To me, a good mechanic ranks up with the other "must-haves" in your life: a knowledgeable family doctor, a skilled dentist, a reliable contractor and an honest lawyer. I have none of these people, except the mechanic, who is pretty good. From the road, this place does not look like much, but if you've read any of my others reviews this is never a deciding factor for me. Todd Wallace, the owner, is an honest, reliable, and reasonable mechanic: - He never tried to charge me for anything that didn't need to be done. - He compared prices on parts to get me what I need, as inexpensively as possible. - He referred me to other great, honest businesses, like B&N Transmission, when I needed specialized work. - Twice he returned my vehicle repaired at no charge because they were able to recognize a simple fix and address it with quick labour or a cheap part. Unfortunately, these days he's mostly retired and seems to be on the golf course more often that he's in the shop, or I'd still give it 5 stars (I used to). The place is still a fine shop. It's just not quite the same place it was. YMMV. read more

Emergency flat tire... My first! Long story involves dog walking poodles and getting lost! All good now as poodle owner recommended Walkace Garage and even called ahead for me! Wallace's was first recommended to me by a neighbour who sent his fleet of trucks to Wallace's. That was 16 years ago and these are still my absolute first choice of mechanic bar none. They are honest, will source out the right parts and have the best prices. They will repair if a replacement isn't necessary. You can trust their advice and skills. The staff that work there have been there for years and I think loyalty speaks volumes for the high quality of this business.
