I normally don't like to leave bad reviews, but I was really frustrated during my visit to Walmart today. I stopped in for a quick purchase--just a simple pack of pens--only to find they are now locked up. When I asked for help, one employee rudly directed me to the photo department, where I was then told by another employee that it wasn't her responsibility. Both employees were very rude and made it seem like helping me was an inconvenience. After the employee finally handed me the pack of pens, I couldn't help but think about how ineffective the whole system felt. If the purpose of locking them up is to prevent theft, what's stopping someone from just walking off with the item once it's been handed to them? It doesn't really make sense to me and just creates unnecessary frustration for paying customers. This experience was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. Beware of extremely unprofessional and misleading prices. Don't expect to get what you see on the website with limitations beyond a consumers understanding.. depending on how the item is listed, depends if they will give you the price or not something a consumer would never know unless they work for Walmart. Pretty consistent with other locations, this spot had what we needed for some school supply needs. Self check-out was not staffed enough to fix stuck terminals, so that might be improved. I'm in the 5 star hotel across the street. It's 1am in the morning and this Walmart is blasting their microphone. It's been waking me up all night every 15 then 5 minutes....till 3am and started up again at 5am. Why is it blasting at closed hours? It's like a football station!!! Unbelievable! I tried to call but no answer. I also called the police. It was terrible since I had surgery and was at the hotel for rest. I had to leave the lovely hotel a 2 star even though it should have gotten a 5 star. I've attached a copy of the review. i bought 2 cameras from this store and brought them here to develop as well, that was in March, I called every week or so to check and was told multiple times that my order was just taking longer than normal and to call back in 2 weeks. I called today and finally spoke with a woman who took a further step (literally give her a bonus for that) and found out that my photos were thrown away. So thank you walmart for losing some of the last photos of me with family members, vacation photos that were all taken on that camera, and so many other memories that I will never get back (and money). Things got bad in this store after the Camp Fire. It's gotten progressively worse during the last few years, with more and more products being put behind giant locked plexiglass cases (apparently to combat increased crime?). Now they have ENTIRE DEPARTMENTS behind glass. Almost the entire store. Barely anyone on the sales floor to unlock cases for the crowds of people waiting to retrieve toothpaste or some damn soap. I can't express enough how great this experience was for it being my first time bringing my car into a mechanic. I brought my car in today to the Auto Care Center because of low tire pressure, and the employees--Jericho and Kevin/Mav--agreed to looked at it, despite it being past 6:00pm. They treated me with respect and explained the whole process to me as they evaluated my car. Jericho found that the issue was a cracked valve stem, which only cost $3 to replace. He replaced it for me right then and there, and I was able to go home an hour later with my car taken care of. Thank you to the Auto Care Center, specifically Jericho and Kevin/Mav, for fixing my car and being so gracious with their time. read more

So today I come into Walmart and there are two guests standing in line with no masks and no one enforces that, they basically tell the employee they can't wear one and basically it's too bad. The employee doesn't make them step outside to get a mask doesn't offer them a mask, normally people wouldn't even be allowed in the store without them enforcing it, I find it completely unacceptable especially with covid going on , small children are even in the store wearing mask. At least 20 employees passed me during that time, none of which could help me. How about empowering employees? "That area doesn't open until 7 AM!" one slow-moving employee said to me with a sneer and then walked away... at 7:10am! No matter when I go to this Walmart, the plants are barely alive. Indoor plants are often outside in the direct sun, and all the plants are always dry. I'll come work the garden center an hour a day and will keep plants alive better than employees assigned to this area. Absolutely shameful how bad they care for their plants here. As soon as I got into the store, I could see this huge unruly line of many shopping carts in line for the Self Checkout. There seemed to be only one regular register open. There was no distancing what so ever. There was no way I was going to pick up about 5 items and wait that long, that close for any reason.... I walked the store looking for the restrooms in front as well as in back and never found them. Decided I would drive the 30 mins down the highway to Walmart in Oroville. No issues at that Walmart. With a line like that at self check out and only one register open at about the 12:45pm timeframe, Come On Chico Walmart, open up more registers and don't allow YOUR customers to be frustrated, have anxiety and get out of there in a decent timeframe so they haven't wasted their day to pay for goods in your store.... read more

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm in Chico getting my child settled in for college. Came to Walmart for a futon & card table set (for dining room table). All I asked for was a cart so I could load the stuff on cart & get out of there. I ask the door greeter (Jesse) where I can get a cart. He walks over, picks up the phone, and calls for a person with an "L Cart". To meet a customer in furniture. A few minutes later (to my surprise). Adam shows up to help me out. Ryan is on the register making the sale. Then Adam helps me load. These three guys, and actually the others who helped me during me three trips on March 10th were great. I ordered some running shoes from Walmart Online. Instead of receiving the running shoes I received rubber rings????? Not what I ordered or paid for (see pics). I was completely confused about the rubber rings until I noticed that the tracking number was the same for the shoes. This can't be right, as the package was so small that it was obvious it wasn't shoes. Went to my local Walmart to return them like any other store allows for online purchase, but was told to call a number because they don't do that. WHAT? So now I'm on hold with a TWO HOUR wait time to do something that they could have done at the store but won't. Wont be shopping at Walmart store or online anymore. Tonight I went to Walmart against my gut feeling it was a horrible idea but I just needed something fast so figured I'd run by and snag it. I can't remember the last time Walmart wasn't a bad idea. I much prefer Target as the staff far surpasses Walmart's (Target seems to hire those that care about their job) and overall the quality is better of products. I went in a few minutes before closing to grab 1 item. I was told at the door I only had a few minutes. That worked since my husband and I each only needed 1 item! I walked straight back to the item I needed and on the way was asked 4 times by different associates what I needed to find. I let them know I already knew where to find it and proceeded on. My husband and I split off so he could find his item. He was looking for something in auto and myself in garden. I went back to garden where I was asked for the 5th time what I needed by a guy. (to be very clear, all the times I was asked were extremely rude like I was needing to be turned around and get out) The man would not allow me to grab the item on my own and followed within 2 feet behind me asking 3 times what I was getting. After I checked the shelves (here's the kicker) to see they were out of stock on the whole shelf of items - I walked out of garden and turned to walk in my husbands direction. At which point a VERY RUDE female associate screamed at me "you're going the wrong way" - I kept walking and said "I'm not going the wrong way I'm meeting up with my husband" during this time the man has been walking a few feet behind me the whole time. It was creepy!!! All because they were closing in a few minutes. Then my husband and I were yelled at and told we need to go up front now. It was in a nutshell being yelled at and followed for 5 solid minutes! Only to go to the front and have to wait in line to checkout which took 10 minutes. MY ADVICE for this stores manager would be to rethink how you close up. The way we were treated was unimaginable from a business that we were spending money at. Needless to say I'll be completely swapping to Target even in these one off instances. read more

Whether she was joking or not it was very offensive to my friend and I because we are African-American girls. I went to this Wal-Mart's tire and lube center for an oil change. I don't know why they advertise the price as $44+ change because they ended up charging me for an oil filter, apparently not included in the price, and it actually cost me $62+ change. The worst part is how they left my car. I have a plastic piece underneath my car to keep out dust and debris, they just left it hanging down!! AND they didn't bother to tell me!! I drove off and heard this horrendous noise as soon as I left the parking lot. I didn't know what it was at first, by the time I realized it was my car making the sound I pulled into a gas station and found the problem. I'm still so pissed. I haven't used it recently for anything else. 2 weeks later I get a notice from AMEX that my card number has been attempted for a purchase at a gas station in CA, fortunately denied. Fraud attempt.
