wait and my patience. I wasnt even in a rush but I just wanted to say Leslie went above and beyond in his job execution and customer service. I went to this Wal-Mart on 9/26/19. There were many customers trying to " check out" there were only 2 registered open to the far right. The other registers were all " self checkouts ", however at every single register, there was a cashier assisting each and every customer !!!! Everyone got in the real live cashiers aisles, I didn't care about waiting. However Wal-Mart being a multi billion dollar company should be ashamed. They are saving no money as the cashiers should just open a register. It was noted all the Wal-Marts are pulling this stunt. It took them twice as long to scan people out who were obviously annoyed. Not a very good way to feel after you drop a couple of hundred at the store. The management says she has no choice, and people liked it. I guarantee you that if they took a poll the American public would vote thumbs down. I will leave my cart completely full and walk out next trip if it is like that and start going where 90% registers are open. When I am in company, the subject comes up and we all hate it. I guarantee a lot of theft is going on with that self check out. The staff kind of look like idiots babysitting an aisle, they are still getting the same wages. I placed an order today for store pickup and my wife was going to stop on her way home from work to pick it up. I tried to add her as a pickup person but the website would not accept the email address so I text the screenshot of the order verification from Walmart to her. I then called the store to see if she could pick it up by showing the screenshot but they said no so I asked them if they could add her because of the problem I was having and they said no. Language barrier and unwilling to help customers. Nice enough workers but if you can't communicate with several workers to find what you need in the store, then you have to leave and buy from someone else. If the workers aren't motivated enough to help customers find items, then it's easier to go somewhere else. Next time, I will just go somewhere else. Also, items sold on Walmart.com by an outside vendor can not be returned at Walmart. Walmart did not stand by the product sold on their website. Comparing this store with Seabrook, NH... The Plaistow store is by far cleaner, more organized, and has more items all the time than Seabrook. However, this store has some pros and cons to it. It's not a Super Store, which would be nice in this area, but it does offer grocery items. It typically doesn't have a large quantity of big and tall men clothing, but has more than Seabrook. There are some days that when you walk in, there is so much disorganization that you wonder what the management is thinking as far as keeping the store clean and orderly. Expect a mess on the shelves after a holiday. The day after Black Friday, the store was a disaster. They should have enough people on staff to keep the place clean and orderly. As for the staff for registers, the management do not provide enough staff during busy times, so you can expect to easily wait in line longer than 15 minutes. My average wait in time during the day has been between 10 to 20 minutes, which is ridiculous. I expect stores of this size to fill the registers with staff when 10 to 15 people are standing in line waiting to check out. They do not do that which is unfortunate. You don't get the one-on-one care in this store as you would with a smaller store either. Though, the staff are generally friendly enough. read more

Unfortunately I USED to be a huge Walmart fan but over the last few years, I've come to really dislike it! For starters, I don't find their prices that low any more and am able to get all of my cleaning products ( which is a ton- I'm a private housekeeper), paper products and such at Market Basket for WAY cheaper... My biggest complaint is their coupon policy!!! I am no extreme couponer but I try to use them to my advantage and save anything I can, but Walmart makes it very difficult to save even 50 cents!!! I've tried using coupons there and it is almost always a problem and I have to explain how the coupon works, explain I bought the exact item listed and half the time need to speak with a manager!!! About a month ago I had a coupon for a free Hershey's candy bar when I bought one. Well, I bought 12- two 6 packs, spending about $6 on just Hershey's candy bars, I presented my 74 cent coupon for the free bar and the clerk argued with me trying to say that I needed to buy a single bar to get the free one. When I re- read the coupon she tried to tell me I needed to buy two. The real problem was she needed to enter the amount of the free bar. It was such a hassle I said forget it. I know it was 74 cents but it was a manufacturer coupon that should've been honored. Because if the increase in coupon use, Walmart has completely changed their policy making it very difficult to use coupons at all! If it doesn't scan they immediately tell you you cannot use it when 9 times out of 10, it's the correct coupon they just don't want to honor it!!! They don't have a rewards program yet either... This particular store also has very little in stock almost all the time!!! They are a smaller Walmart but in my opinion that means it should be easier to stock the shelves!!! In order to keep customers coming back, they need to keep them stocked so you're always able to find what you're looking for!!! More times than not, I cannot find the item I'm looking for because they've run out! This is extremely frustrating since the next nearest Walmart is a 30 minute drive... If what I'm looking for isn't in the shelf and I ask someone to check out back, they won't. I'm very familiar with not only this store chain but retail in general- my husband has been in retail management for years... Even at Walmart! I know better!!! The lines are always long and they seem understaffed most if the time!!! They also do not mark down damaged items like other stores which can mean huge savings!!! I was buying charcoal and several bags were ripped open and spilling out, I asked the sales associate in the area if they'd mark down the damaged bags and she said no! She didn't even ask a manager, who might give you a 10% discount on the item... If it was Market Basket they'd chop the price in half- without being asked!!! They also do not honor their own commercial advertisement!!! The one that says you don't need a flyer to prove a competitors price is better! Ive been asked to produce proof! That'd be fine if their commercial said otherwise! Plus not all in store deals are in a flyer- good thing I have my iPhone ;) The only purchases I make at Walmart these days are for diapers- they are the cheapest!!! read more

I purchased a straight talk card at Walmart mart and was informed that the card was scanned incorrectly therefore my minutes could not be added. I had to send in a copy of my receipt and both sides of the service card. Straight talk has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Do NOT join straight talk/tracfone !!! Twice I have had to use the pharmacy at this store. Both times I called ahead and was told that the script was currently being worked on and would be ready in time for my pickup later that afternoon. Both times, I had to wait over 30 minutes while they filled the script, answered incoming calls etc. Since the co-pay is the same where ever I get the script fille, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This Walmart is OK. It's kind of a bummer they stopped selling fresh fruit and vegetables like a real super Walmart would be doing. I had to return a shirt and had the receipt showing it was like 15 dollars and because the price dropped to 9 dollars she could only return that amount. WITH A RECEIPT. The cashiers can sometimes be unfriendly like today I had to pick up an online order and this heavy set guy finally comes out from the back with no "Hi, how are you?" Nothing. He just stands there as another guy tall husky, dark hair also comes from the back again no hello, and has a REAL attitude like he's totally disgusted to be waiting on me.
