I came in because my front driver tire pressure sensor went off twice in one day so I took it into this Discount Tire. Sure enough, they found that my wheel had a crack which was causing the tire to lose pressure quickly. Howard pointed out to me that it was about time for a new set of 4 tires anyways since the tread was low. Since my vehicle's stock wheel needed some calls around other sources to find, he did his due diligence in trying to find the exact model. Unfortunately there weren't any available, so he gave me some options and in the end I decided to replace the rims so that they would all match. He told me the set of 4 tires would be there in 3 days (it was Tuesday so it would be there by Friday), but I wanted to wait on the wheels to deliver which were expected the following Wednesday. Howard called me today (Monday) and let me know the wheels came in early, so I went in after work to have them installed. Total time was about 30 minutes to install. I appreciate Howard and his team's genuine care for customers and providing reliable service when in a bind. I'm very satisfied with how everything went and will be back if/when I have tire or wheel issues.

I called about 5 hours later to check the status and was told oil change had been completed and waiting to check brakes. A few minutes later I was contacted that my car was ready with no problems found. He explained that there was over 60% of the pads left in the front and 80% on the rear. That would be fantastic news if the brakes didn't grind! They test drove and couldn't duplicate the problem. The problem did continue for me driving home. I appreciate they didn't want to do work that wasn't necessary, but service advisor did not care to listen to what I thought might possibly cause the noise. I explained my car had previously been in an accident and had front suspension parts replaced. I suggested it might possibly be a loose pad or calipers loose or hanging up but he blew it off as a sensor. I didn't get the feeling that my problem was worth looking at beyond checking the pads for thickness and diagnosis fee. I basically was charged 204.00 for an oil change including their 3.5% credit card use included. After using my debit card I noticed the fee so changed and wrote a check for 197.00. Maybe it's me, a little confusing thinking debit card is the same as cash (most places). They did however only refund 197.00 of the 204.00 charged. So we are back to 204.00 for an oil change (to be fair, I got my preferred oil) and to be told my brakes are great. I have had people recommend your shop to me in the past and decided to give your shop a try with my brakes issue, but will never recommend or be back. Enjoy your 7 bucks credit card fee you kept, it will give me enjoyment in telling everyone I can of my experience and waste of time and money using your business. Would have been shorter had I not requested a tire rotation. They informed me I would likely need to replace my front brakes at my next oil change which I was already anticipating. They also checked all my lights to make sure they were working properly. I didn't even have to leave my car for the light inspection and oil change. They do other services, too, but I did not use them during this visit. I will definitely return. I think this is a great shop for women to have their vehicles serviced. After multiple expensive repairs, questionable inspections, and an alarming diagnosis, I have…read morecompletely lost trust in this Meineke location. I was a repeat customer who trusted this shop to maintain my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now I question whether the inspections/work I paid for were even performed. In August, I had my AC condenser replaced. Despite regular servicing and inspection reports indicating fluid levels had been checked, I later discovered my power steering reservoir was completely empty. When I questioned the reports, the service manager acknowledged his frustration and said he'd been "on" his technicians because they had been marking items inspected without actually checking them. He said my August inspection report was not a reliable reference. Hearing that from the manager himself was deeply concerning. In October, I returned for a coolant leak and paid for a radiator replacement and cooling-system flush. A noticeable rushing/sloshing sound could be heard behind the driver's side dash during acceleration--a sound I'd never heard before. I also discovered several clips and fasteners hadn't been reinstalled, requiring another trip to the shop. When I mentioned the sound, I was told it was normal coolant circulation. I explained that I'd owned the Jeep for years and had never heard it. Three days later, with the sound continuing, I returned and asked whether trapped air from the radiator replacement might need to be bled. Instead of a clear explanation, I was accused of having someone else work on the Jeep and of driving it while overheating. Neither was true. Meineke was the only shop I'd been using, and I had neither the time nor the money to arrange other repairs between those visits. I was returning because the sound following THEIR work. I was even told they didn't believe me when I said no one else had worked under the hood. Then I was told my Jeep had a blown head gasket. This is a serious, potentially expensive diagnosis. Yet the Jeep hadn't overheated, wasn't producing white exhaust smoke, had no apparent oil contamination, and wasn't misfiring or showing other obvious performance issues. I wasn't given clear documentation establishing how this diagnosis had been confirmed. Rather than authorize more work, I took it to a Jeep dealership for an independent inspection. They said the vehicle looked great and found no apparent leaks or immediate concerns. Even after I explained Meineke's diagnosis and the entire history, the service advisor didn't recommend more extensive head-gasket testing based on their findings and the absence of symptoms. They charged me nothing. The sloshing had also disappeared after Friday's Meineke visit, my coolant level has remained stable, and the Jeep continues to operate normally. I understand that the dealership's inspection cannot definitively rule out every internal engine problem, but the contrast between these experiences was striking. My concern isn't just a potentially incorrect diagnosis. It's the missing fasteners, the empty reservoir I caught myself, the manager's admission about unreliable inspections, the dismissive response to a new sound, and the accusations that I caused the problem or went elsewhere. After spending substantial money here, I should not have had to repeatedly return, question whether basic checks were performed, or seek a second opinion to feel confident about a major diagnosis. I cannot know why Meineke reached its conclusion...the service manager literally said they "attached a doohickey, pressurized it, and the head gasket failed." I do know that this experience destroyed my confidence in the shop. I will not return, and I strongly recommend getting an independent second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs here.
