This is a combination A&W Long John Silvers location…read more Straight up done with this location. My previous review was on sub par food. I'll attach the photos to this review too... I haven't been back until today I ordered online. The system told me my pick up time was 540 PM. I arrived early and sat in the lot. At about 539 PM I walked up and tried the door. It was locked. I pulled around to the drive through and a female voice came on and said they were closed. I said I'd placed an online order and I was here at my scheduled time. The voice changed. This time a male voice who said they were the manager. He said they were closed. I asked why the online system accepted my order and what about the charge to my account. His answer... They closed over an hour before my scheduled time. It happens and that I would have to dispute the charge with my bank. WTF? Thanks for absolutely... Nothing! I've worked in IT for 30 years. No. It just doesn't happen. Whoever designs the application sets hours for a location. The online system doesn't accept orders outside of operating hours. Check out the Great Clips app or any app for anyone not Long John Silvers... Even with hours being set in the app normally a manager or owner has the ability to shut down online ordering if hours change or the volume gets too high to accept online orders. Google says they close at 900 PM. Bing says 1000 PM. The Long John Silvers site says they close at 1000 PM. Again... WTF x2? I'm over it. I'll never stop at this location again. If they continue this kind of operating model and customer service it probably won't be long until they shut down anyway. Too bad as I've lived in the West suburbs the majority of my 33 years in the metro and this has been my frequented location. Krispy Krunchy Chicken on 22nd in West Des Moines has VERY good fish and chicken tenders too.

Walked there for a Saturday snack and they closed half hour earlier than posted hours. Who runs…read morethis place? Come on! Lights on, employees there. Guy met us at the door said closed

Baxter's Grill is the kind of place you go when you want to leave absolutely stuffed without…read moreblowing your budget. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish. The atmosphere is quite and a little rundown. We stopped in for the first time on a holiday, and they happened to be running a buffet (not sure if that's a regular thing). It worked out great because I got to sample a little bit of everything--ham, potatoes and gravy, fried chicken, and more. My lady ordered the chicken melt, and we also grabbed a tenderloin and honey BBQ wings to go. Portions across the board are big and filling. Most of the food was solid, though nothing really stood out--until dessert. The Oreo cheesecake? Absolute perfection. Anytime I'm passing through Fremont, I'm stopping here.

What a treasure!! My wife and I stumbled upon Baxters about 5 years ago. It's wonderful. The food…read moreis simple and very tasty. No high frills special grind ground beef here. Just a solid hamburger with a well toasted bun, fresh toppings, and a choice of about 8 or so different kinds of sides. I've had the fried pork tenderloin which is the side of a dinner plate and a few of the burgers. My favorite is the chipotle burger with jalapeños and jack cheese with a smokey hot mayo that is scrumptious. The maple burger is epic too!! Try the onion rings that are a huge pile set for a family. Don't think of eating them yourself. Service is down home and very efficient. Don't be surprised to wait a bit for a table in this small town as there were two servers and a ton of people on the nights we've been. It's not pretentious but very great service. Ambience is machine shed, small town charm. It's comfortable. You'll see people you know and everyone else seems to know one another. You might be sitting next to your neighbors!! Try Baxter's!! Make the drive and check it out if you haven't. It's worth the drive.

Ruthie's definitely lived up to the hype! We've had this place recommended to us for years, so to…read morecelebrate a big milestone, my fiancé took me here. We were able to snag a last-minute reservation on OpenTable, and the entire experience was wonderful. Our waitress was incredibly attentive--our water glasses were refilled frequently, and even when the restaurant got busy, she made sure to check on us. We were seated in a cozy, intimate circular booth on the side, which made the evening feel even more special. What I'd Order Again: Alaskan King Crab Legs - Pro tip: Order these as a side to another dish instead of as an entrée--it's much cheaper that way! The crab was incredibly fresh, thanks to their flash-freezing process, and it really hit the spot. Lobster Bisque - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I added this last-minute when our waitress mentioned that people travel just to try it, and it did not disappoint. The freshly cracked pepper, along with the truffle accents, made this so flavorful and rich. Cocktails - The drinks were fantastic! I had the Tweed Jacket cocktail and really enjoyed it. What made it even cooler was that our waitress actually created a cocktail that got added to the menu when she started working there--so cool! Scallops - Perfectly cooked with a stunning presentation. While I've had better on the coasts, I was impressed given that we're in Iowa. Desserts (HIGHLY recommend the homemade coffee ice cream & tiramisu!) - The tiramisu was amazing, and I could tell it was homemade because I nearly choked on the cocoa powder (the ultimate test!). But the real star? The homemade coffee ice cream--absolutely phenomenal. What I Wouldn't Order Again: Jumbo Crab Cake - It was good, but it had that slightly "old crab" taste and reminded me more of snow crab than the rich, sweet crab flavor I was hoping for. Given that I'm from Seattle, my seafood standards are high, so this didn't quite meet expectations. Brussels Sprouts - Great flavor, but I prefer mine extra crispy, and these weren't quite there. 10 oz Filet Mignon - It was cooked to the right temperature, but it wasn't as juicy as other steaks I've had in Iowa. Good, but not particularly memorable. Other Notes: Shareable Side Dishes - One thing I really liked was that their side dishes are all shareable, so they feel more like appetizers than traditional sides. It makes it easy to try a variety, and I definitely want to explore more of them when I come back! Location & Accessibility - Even though Ruthie's is inside a casino, it's tucked on the side, so you don't have to deal with the cigarette smell. Parking is plentiful, though depending on where you park, it might be a bit of a walk. Bathrooms - The restrooms are located outside the restaurant on the right--not too far of a walk. Final Thoughts: Ruthie's is a true gem, and I can see why it's so highly recommended. The service was outstanding, the food was top-tier, and the small details--from our cozy booth to our waitress's personal touch on the cocktail menu--made the night extra special. It's the kind of place that turns a meal into a memory, and I can't wait to come back.

A little out of the way most times but glad way went the extra mile tonight. I recommend this place 100%!!! The filet lollipops, for an appetizer, were amazing!!! Then came our entrees. All of us got steak and NO ONE was disappointed!!! All done to protection, the way a great steakhouse is supposed to operate. Our server was above and beyond helpful in making our decisions easy and would take his advise time and time again when ordering. Filet was perfect and the Gouda cheese potatoes as a side were to die for!! Definitely go here!!!
