Deadly menswear. Hoka One, higher end streetwear type stuff. A bunch of Solovair and really dope emerging brands.

One of my favourite clothing stores in Vancouver. Great for work-appropriate clothes or else plain…read moreand slim-fitting everyday clothes. I've been buying stuff here for a few years now, and some last better than others-- I wouldn't say you can get more than a few years out of most of their items, unless you rarely wear them. I'd say the styles are relatively fresh and sort of aimed at the hipster/metrosexual demographics. Many of their clothes are designed with relatively slim guys in mind, especially the dress shirts that are taken in at the sides. Well, I can't fit in them as a 200lb guy, but I guess they are nice for guys who can. If you find their prices expensive, I recommend waiting around for their periodic sales, if not at this location then at the one in Gastown. Also, their clothes are designed in Vancouver, although not made here AFAIK. So, it's something you probably wouldn't be able to find anywhere else.

Beware Fake Sale Practices! I have been going to this store…read moresince it opened years ago and have been very happy with my purchases, and their sales have always been great too! However the last couple of times I have been in I have noticed something odd with my bill. First I was told there was 50% off when I was looking, then I was told it was 30% when I came to pay and then I was told that the ticket price was actually the sale price. On my receipt it listed the ticket price and a sub-total was a price $100 more than the the combined ticket price. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. I just want to warn everyone that they are using and age-old fake sale strategy to sell their products, so beware! Shame I loved this store, I will be looking for an honest retailer for my custom from now on.

I just love this store!…read more Many of the artisan or unique household accessories I've personally looked up online in the past few months were actually here on display, available for purchase! The types of items stocked here are totally down my alley, so I admit, I am biased. I love modern, clever, functional, non-fussy things, items with clean lines, nothing superfluous (I hate clutter. So things have to be practical!), smart and contemporary. It's like the buyer at this shop totally read my mind. I loved practically everything here. They have the coolest binoculars, lightweight puff blankets in a bag (light as a feather. Really!), candles, decanters, baskets, placemats and trivets and coasters, reflective tags and pins, cards, stunning jewelry, thick "butcher" aprons with the coolest hardware clips, organic baby linen bundles and gifts, contemporary tea infusers, glassware, adult card games and notebooks.... I could go on and on. Everything is cool here and beautiful to look at. The ladies who work here were all super nice and totally let us browse at our leisure. They were also very knowledgeable about all the merchandise. I've seen some of these items at local craft fairs, so I know they are locally made, by local artisans. There's a small section by the rear counter with sale items. Nice! This is an amazing shop, and the perfect place to get a hostess gift - or something for yourself!

So if you're looking for a unique gift and still be within budget, visit Walrus on Cambie. You won't be disappointed.
