Manager told him unfortunately he has to sell to me, then proceeded to berate me in front of 2 lines of customers, saying "Oh, you're one of those Penny Queens. This store is notorious for penny shoppers like you. Well, I'm the new manager now, and that's going to change now that I'm in charge." I told her I guess they'd rather have perfectly good product sitting in a landfill. I let her know that I donate all the items I find for a penny, asked if the store does the same or whether they toss it. She claims she herself donates to veterans. I said GREAT! Not sure why she took issue with me donating perfectly good product to my local women's shelters and food pantry. I urge all "Penny Queens" to continue to shop here and say hello to the new manager with a power trip and attitude. :) Also, what is it about Dollar Trees always smelling like weed? But I…read moredo expect to find good deals on certain types of products - and that's the case here - basic food products, a variety of olive oils, Bob's Red Mill products, health and beauty aids, school supplies, and of course a huge assortment of rugs. This particular store had a bit less lawn and garden supplies than others I've visited (but still quite a bit), and instead focused more on patio and pool supplies. One unexpected surprise was a good assortment of luggage. The store is very brightly lit, clean and well organized. I'd probably only come here for specific items, but I know I'd get a good variety and deal on those items.

I bring in an older mentally ill gentleman who loves music. He is odd and can be scary but is always treated with the utmost of respect (somehting that does not happen almost anywhere else where he is stared it, ignored or treated with the utmost of disrespect). He gave them a list of old music that he hoped to own and they found it all and more of similar genre. He loves to just go in and sit with them for hours chatting music. Just wonderful, kind people. And if you need electronic repairs they can do it, small or large.

You can barely make in through the aisles. I'm not sure what is available in the front room - if there isn't a giant stuffed animal blocking your view, there are boxes in the way. You want to see the jewelry in the front case. You can't. Too much junk in the way. If you make your way into the front side room, it is pretty tidy in there. That's where you'll find clothes, books, and puzzles. I checked the price of a paperback book - $2. Puzzles were between $2 and $5 (some new). If you make your way to the back room there is kitchenware and kids' toys. A used cheese grater that was originally $9 was marked $5. Too much for this cheapo. A vintage looking electrical appliance was $75. I don't know what is was, but that seems way too pricey for any small kitchen appliance. I was interested in some of the china, but it was packed in too tight with coffee cups ($2) dangling from hooks in front of them. Removing a plate would be like playing Jenga with glass blocks. They need to have a sale and get rid of some of the junk that is just in the way. People can't buy things if they can't see them. Do like other thrift stores and figure out a way to identify how long something has been on the store floor, and then automatically drop the price after a month or whatever. I know you want to make as much as you can for the charity, but if people can't see what you're selling, they won't buy it. If you price it too high for your clientele, it won't sell either. You can't raise money for the charity by just hoarding stuff! I do want to point out that the women who work here are very nice!

Beyond the great mission and extremely nice staff, however, it is just a fantastic thrift store. I was drawn in by a beautiful, spindly but sturdy bookcase sitting outside of the shop. Taking into account that the item looked like an antique and was very sturdy, I assumed that that a fair flea market price would be around $40.00, but all that they wanted was $12. Astonished by the deal, I decided to dig around a little bit more. Behind the small and unassuming store front is a veritable cavern of Halloween costumes, ice skates, and more kitchen items that you can shake a stick at. Love it and will definitely be back.

If she wants to be my personal shopper while I'm in the store, who am I to stop her?. So she took my list and led me around the store. They didn't have a few of the things on the list, one of which was yellow bean sauce, but she actually called her sister (must be a family-run store) to ask if she knew if they carried that product. They don't, unfortunately, but A+ for going above and beyond my customer service expectations. Yesterday's visit was such an awkward yet pleasant experience. I wanted to raise my rating to five stars, but they didn't have several of the goods I was looking for, so I'll leave it at four.

I was trying to purchase a recliner for my grandmother in MA but I live several states away. I found a couple of recliners which she would like and called Mario's and Debbie told me that they could get both recliners, the pricing and realistic delivery timelines. Mario's had a lower price than any other store in the area and a much better warrantee (5 years vs 1) than any other store who sold the same chairs. They also we extremely helpful with ordering the chair. Debbie kept me up to date on the status of the chair and she made a special effort to schedule delivery of the chair to my grandmother on a day that was best for her. I imagine that Debbie pulled some strings with the delivery men to make the special day and time work. It was exceptionally nice of her and helpful to my grandmother. The delivery men were prompt, polite and perfect according to my grandmother. When she or any of my relatives in MA or NH need furniture you bet we are going to Mario's.
