Also the whipped cream was sparsely laid out. I could go to any supermarket and get one and the banana slices are thick and plentiful and whipped cream is 3 times what was on Manns Pie. Complete waste of money and I'll stick to only getting an Apple pie however I'm better off getting Apple pies from Costco since they are twice the size and much less expensive. Not impressed Manns- get with the program!

Awesome! Picked up half a dozen different meat pies, bangers, steak tips and some grocery items I can't find anywhere else and headed home to enjoy. I couldn't wait once I smelled those pies, I had to have one! So delicious! Bangers & steak tips were awesome too. I'll definitely be back for more of everything and I'll probably try other butcher cuts too!

I think arriving around 10am allows you to nab a good spot close to the farm itself. There was already lots of folks around by 10am on Saturday. The main farm area has food options, including hot cider and apple cider donuts. The donuts are so good in the morning, I think they are super fresh and warm but get a little less fresh by the afternoon. There is also corn on the cob and hamburgers, etc. Later in the afternoon, this area also had some great live music, and a petting zoo area with cute goats. We were eager to get to apple picking. You can buy a bag for holding the fruits of your harvest; the options are half bushel and peck. We went with a half bushel, which ended up being great for three people. We then rode the hayride to the orchards, which was a very quick ride. They have tons of different varieties at the orchards, including Cortlands, McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Cosmic crisp, Shizuka, Empires, and Granny Smiths. My friend was especially excited by the Jonagolds. The hayride also takes you back to the main farm area, where there are lots of options for activities to enjoy. We could take pics in the pumpkin patch or go pick flowers. The flower patch had zinnias, gorgeous dahlias, gladiolus, and Irises that haven't bloomed yet. It was super gorgeous. You can purchase flowers by the pound or by the bouquet; pound is the cheaper option for sure, so I do recommend doing this. The line for checkout got really long by the afternoon and then we had to line up again with our bucket of flowers to get them wrapped in butcher paper.

Their barn items are insanely cheap for fresh bakery goods in this economy, and their fruit picking prices are fair. I haven't ever had a bad experience with service, and the ambiance is all wooden, cool, and overall just a great experience. It's literally THE place to go for a family trip or something fun to do.

Produce are fresh and there are many varieties of plants (hanging plants, herbs, etc). Make sure to grab your plants first before entering the store as the registers are inside. Growing up, this farm was steps from my backyard and I would always walk over with the neighborhood hooligans to poke the animals and inhale some tasty fudge (fat kid). Barker's is one of, if not the oldest farm in town, dating back to 1642 (NA was established in 1646) and has been run by 10 generations of the Barker family. There's a cute little farmstand with fresh vegetables (corn!), baked goods (fudge!), fruit (apples!), flowers, plants, and whatever else. There is also an area around the back of the barn where you can go look at the variety of animals they have and take in a deep breath of fresh animal stench. Barker's also offers your seasonal needs such as pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc. In comparison, Smolak Farm in North Andover is your 5-star place to go, but Barker's will always have that special place in my heart and that's why I love it.

This was my only time to get to the store and they couldn't just honor the exchange. Things get really muddy with the whole Amazon of it all. I've gotten to the point that I've been writing companies as well when I've seen their molded produce, because it's actually just ridiculous at this point. My mom visits from out of town and independently offered up the same observation about this whole foods without prompting, as have a number of friends in the area. I also find that their selection generally is pretty lacking for anything beyond some basics. Maybe that's just a reflection of the size store or location?

Either way how can they put chicken salad expiration date if 2 wks. From now.....GROSS! Every time I give it another shot I'm disgusted. I've bought a pack of expensive chicken from them and it was overpriced, slimy and smelly!! Flat bread had mold and their meats are guaranteed old! Sometimes they don't even hide it, you can clearly see steaks are turning brown!!
