The store is located in Smart Centres Oakville and has lots of parking spots available. It is a big well-maintained superstore and they have been keeping it clean, especially during Covid-19 pandemic. It has a great collection of fresh vegetables and fruits. I am not a fan of Walmart back home in the States because it is usually over crowded and it is hard to get any help. This was entirely different. Not busy on a Saturday morning and the employees were super nice. Thought it was also very cool that they had so many aisles dedicated to foods from others countries like Britain, Portugal and India. This is my favourite Walmart! It's huge and bright with wide aisles for you to browse through. It is a Walmart Supercentre so it also includes a stocked grocery section. They had some nice finds like Starbucks branded hot chocolate in classic and salted caramel flavors that had way less artificial fillers than the Carnation or Timmies ones. I also saw that they had full sized Classico pasta sauce on sale that was 3 for $10. Normally a jar is about $4, maybe a tad more depending on which grocery store you go to. There are a ton of checkout aisles here, including 2 self check out areas. Not all of them may be open depending on how busy it is but I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. The bonus at this Walmart is that the McDonald's is legit! It has the full menu and a good amount of seating. read more

please continue to provide hand sanitizer or wipes for the carts. Carts and baskets are no longer being cleaned or sanitized by the staff and the staff says management no longer wants to nor are required to provide sanitizer for those who would like to clean our handles. I was told to bring my own !!! Awful awful awful delivery service. They gave us a time slot for delivery, no other info. We waited the whole allotted hour - no groceries. Upon calling customer service, we were directed to the Oakville store. They told us that the driver couldn't find our appartement building, DID NOT NOTIFY ANYONE, and returned to the store with our groceries. Really?? Google maps got us here, what was his issue? Walmart gives me terrors and a lot of psychological damage because it brings out my split personality - the local entrepreneur and sustainable growth person in me says "F*ck you Walmart", the pure capitalist in me says "That's life" and then the Asian in me says "Price match! - save gas and money!" Depending on my mood, any one of these three can win on any given day. Putting aside my complex psychological disorder Walmart has given me, here's the lo-down on this. a) Most groceries are fresh and just as fresh as Superstore. b) Their meat is actually decent quality with the exception of the steak (terrible) c( For their meat, if you aren't satisfied, you can ask for your money back. We bought two steak pre-packed, cooked one and it was tough as nails. Went back the next day and gladly gave us our money back d) Don't expect service and recommend buying electronics somewhere else e) Furniture is mediocre So probably only few things worth getting from Wal-mart are groceries, cleaning supplies, stationery and greeting cards.And hey, their stuff last longer than Dollarama. :-) read more

Every Walmart is exactly the same and you either love or hate the place, so I won't waste your time by talking about the cheap groceries, etc. THIS REVIEW is strictly for the Photo Developing area, which is amazing. When Oakville Place Blacks took one hour to develop ONE 8x10 photo from the kiosk, and gave us a photo with the head cropped off, we had to make a quick detour to Walmart to remedy the situation (It would've taken 1.5 hrs to reprint at Blacks because "that' just how long it takes"). At Walmart, our new photo printed in seconds and looked much better than Blacks. You can pay at the photo area, and they have a very helpful staff member showing people how to use the self-serve machines so that you don't have to wait too long. Very good service and much more useful than a professional store. read more

My go-to walmart! It has everything from a garden center, to a deli section, a pharmacy, a mcdonald's, and all your other groceries and home needs. Now, I might be a bit biased as I have worked here 2 times in the past (Men's Clothing department - before it became a "Supercenter" and Overnight Backroom worker - after it came a "Supercenter"). I like this store because everything is laid out in a sensible manner, and it is very easy to navigate. Another thing I like about this store is the express checkout (I'm sure most Walmarts have this now) and I am happy that they recently re-implemented the self-checkouts. Sometimes it's just quicker to do it yourself! A new service I used for the first time last week was the Grab&Go locker - which this store has! This allows me to purchase anything from Walmart.ca and ship it to the store for free. When it is delivered to the store, it is placed in one of these lockers, and you are emailed a PIN code. Once you arrive at the store to pick up your package, simply enter the PIN code on the screen at the Grab&Go lockers and the corresponding locker will pop open with your package! As I said before, this is my go-to walmart. They are one of the better Walmarts to keep things in stock and on the shelves, even during sales. read more

This is the best Walmart I've been too. It could just be the area but I find that they always have a lot of cashiers working and managers to help out customers. I never have to wait for a cashier and I also find their cashiers are the friendliest. They never rush you when you are doing price match and always make small talk with you which is also nice. I find it to be very clean and well stocked up. The only down side is in the ethnic isle , they don't tend to carry a lot of the items I like. It would be nice if they had more Arabic items. My daughter has her dance classes out here so this is where I shop while she's there. I will choose this place over the one in Brampton anyway. People also tend to be a lot better mannered and polite in Oakville than in Brampton. read more

The worst experience for grocery pickup orders. Do not order online groceries at this location. I arrived at my exact pick up time and checked in using their mobile app then called the store to confirm I was there to pick up my order. 12 cars waiting for their pick up order. Pretty much my go-to stop on the weekend. When I first visited this Wal-Mart in Oakville, I was expecting it to be just as dingy and haphazard as the other locations in Mississauga. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how clean and organized this location was. I get the feeling that a lot of people who've criticized this location in the past haven't been back as of late. There are so many checkouts open that there's barely any lineups, and while the service is still a mixed bag, I've had very good experiences with the cashiers. The store itself is always stocked, with tons of deals, and I haven't seen any instance of rotten food (unlike a certain other location at Dixie and Dundas). I always make it a point to stop by the book section and check out their new releases, as well as try out some of the sample booths (which are becoming more and more frequent at this place). It definitely is one of the best Wal-Marts I've visited, and I recommend going at least once! The awesome stores in the plaza don't hurt either. read more

Never have basic items stocked, ie, Sriracha Sauce, Cauliflower rice, this weekend everything I went to look for were nowhere to be found and the other half... none of the floor staff knew where items were located nor cared enough to help. However I bought another Bra from Walmart Hayes Blvd Couldn't try the Bra on in store took it home and again was too small. Took it back 3 hours later and was told I couldn't return it. The 21st century never ceases to amaze me. Finally, after 6000 years on this God forsaken space rock, humanity has created a store (a SUPERstore) where I can buy everything I'd ever need! And with a 30 day return policy to boot! Just this past weekend I popped in to buy 20 kg of their DELICIOUS pork chops (I have 9 teenaged boys, who would surely devour my wife and I if we didn't satiate them with pig meat. [Emily P., you don't know what you're missing out on]). Before I could even comprehend what was happening, I had bought a 46" TV, an iPad, greeting cards for Easter, 3 packs of toothpaste, a futon (a FUTON!) and an entire stack of beer-themed muscle-shirts (the fit is remarkable, my sons love them!). I nearly forgot about the chops! But of course, I got those into the cart as well! The boys ate them so quickly, I didn't have time to check if they were cooked! Many of the negative commenters here must be from another walk of life, because I would never be so entitled. I was always raised to know that if you want fresh produce, you should move to a farm. Decay is a natural process, how can Wal-Mart be expected to stop it? I don't see it. I have never had a problem with the furniture here either. When we go on our annual shop to replace our broken chairs (the boys have developed a very dangerous mob mentality), there are always lovely plastic chairs for the dinner table, or even vinyl couches for the family room (if you're lucky). Complaints about the staff must be for another store; as far as I know Wal-Mart has no human staff whatsoever! I like the independence you have to pick out all your own things and pay for them at a terminal by yourself. My wife simply loves to scan with the gun! I can't stand this Walmart. I find it to be unorganized, they are clearly under staff. The staff has no idea of anything, There always low on cashiers no matter what day or holiday it is. Especially when you go in there early in the morning , yet none of the cashiers are ready for customers. But there all huddled for a meeting, REALLY!!!! why bother opening the store if you're not ready!!! I have go to express which is only for a few items and I have 30+ and stand there with the rest of the 90 people in the store who want to cash out , who by the way don't have a few items. U complain to the mangers about the lack of cashiers and all they do is say we're going to open another one, when you have like 17 cash registers and only two cashiers working. The place is a joke! The managers don't seem to know their own policies. Also items ring in wrong and no matter how many times the cashiers calls for help no one ever comes. They need to make a price check line!! Price matching makes the lines go so much slower and the fact that there are two humongous lines and know wants to open any other cash register even though they see that. While the manager runs around like there head is cut off, looking for there staff while half of them are break!! Doesn't matter what time day you enter that place it raises your blood pressure! I do not shop at Walmart regularly because I find the service deplorable. I needed three things today that I thought this store may be able to provide: hangers, a shoe tree and hair products. The first person I spoke to showd me exactly where the hangers were but from there the service went from 10 to zero. No one could confirm whether the store carried shoe trees so I was sent to homewares, shoes and the service desk. The staff were not only rude but did not want to help in any area. In fact the gentleman at the Aveeno counter was more helpful than the previous 5 or 6 people. It seems service is not at the top of Walmart's list and I will continue to shop elsewhere. read more

I was shopping at Walmart. Usually when I'm in the store everyone is very nice and polite and has great customer service. But today is another day I had a supervisor that supervises the front cash help me. I found him extremely rude he was rude to my children and rude to me. I guess sometimes a bad experience can discourage you from shopping at the store. But maybe I should think one bad Apple doesn't ruin the bunch does it. I'll okay maybe I'll give it one more chance. This place depresses me. People are rude ! they ram you down with their carts and don't apologize, they let their children run wild and they price match making the lines go so much slower. Wal-Mart is not for extensive customer service or has the "Friendly commission paid staff" of other stores, but if you know what you want or need and have compared prices of other stores you can without a doubt save a lot of money at this store. The thing here is compare prices. I have found some trinkets cheaper and by the same manufacture at Dollarama, but why wasted the gas and time going to two or more stores. As for big ticket items they do gladly match any advertised price you bring in and show them. The word here is gladly. I have also found that they are quite willing to lower prices on "end of season" items. Don't be afraid to ask. Canadians seem to be reluctant on asking for discounts but this WalMart does respond to these discount requests when you ask showing respect and thankfulness for the consideration of your offer. Just don't be "jerk" about it. Have consideration for those who do ask for respectable discounts. read more
