I honestly do not know where to begin in sharing my life-coaching experience with Carla - it has…read morebeen equal parts inspirational, transformative, empowering, and as time goes by and I continue to grow, learn and evolve, I find new ways that our time together has impacted me. Our program / contract was three months but almost daily since then I see ways that Carla's teaching along with her patience and her genuine love for a sister grappling with seachanges (me) has shifted my perceptions of myself and how I relate with others in such a life affirming way. More specifically, my needs were guidance and support as I entered a season of major life changes. Carla provided this in a way that warmed my teacher's heart - in weekly sessions we identified goals, struggles, behaviors and choices that do not serve me. Carla shared different practices to target different issues, gave praise when I was moving in positive directions (and encouragement when I was not). It was a lot, but my desire to take hold of my life and figure things out (to whatever point I was able) motivated me. And Carla motivated me, because she had such sincere belief that I could do this thing! Carla's lovingkindness to her fellow human being is her standout quality - it is evident in her honest responses to interactive journal entries, or when as a firm but gentle guide she drills down to what needs to be exposed and seen and understood. She wanted me to be able to do these things on my own. There is something very selfless in this approach - she wants me to have all the tools so I can go forward without fear, grounded in a sense of my own value and worth, understanding and nurturing my passions and my real authentic self. What…read moreis the point of asking if I'm feeling suicidal and like self harming as I'm leaving if when I say "yes" to both questions, you don't acknowledge what I said and discharge me anyway? On a less major but also negligent note, they gave me hot chocolate with cinnamon despite me telling several nurses and doctors I'm allergic to cinnamon. Again, they're lucky it's a mild allergy. Another patient triggered a trauma response in me and a nurse treated me like I was overreacting when I started acting more anxious. The therapist, Bailie was the only good thing about this place. She was very sympathetic to my situation and also helped me reframe some of my self esteem issues. Thank you, Bailie! Yall are just begging for a lawsuit honestly. Do better.
