My personal and professional life have led me from Kansas City to Northern California to Scottsdale, Arizona to Northern Virginia/D.C. and now to Sanibel Island, Florida, so I've seen my share of doctors in that time. Due to a cancer history, I've been treated at Stanford and Mayo...and I can say without reservation that I've been treated by some incredible doctors, but I've never had another doctor who made me feel more heard and understood. My medical history is complex and Dr. Balda respects my personal experience and understanding of what's happening in my body. She listens to her patients and doesn't talk at them like so many doctors are prone to do. I have the utmost respect for her as a doctor and as a person. And, the entire team at Balda Health is awesome, too! Who knew you could enjoy calls from your doctor's office?! It's a 6 hour round trip drive for me to get to her office and I consider that a small price to pay for the best!

I just needed a referral from her, to get treatment through a special Program for veterans. In the end I got nothing but shop talk and a story about her family being in the military as well and a fat bill for a appointment that she didn't hold on time. And to top things off she tried selling me on services I absolutely didn't need. This physician is a snake oil sales woman. She has no respect for peoples time or medical needs. Just what she can bill u for . My advice, stay away

I scheduled an appointment with this primary care physician over 60 days ago because I wanted to…read moreestablish care with a new PCP. Before my appointment, I completed all of the required forms through the patient portal. At no point did anyone from the office contact me to explain what I needed to bring or verify that everything was in order. Since most insurance companies no longer issue physical insurance cards, I had already uploaded my insurance information and ID through the portal. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told there was an issue with my insurance and that I couldn't be seen. The staff was not helpful in explaining the problem or offering a solution. I called my insurance company while I was in the office, and they confirmed that, based on my plan, I should have been able to see any provider. Instead of helping resolve the issue, the office created unnecessary obstacles that ultimately prevented me from being seen. I wasted 30 minutes of my day and left without receiving any care. My experience with the front office and customer service was extremely disappointing. Before scheduling an appointment here, I would recommend making sure every insurance detail has been verified in advance, because the office does not appear to do this proactively. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

My son filled out all forms online prior to showing up to the office. He paid for his co-pay prior to his appointment as well. WE SAT AND WAITED AND WAITED, while someone else that showed up 20 after us was brought back immediately. Please, we have PPO insurance.. We can certainly find someone else that actually honors their patients time!
