The chicken pieces have gotten bigger, with lotsa krunchy skin, all soaked in their really yummy korean sauce. Grab a small container, get a piece of chicken or two, scoop a bit of their sauce and put it over the rice ... and yum! Two thumbs up! I just have to say that my review may be heavily influenced from the fact that I was DYING to find some place that had Spam Musubi. I don't have any actual objective evidence of this, but from my previous experience of going from the different Hawaiian islands, the Big Island just feels a lot more scarce in food options. So basically I've been wanting some quick spam musubi at the start of my trip here, but every grocery market or convenience store we went to for the entire week either 1) ran out of stock or 2) stop selling them all together. I really thought it was an easy food item that would readily be available anywhere, but somehow it became this mission of ours to at least find one place that had it before we left. It wasn't until the last day of my trip that in a last ditch effort right before going to the airport we would stop by Queen K to fill up gas, but to my surprise, there was the highly elusive food item sitting right there inside the gas food mart. You can either get them in the full length or half sized, and as a bonus, they even had a little dole whip machine in the back! My prayers had been answered and it was the most glorious last lunch before heading home. I even bought a couple extra (a lot extra) to monch on during the plane ride. On my trip to Hawaii last year, this place has been a staple for my family when we are riding around exploring Hawaii. We would go here to grab a bunch of food and drinks for long car rides or deep sea fishing. Every time we came here, we were grabbing different things to try out everything that they had. Every time I went, personally I would always get their Spicy Spam Musubi, Spam Musubi, and Chicken Thigh Rice Plates! Those were must-haves for me and always kept my family and me happy. There were some items that were "eh" to us, but you can usually tell just from looking at them. They also offered a salad bar, the options were endless. Queen K 76 was a great convenient location for us when we were exploring Kona. We stopped by multiple times during the trip for gas, food, and drinks. It wasn't too much of a shock for someone that lives in Southern California as it was only marginally higher. Best gas station good in Kailua Kona Hands down. Whether I'm walking in at 6am before work, or walking in at 11pm after an overtime shift, I will always find food to eat on my way home. From chicken thighs, fried chicken, fresh rice, musubis, to cold sandwiches. This isn't the fault of the store or it's employees, but it's only missing out on a 5 star rating cause there are always some sketchy looking people in the parking lot at night. But as far as service and food, best on the go gas station food on the west side, I think only Bayside Chevron in Hilo keeps up with it as far as food, but Queen K 76 wins out cause it's 24/7! read more

Car wash is expensive and takes a long time (its the kind where you drive in and park, rather than leaving your car in neutral as youre pulled forward). Cheapest car wash is $12, most stations I've seen have $6-$8 options. They do have free vacuums but the pressure is awful and they don't have heads. Skip this Queen "K" Highway 76 Gas Station the Pros it's open 24 hours, seven days a week! That's great! Nothing much else for any Pro's. So head down to the Pines to a BETTER gas station to get the Aloha Spirit & save some $$ instead of this overpriced 76 gas station. The Cons: No Aloha Spirit in this 76 Gas Station with poor Customer Service by Beth I noticed on the weekends only when the Manager isn't there. Beth doesn't greet a customer saying hi just tried to charge me for a plastic spoon, fork & four small bag of croutons when in fact the Salad Bar is CLOSED due to CoViD. Never said thank you thought I did and taped it to prove how lousy the cashier was that argued with me over and over again. I didn't start taping until she kept arguing as time is wasting so I wanted to leave the store just pay for my items. Then she said CALM DOWN then I can't because you are overcharging me! So I bought two tiny cups of Cran dressing for almost $3.00 along with one avocado at $3.57 just over $9.00 so Beth the cashier was very RUDE, didn't speak good English, as I politely explained to her that I wasn't buying the napkins nor the croutons or the spoon & fork. She said she's been there for six years as I said I've been a loyal customer of 10 years. She claims the plastic fork and spoon has always been charged with croutons so I told her I never got charged before as I explained not with the other cashiers only you! Both my parents were foreigners from Central America so I'm not a racist so they spoke English with Spanish as their second language so I tried my best being patient in trying to explain "No Meat Please" in the salad. On that visit the foreign employee gave me a dirty look then walked away. I went out to my car to give her some time hoping she understood me? She came back without any avocado 20 minutes later with only the purple cabbage in the salad so I asked her if I could have avocado please since she forgot. She then pointed to my green avocado I bought as I tried patiently to politely explain it's not ripe. I wanted the cashier herself to explain but unfortunately she asked me to so T then I did I then again asking for avocado not needing all of the salad to be only the purple cabbage. The cashier told to stand outside of the small kitchen area so I did but went back outside to my car still waiting......... wanting to cancel the transaction, Then this employee found a rotten avocado then took some part of the it that wasn't rotten then gave me a dirty look then threw the rotten avocado in my direction missed the trash can which it ended up near me splattering my leggings! I looked down to see green splatter on my leggings then didn't she didn't even apologize caught on the video tape. The Manager after I have been a loyal customer of ten years did try to make it up to me but on weekends she's not there! I don't appreciate George first saying that he saw the video tape that it didn't happen? George is not professional to have brought this incident up after being a loyal customer for the past decade. The cashier Beth never said thanks! I did thank her though even though she made the transaction so difficult. Having George and Beth gang up on me shows no Aloha Spirit on weekends there when the nice Manager isn't there. Then talking smack 'bout me whispering to Beth in a low tone behind my back as he took the cashier Beth 'round the side who then said in a LOUD looking in my direction as I was leaving, "She's CRAZY!!" then I said you made me CRAZY!! I was greeted with sassiness, rude eye rolling dismissive attitude and an overall unpleasant experience. I was made to feel like the BAD guy. Should give you an idea what they are charging at this place. Other than their heat lamp buffet, really nothing to choose from except chips. I went with that and some microwaveable ramen (better check the expiration dates of their items, I'm glad I did as the first microwaveable ramen I picked up was expired).
