Autotec is a no-frills old-school repair shop, owned by the mechanic who does the work. You're not going to get a fancy loaner, free buffet breakfast, air freshener, or anything else as an incentive to be a customer. What you will get is honest and reliable service; quality work. I have taken every car I have owned to Autotec, since my first beater in 1997(at first having had 1 or 2 other estimates done beforehand). I really can't say enough good things about this shop. It's one of those rare places where you can just drop your car off and completely trust the advice you're given and the quality of the work. Larry, the owner, always gives me an honest assessment of works that's a good idea and also the work that he feels may not be necessary. I never feel pushed into preventative work that may not be worth while. As an example, I brought my car in and asked to have some preventative maintenance work done and the tires changed. I ended up not going ahead with the maintenance work as he suggested it wouldn't be necessary right now. He lost two hours of labour costs but continues to build trust and respect with great service and honest advice. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, it's a no frills operation but luckily I don't look to my mechanic for good coffee and a place to watch TV. read more

I've been happy bringing my cars to Autotec for the past year or two, after trying many other shops. Larry has fixed some problems that I was worried about not being able to fix at all, and when we replaced both cars earlier this year, he helped me with very thorough pre-purchase inspections.
