Eventually my refills were gone and it was time to bite the bullet. A friend recommended Dr. Lipperd, so I called to make an initial appointment. First, I was really happy that this is basically a stand alone location with a private lot. No parking decks, elevators, or long hallways to deal with. The waiting room was pretty crowded, but everyone seemed to be called in a timely manner. I met with a nurse, a nurse practitioner, and then Dr. Lipperd. All three were friendly and seemed to actually care. After discussing my medical history and current and past medications, I felt VERY comfortable with the entire group. When the resident tried to update her in the hall, she was loudly complaining about me and didn't even let the resident get through with all of my updates and issues. She came in and was nice but abrasive then went back in the hall and complained about me some more really loudly. I feel like HIPAA was breached, and I felt mortified because I know I wasn't the only patient who could hear her. I wanted to leave right then, and I did apologize to her if I did something wrong, but she still complained about me. I felt totally disrespected and discouraged in updating my primary care doctor with my health concerns (isn't that their job???). People need to be aware of the degradation and violation of privacy I felt in that visit. I don't want anyone to feel the same way I did. I'm a strong person, and this really, really upset me. Also, because she didn't listen to the resident or me, she told me my back pain was a "new" issue (I've had back issues for 20 years but it's been exacerbated because I moved) and didn't need a specialist. She was accusing me of "dog paddling" multiple times when I was just updating them on what was and wasn't helping and updating my primary care on my health. I didn't notify them beforehand because the exacerbation occurred a couple of weeks before, and I figured I would tell them at my appointment and try to treat it to get it healed with resting it and taking ibuprofen. I'm not looking for medicine. I just want to know what's wrong with it. I also started feeling sick this weekend as well and was just letting them know because their questionnaire asks about recent symptoms. It's making me cry just typing this and reliving it. She was also telling the resident to not listen to "dog paddling", and it's really discouraging to hear someone training the next generation of doctors to be anything like her because I really appreciated him. Such a shame.

An X-ray request that was needed has been pending since two visits ago. Despite mentioning it during both visits to the primary physician, there has been no follow-up or response for over two months. The X-ray is necessary for the next appointment to proceed with a diagnosis, but the previous visits were essentially unproductive due to the delay. We were referred to a facility that turned out not to be covered by our insurance. Phone calls are not answered directly. The clinic only accepts voicemail, and despite leaving two messages regarding the X-ray, no one has followed up.

All my information was on her computer so she could look back easily at my past test results. They have a lab on site so my blood was taken immediately. Checkout was quick and easy. Last time my doctor sent a letter explaining all my test results with the lab results attached. The whole experience was quick, easy. There is limited parking, but I have always been able to find a place without waiting.
