Hot girl tip, no one can tell if you bought your lei from Walmart for $10-13 or from another place... for much more Another hot girl tip the boogie boards here are a good buy and when you're done you can gift to another family at the beach if you don't plan on keeping your board or flying home with it. (Same with sand toys) See you at the beach babes!

The Kona WalMart & their famous wall of SPAM .. see photo !! Since World War ll, spam has remained an island staple. It's available everywhere. Even the McDonald's inside this Walmart, SPAM & rice is a featured meal. On the brighter side, the WalMart's in Hawaii have a huge assortment of quality Hula material for those talented enough to sew & craft. They also carry an entire department of Hawaiian based tourist items at prices far below the gift-shops. The 4 star rating is due to WalMart discontinuing their complimentary shuttle bus from the cruise ship dock to the store. This is a serious setback for crew members who need to stock up on personal items & can't afford taxi cab service. This store sits high in the hills above town & has the best unobstructed view of the Kona Coast & Pacific Ocean in all of this beautiful area's landscape.

Huge store, prices were higher then expected. Didn't have any fresh meat. Purchased pool noodles which were under 3$ Got a cool Ozzy Diary of a Madman Funko Pop complete with fake blood for 19.99$ It had rang up for 24.99$ even though there was a tag with the exact description on it for 19.99$ After a brief discussion, we managed to get the 2 of them we had brought up for that price. The register also didn't show any prices, so my 70$+ total went down to under 50$ when I questioned it and items were rung up again ?? This store also sells some souvenir items behind where the McDonalds is located. I found some really nice Hawaii mugs, however the chocolate & nuts were over priced. They also don't accept Apple Pay which would of been convenient.

Walmarts in other states are always so much cooler. This store is massive and was massively busy. We needed to stock up for our stay. The home we were staying at didn't even have a coffee machine. I cant commence a vacation with out coffee. But we also needed snacks and bubbly water and Coke Zero. Some of my favorites I found were as follows: Jars of really delicious Kim-Chi. I even bought some to put in my suit case to take home. Bags and bags of Chicharrons that I've never seen at my Walmart. Salt and vinegar was my favorite flavor. Plain was also great. Great clothes. If you forgot your swim suit come to Walmart. You'll be set. We stocked up on regular breakfast items and other regular snacks like avocados and salami. They had everything we needed. It was so busy here though. So beware of lines and just crowds of people meandering around.

Spacious, well-stocked, organized and clean, this Walmart is practically a Target! And Rudolpho at the front registers is a pleasure to interact with! I never thought I'd say this about a Walmart, but....five stars!

I tried to pick it up at the store. I live an hour and 10 minutes away. Order cancelled because, although the website said it was there, it wasn't, so the system cancels but did not notify anyone at Donor's Choose or me. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES, FOUR DRIVES TO KONA AT $40 A POP. I spoke with two floor and one customer service manager and those ding dongs absolutely would not hold the PAID FOR TV until I came to get it because I had already spent $160 of my money, not my school's to pick it up. They just could not figure it out, It took me over an hour to get a store manager to agree to keep his eye out and then put it in his office so it wouldn't get sold. That never happened. It was in the back with all of the other stuff in the back. Luckily, I came back the next day, so $200 in gas. Such a ghetto organization. Shameful how poor the customer service is. It is so embarrasing because people from other places that understand how customer service works come to Kona and get to experience how stupid people are..... And another thing- I never buy food at Target because it is always expired. I happened to pick up a bag of popcorn on sale because I was hungry- Expired again and I didn't notice until half the bag was gone. Target, you should replace your managers and service people. They have failed miserably. No one should have to endure such stupidity. I already cancelled my card and I am boycotting due to your cancellation of Diversity and Equality, but people still gotta know that you are feeding them old, expired food.

What a refreshing place, very light and airy interior with wide aisles people walking around in a friendly manner (I have not witnessed anyone in a hurry, angry, nor have I witnessed or experienced road rage on this island). Great atmosphere. I went to ask about the poke bowls and was told what was out was it as they'd already gone through all the fresh fish for the day. Man in a way that was great ... I knew then it was all fresh, what was there was going to be awesome tasting and run with it. Probably not the most filling thing to order, but then it wouldn't sit (grumble) on my stomach for the long flight back. Wide selection of everything you're probably used to getting (staples) on the mainland, it just all probably costs (it does) a bit more on the island due to shipping, etc. Cheaper than a restaurant and FRESH though. Clean parking lot (I am one of those people that bring buggies from the parking lot to use while shopping), friendly place, easy location. Shopped on: 12/11/2024 at 76-971 Henry Street.

KTA Express, you're a lifesaver!…read more I came to the KTA Express store twice in recent weeks, and this store/supermarket totally saved me from having to drive back in town (Kailua-Kona) to buy something I sorely needed. I was working at a local bank next door doing some lock work when I realized I needed a few 9-volt batteries to fix something. Being that I was traveling, and did not have access to all my normal gear, I asked the bank people where was the nearest store? Originally I was worried that I might have to drive all the way back to Kailua-Kona to get what I needed, but luckily KTA had a store in Kealakekua. Walked over to the KTA store, as it was just a hop, skip, & jump away from the local bank (where I was working). Got what I needed, and time & resources were saved that day! Last week Thursday I found myself back in Kealakekua working at a credit union this time. No, I didn't need anything in particular for the credit union this time, but after finishing the job at the credit union, the KTA store was very convenient for me to get some drinks & some grub. Apparently the KTA Express has a vendor - L&L Drive-In that does pre-made - ready to eat bentos. Some of the items looked pretty good, so I decided to give it a shot & picked up a mini BBQ Chicken & Noodle Bento. The mini bento was pretty tasty, and best part of it all is that I didn't have to go far to get my lunch grub. KTA Express in Kealakekua, you're a lifesaver! Lol!
