Went through the drive through to pick up a prescription for my daughter. The prescription was sent in about 6 weeks ago and when I went to pick it up before, I was told it was too early. Now I came back and they said their system doesn't notify them when to fill prescriptions (ridiculous) and that they had waited so long that the prescription had expired so now they can't fill it. That aside, the "Lead Tech" was unbelievably rude, constantly cutting me off and talking over me. Even when I called him out for being extremely rude and unprofessional, he immediately interrupted me several more times. He also never gave me my credit card back so now I have to drive back to get it. This guy needs some day-1 customer service training and some training around manners. read more

Consistently inept and indifferent pharmacy service over several years. Have placed refill orders online and trusted that they'd be ready for pick-up when promised only to discover they've been 'delayed.' When I call or visit to resolve issue, they can't figure out why it was delayed and ask me to come back in 15 mins. I also received another person's prescription, and when I brought it back to the store I got a blank stare instead of apology for error or appreciation of my returning it. Understaffing due to Walgreens corporate policy or economy puts unfair pressure on employees which leads to mistakes and horrible customer service. read more

We put up with really poor service for years (medications never ready when promised - always delayed, needing to call multiple times to request medications and being hung up on). This place seems to be breaking in some new staff, and it's not going well. A good week after the doctor called it in, I get a text message saying my prescription was "delayed". On the phone, they check and say "we don't have that in stock." "Any idea when it will be in stock? I've gotten this medication from you several times before." "No, not really- could be a week or more." "Do any other Walgreens nearby have it?" "I dunno..." "Can you check?" "Oh um okay... uh looks like Billerica has some." "I could go drive there or...Hey do you think they'd send it to us here?" "Oh um yeah..." "...so...Think you could ask them?" "oh okay..." (computer tapping) "ok they can get it to us by tomorrow. Come in anytime after 3pm." Me, arriving at 4:30pm the next day: "Yay, Picking up my prescription!" "Oh we don't have it ready yet... still working on it... come back in 20 minutes." (I go away and come back, eating up more of my day, no other errands to do nearby) "Here it is. That'll be $200." "Hey don't you have my insurance?" "What? Oh um... lemme see... oh it looks here like it tried to bill the old one." "Do you have my new one? I gave it to you a month ago. Should be on file." Nightmare experience trying to get a prescription. It was called at 11:00 AM. The estimate was 4:20 so got there at 4:40. I used the drive thru as was pretty sick from end stage ovarian cancer. On palliative care & 4th chemo not working well. My hubby usually goes but he had to help my daughter who just had a baby. Four kids under 7. So, when I got there they said tomorrow & I said no that doesn't work. Clerk said okay about 30 & we'll text you. I've had massive pain & partial bowel blockages for 7-8 days w vomiting at nite. The meds were a strong gas reducer to help witch the intestinal issues. Many ovarian ca ladies die from bowel blockages. Never got a text so went back an hour later- went into store to pharmacy. They said "it will be awhile - there are people more important waiting for painkillers & vaccines. I then explained in tears that this was for horrid intestinal pain for advanced cancer. She didn't care, apologize or say sorry. Just said you'll have to wait. No seats as all were full. I just stepped back & clung to a shelf & cried. A kind man tried to comfort me- he said " I know this place is horrible ". You take my seat. There are angels out there. Another 15 -20 min. & finally got the script. I need to change pharmacies but I save 150 dollars a year w my insurance. This super long weight happens all the time --so time to move to CVS or Osco. I threw up on the way home but wish I'd done it in their waiting room. read more

Poor customer service. My daughter (16) got a needle stick while at work and I searched all nearby pharmacies for the medication needed. Walgreens in Westford told me they had it. and it would be filled by the next day. The clerk called me an hour later and said that they read the dosing wrong but could give me a partial fill and would order the rest. The following day I received a text saying the remainder was filled. I drove 25 minutes to pick it up and was told it would be over an hour to fill it. I asked if it could be filled and I'ld be back the next day. I called the next morning and waited 45 mins in the queue. When I spoke with a clerk I was told it would be an hour. I asked if it could be filled and I was on my way. When I arrived I was told it wasn't filled and that they couldn't fill it. Its a time sensitive medication and I asked why they didn't contact me( I was now out of the medication). The pharmacist told me they tried locating it saw Lowell had some. They sent someone up to pick it up but realized it was the wrong dosage. This was two days prior. I reiterated that I spoke with two separate clerks and know. I told her that was either poor training or poor communication on her part because I am now out of a time sensitive medication. I asked if they had any and she said that they could do a partial refill. I said I'ld take whatever they had and if they could order the rest. The pharmacist appeared to be filling my order and walked over to the counter I was standing at and didn't even look at me. She told the clerk..here's her stuff. The clerk handing me a bag with 3 pills in it. A single dose is two pills. I explained this to her and she walked over to the pharmacist and She threw in another pill and never changed any of the markings. I asked the clerk why only 3 and how many did they have. She said they had 16 pills. I asked why I couldn't get all the pills and they could order more. She handed me the bag and told me they would reach out to me later and give me an update if they could fill the script. But that I should start looking at other pharmacies that might have it. I asked her several more questions and all she kept saying was she would call me later that afternoon with an update. She dismissed me...and never called. I went back to Tewksbury CVS and consulted with them. They asked me a few questions -which Walgreens never did. And I had a new prescription ordered and the script was filled in by that afternoon. I have tried several times to file a complaint on the Walgreens website: sent one to management and it was kicked backed. I went onto their AI agent and it gave me an email address....shockingly I got an email response saying it was only a temporary address and no longer working. So I went onto Mass.gov and looked under the pharmacy oversight committee and sent it to them. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens has either gotten my prescription wrong or the date it'd be ready wrong almost every time I've used them (probably 10 plus times). They don't communicate when things will be ready, you will wait on hold for long periods if you call to find out if it's ready, and even after confirming it's ready there's a good chance it won't be when you arrive. This is not a great pharmacy. They are grossly understaffed and every time I go to pick up my monthly medications, it's a different price. Once, it was a couple hundred dollars and they said insurance wouldn't cover after the doctor re-approved the Rx. It was always covered before with a lower co-pay. I went back to Walgreens after talking to my insurance company who said they never received the request for the medication. I asked the assistant and they said they tried to re-run it and it was the same high price. A month later, it was back to the co-pay level. With another medication, it changes in the costs each month and again, I called my insurance company and they said they never received the claim. I spoke with someone on the phone at the pharmacy and they said to come back to re-run it with the unopened medication. They won't say why every time of my three medications I get a different price, but I am guessing they don't consistently run it through insurance and may sometimes use GoodRx, or use nothing at all. We also switched insurance nearly a year ago, and I had to give it to them 4x before they finally got it right and had it "on file". Not to mention when I go, expect at least 15-20 minutes of wait time, even if there isn't anyone else inline. The staff that they have is always changing and clearly getting trained and they are already understaffed. I don't trust them and have to be more proactive than I should have to be about my medications and costs, but they are the most convenient with the best hours in the area I live, so don't have much choice with my work schedule. read more

I had been using this Walgreen since it opened. I want to write this review because I always liked the staff. I don't really understand the one-star rating. I remember the first time I picked up a prescription there, they said, "Feel better soon." Despite feeling sick, it lifted my spirit and I appreciated that. The prices at any drugstores can be high although if you know your prices, you can find some good deals at Walgreens. I buy their "Nice" brand trailmixes here periodically. Their vitamins are frequently "Buy 1 Get 1 Free". For folks who are mad at the pharmacy department, you should try the CVS in Chelmsford Center, I switched from that location to this one because the staff was not nice or kind. That said, pharmacies are often short staff. The Westford one even has to support a Drive-Through. Not ideal for the staff. I try to be kind to them so they are motivated to provide better service. read more

I wish I can pick "0." I miss Rite Aid! Worst customer service ever at Walgreens. We used to go to Rite Aid, and was pleased with their service. But when Walgreens bought out Rite Aid, we were forced to go to Walgreens. First example: I had to get a bowel prep medication for my dad but didn't know how to use it. I asked the pharmacist how to use it because the doctor wrote 'use as directed.' She simply said 'use as directed by your doctor.' My doctor didn't teach me how to use it, which is why I asked. All they had to do was spend the extra few minutes to teach me. At Rite Aid, they'd always teach me if I had questions. Second issue: the doctor sent in my dad's and mom's bowel prep medication on the same day. I didn't know it but 2 weeks past and closer to my mom's procedure, she went to Walgreens to get it. The person rudely said 'we don't have anything ready for you.' My mom then said 'do you have anything ready at all?' The person they said 'that's the same thing' and argued with my mom. It's not the same. She wanted to know if she had to call the doctor for it. She did call her doctor who said it was sent to the pharmacy. The technician kept claiming she checked and it wasn't there. I then checked the online system and it was exactly as I suspected. Walgreens filled it but then put it back without telling us, so they just had it on file. One star, since 0 stars isn't an option. All I want is my medications, on time, with hassle-free refills. This location gets it wrong more often then right, leaving me at risk of running out DESPITE my not waiting until the last minute. They claim that they contact a doctor's office, yet multiple docs, and multiple meds were never processed, despite Walgreens pharmacy employees telling me they did contact the drs. Last straw? Meds I take daily never in stock, requested refill Tuesday, had to walk over script from dr for refill, was told it would be in today after 3...called to see if script was ready, and told they don't receive shipments on the weekend. Items in store are marked up significantly. If you order online for store pickup you do get a much lower price. While I was in store, the manager, an elderly lady tried her best to not have to do a price match on an item that was marked up by more than $8.00 in store. Horrible customer service and insulting. We were happy with Rite Aid, but the acquisition by Walgreens changed everything. We were recently shorted on a prescription and then lectured on how the doctor did not know how to write the prescriptions and that was told that Rite Aid fraudulently filling our prescription previously because it was for 33 days instead of 30. Her solution was to fill our prescription for 16 days and short us 14 days.... of insulin. Anyone with diabetes knows how much insulin you take daily varies, but it is critical to have everyday. Horrific behavior, no common sense and no problem running up the number of times we fill the prescription so they could drive up our co-pay. Very disappointed and people should beware. read more

This Walgreens is not only not friendly and kind, but when I requested my prescription be filled in urgency due to my insulin pump running low on insulin, by the time I got there on my lunch break they said it wasn't ready and they can't do anything to have that filled sooner. Walgreens pharmacy is horrendous in Westford. Customer service is awful. It's like they don't even listen to you. We were forced to switch to their pharmacy when rite aid went out of business. Either the former rite aid customers get treated like second class citizens or everyone at Walgreens Does. I'm not sure but both inside store and drive thru line both equally frustrating. There used to be a few friendly and professional pharmacists there who moved over from rite aid but they didn't stay long, probably didn't enjoy the negative and unprofessional culture. Everyone we know who switched to Walgreens feels the same way. We have a family of four with some significant medical needs so the thought of switching pharmacies again is daunting but we are looking around. We called in prescription recently and when I showed up to pick it up, they said they didn't fill it because we weren't sure we wanted it because it was expensive. That's why you call in a prescription to pick it up!!!!! The pharmacist who only spoke to me with her back turned accused me of not spelling my own name correctly when I said it three different times!!! There are a million examples. How I miss Rite Aid! Pharmacy only has one person for pick up/ drop off and the customer being served had a problem that took forever to solve. All the other staff members did not care about the line, except for the drive through. I always wait for the back-to-school sales so I can purchase an abundant supply of colored folders to organize the backup/draft articles for my two monthly magazines. Walgreens advertised folders for 9 cents each, but when I got to the store the first day of the sale, there were no more left. Last year, I believe you could purchase how many you wanted, but this year, you're limited to 12--hardly enough for my purposes but better than nothing. Have my rain check in hand. The person who helped me clearly didn't want to be working, as she had a slight attitude. However, considering she was the only one I saw in this store besides the cashier, I suppose I'd have an attitude too. People were pulling her from all sides and I could tell she was overwhelmed. This relatively new freestanding store is messier than its Chelmsford counterpart, and it needs more help and merchandise. NOTE: Whoever designed the entrance to this place needed a better plan. You have to drive through the entrance of Chili's and then go straight and then turn left to get to the front. And you can only make a right turn at the exit. No easy in, easy out. read more
