I had a couple of questions at the pharmacy. Everyone (there were 3 to 4 employees) behind the counter couldn't be bothered with a paying customer as they ignored me and went about their work. Apparently loading new supplies is more important than customer service. But kudos to Ify who saved the day. She stopped what she was doing to answer my questions. I needed the pharmacy contact info to transfer my prescriptions from my Walgreen's in CA. Ify took the time to write out the info I needed. She was so pleasant and helpful!! She gets 5 starts....the rest of the staff get 1 star. The cashier was also very inept. She kept me waiting while she waited for some type of approval but never explained why she kept me waiting. She also took a long time for a simple transaction. I'm frustrated that because I use Walgreen's in CA and this is the closest one to me here, I'm stuck with them. Next time I will report my feedback the national Walgreen's chain. Yea, Ify! The rest need to get out of customer service related jobs! We have been in Santa Fe for a little over a year and decided to use Walgreen's at Airport Road since we have always used Walgreen's where we lived. They started out rated very low and our experience was very low, too. We looked into moving our meds to another Walgreens in Santa Fe but the rest of the pharmacies in Santa Fe also had bad ratings:( But we stuck with them since it looked like a staffing issue. Our last visits have been a vast improvement, and we think they have moved up to a 4 star. They seem to be fully staffed at the moment. My wife actually got them to answer the phone today! If I could give this place a zero, I would. Long wait times, snarky staff, no one answers the phone. And then the store itself feels aged and dirty. A dirty pharmacy is kind of a non starter. Over the last three months I have had multiple experiences of waiting for well over 30 minutes each time. Not counting the times I simply walked out because the line was too long. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PHARMACY EVER - CONSIDER THE ONE STAR RATING A MINUS ONE STAR (only because I had to select at least one star to post the rating)! I called this store on Christmas Eve to see if a prescription was ready and was told they didn't have current insurance information so I drove to the hospital that prescribed the medication because I knew the information was on file there. The hospital told me that Walgreens could have looked it up since I gave them the carrier's information and the patient's full name because they have access to the same system as the hospital. I then tried to call Walgreens back to provide the insurance information so they could fill the prescription. While I was on hold for the 3rd time for over 30 minutes each time (had to call back because the call kept getting disconnected) I walked into the pharmacy as Christus St. Vincent and they said they could transfer the prescription but weren't sure they could get anyone to answer the phone. Over the next 2 hours, I continued to try to call Walgreens to try to get the prescription filled before the holiday and time was running out since they closed early that day and I wasn't sure whether the Pharmacist at Christus could get the prescriptions transferred. After 2 hours, I returned to Christus Pharmacy and the prescriptions were ready and waiting for me. For what it's worth, Walgreens NEVER answered the phone and today, five days later, they called the patient and said they had filled the prescriptions and they were ready to be picked up (even after they had been transferred to another store), presumably they never looked up the insurance and filled it for cash pay. The price Walgreens quoted me for the prescriptions on Christmas Eve was over $160 and I was able to purchase them for $32.00 at Christus. I have now been on hold for another 2 hours (six calls total so far) and they have not answered. At one point, I asked to speak to the manager to try to elicit some help and she offered to put me through and said she would make sure they picked up. Nope!!! *UPDATE with more pics* Having energy is hard because of my debilitating migraines. Regardless the pharm person said it would for sure for the 90 day supply be ready by 3pm today. I get there not half an hour ago and somehow it doesn't exist in their system and they still want me to pay $1,250 because the 30 day supply is the only one on their end. Tell me how it's on the Walgreens app that it's being filled and in store the 90 day prescription doesn't exist in their computer. I'd give this a zero star rating if I could. I have been a dropped call multiple times at my location. I usually have to give up after over a total of 40 minutes to just get someone to talk about my prescriptions. My Walgreens is severely understaffed not just my opinion, rather the staff itself, telling me they are worn thin and feeling unappreciated. It would be great if I could just go in myself to check in on my meds (because the app is wildly buggy and unhelpful), but the medication I am in dire need of is one that keeps me working properly and gives me the ability to go outside... and it is always is out of stock. This time, I've waited a combined time of 50+ minutes today, and the medication has been out of stock for over a week now. They only have part of my prescription available. In case you don't believe me I'm showing my personal wait times for my prescriptions at said location The nearest one that *might* have it in stock is over a hour away by car. How can I reasonably go about my week if my migraine medication is never available and I have to sit on the phone waiting for almost an hour on to give up? I have a life, I have other important appointments I HAVE to get to or I get let go of. I cannot drive without my medication because my migraines are incredibly debilitating. read more

Worst pharmacy I have EVER experienced. I moved here a year and a half ago....unfortunately my new insurance does business with Wahlgreens (used to be CVS).. So, I've come to this particular Wahlgreens on Airport Rd for prescriptions at least 15 times in that time span, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that my prescriptions, even though I check over the phone (now), is never, ever 100% filled by the time I go to pick it up. That means, 15 times at least, I have waited 20 minutes for the rest of or all of my prescription to be filled. By my calculations, that is five hours of my life, wasted by superior ineptitude on behalf of Walgreens. Keep this up, and I may start sending them a bill for my time. If you are a fan of the Seinfeld show, you will remember the car reservation episode. To paraphrase that show, "You know how to take a prescription, you just don't know how to fill a prescription!" Bottom line, I suggest you go anywhere else other than this Walgreens, unless you are masochistic or are just really in to wasting your own time. This is a pervasive issue...consistency like this anywhere else would be a good thing, but not with late prescriptions. That means, it is clearly very, very poorly managed. I never, ever had this type of issue with any CVS pharmacy, ever. Get your act together, Walgreens...this is shameful! read more

June 2024: Store is good, liquor department is good. Pharmacy not good. I was on the way to pick up the grand kids so I was mindful of the current time. Walgreens was on my route. I noticed the drive-thru was empty so I decided to pull up as I would the only car there. The young woman promptly acknowledged me over the intercom system and proceeded to never come to the window or further acknowledge my presence. I waited for 35 minutes (mindful of time cuz of children). I got pretty bugged so I drove around and went inside. Not a single person in line. I walked straight to the window, got my rx, paid for rx then proceeded to speak my mind directly to the young woman who ignored me. She attempted to direct me to the pharmacist, who she stated was in charge but I redirected back to her. I have already chosen a different pharmacy and I will never return to the Airport Road location. Note: This is NOT the first issue I've had with this location. There always seems to be a problem getting things filled. I thought it was my doctor so I hammered him pretty good. Seems I owe him an apology. Looking at the reviews it seems they have just given up. Try doing your job. If the pay is good enough, find another job. read more

This Walgreens is chronically understaffed, can't be reached by phone, and is unreliable about filling prescriptions on a timely basis. Was recently closed for two days, presumably because it didn't have a pharmacist I' ve been waiting three days for it to fill a new Rx for a heart med that my Dr wanted me to begin taking right away, and it is unable to tell me when it will be filled. I'll be moving my biz to Amazon pharmacy for all future rxs and refills. read more

Go to Walmart instead! Here's my experience: By far the worst pharmacy in existence. It took me EIGHT trips there just to pick up two prescriptions. They're always closed even during the hours they claim to be open. When they're actually there, the lines are obscene, so expect to wait at least an hour. One of my rx's had the wrong doctors name printed on it... presumably someone entered the info incorrectly, which made me nervous and wondering if they can't get the doctor's names right, if my medication itself was correct. My second time filling a rx there, I requested it filled three days in advance, and when I went to pick it up, it still hadn't been filled. Then the wait to fill it was so long they made me 15 min late to work. I transferred my rx's to another pharmacy and Walgreens transferred the info incorrectly at HALF the dosage I actually need. When I called to have it corrected they claimed what they sent was correct and then hung up on me. They also tried to tell me my rx (pantoprazole) is otc and to just go buy it at the store instead--which is not true as pantoprazole is a rx only medication. Do they even know what they're doing?? I had to call my doctor and have him send a new rx to the new pharmacy instead. Such a fiasco. read more

They never let me know if my medicine is ready. I had to drive over to find out if it's ready, and they still give me lousy service at the counter desk. The employees are never pleasant. This Walgreens is absolutely terrible. Today I went there twice to pick up my prescriptions. The first time I waited at the pharmacy for nearly 20 minutes. Apparently the pharmacist was late and they weren't observing their posted times until he/she got out of bed. I returned later that day and the person that was working the window (who clearly saw me waiting for a couple of minutes..I had rang the bell) put up a sign saying that the pharmacist wasn't there and went on her lunch break. Not a single word but just a blatant Fuck You! I realize that people need breaks but this was totally unnecessary. I've spent nearly an hour driving around in 100 degree weather and I still don't have my medications. This is not my first bad experience with this location. We made appointments on line for fourth booster COVID19 vaccination. The young lady at Pharmacy was polite, easy going and knowledgeable. She was quick and thorough. While we waited we watched another customer picking up a prescription asking about his medical card. He thought the pharmacy had it. Another attendant at pharmacy was looking everywhere for it. He was polite and patient with situation. He asking nicely if the customer had checked his pockets. Of course, when customer checked pockets he found his card. The customer was very apologetic and the attendant was very kind. We received our vaccination without any problems. Thanks you for the professionalism from all we talked with. read more

Every time my husband is sick, including Covid, this pharmacy makes me wait for more than one hour. The pharmacist refuses to give the medication prescribed by the doctor. Right now I am waiting for more than 20 minutes only to talk to them over the phone because I saw the medication is delayed and under review, so I know that again they will not give him what the doctor prescribed. I truly hate when my husband tells the doctor to send prescriptions over to Walgreens because I am the one picking it up and having to deal with their attitude. Cathy the Pharmacist at this store yells at customers if she does not approve of how they wear their mask or they stand too close. I could not believe how she was screaming at this old man and threatening to throw him out of "her" store. Rude and unprofessional! Also, it takes forever for this Walgreens to receive and process a doctor's prescription. Why does CVS have it instantly and this Walgreens takes hours?? The pharmacist, she's an older lady is extremely rude. There was a Hispanic male that didn't speak English and she was incredibly rude to him. She hated the fact that she had to speak Spanish to him, she's obviously racist which is ironic because she looks very Hispanic herself. She continued to comment that she hated the fact that she had to speak Spanish to a Mexican. WTH? I guess she can do whatever she wants because they are always low on staff so she takes advantage of it and does as she pleases. This store is consistent - consistently going downhill in service and stock, not to mention their pharmacy ... which is a disaster. I acknowledge that they do not have enough staff in the pharmacy, which they use as an excuse along with we are so sorry, over and over, but this has been going on for a long time and it is well past a reasonable amount of time needed to remedy the situation. Perhaps they should just close the pharmacy if they cannot provide good service. It actually makes we worried about what is in my bottle of pills - is there a standard for someone double checking all filled prescriptions before they are put on the to-be-picked-up shelf? And don't even try to call and talk to the pharmacy. Last time I tried to call in I was put through their horrifically long automated system only to be put on hold by the pharmacy once a line actually freed up, immediately put on hold, repeat, repeat, repeat, and then they hung up on. Four or five times through this routine and you will really get pi%^ed off. Plus you've now wasted hours on the phone. You cannot email them, so either you phone the pharmacy or go down there in person. At that point - believe me - they did not want me there in person. I've gone there for our prescriptions for over 10 years and am going to move everything to another pharmacy - even if it is on the other side of town. Walgreens on Airport needs to figure it out - or get new management - or something ... anything would be an improvement. read more

FYI be very careful at the pharmacy on Airport Rd. I went in early on a Sat (had appointment) for booster and flu shot. The clerk asked for my SS# to varify my insurance. I wasn,t comfortable with this. I was upfront with the clerk and told him to destroy the paper.. On Monday I received notice from Lifelock that there was an attempt to open a credit card with Citibank in my name. NOT ME! The app never went anywhere thanks to Lifelock. I know it had to be the clerk using or selling my info. Went back and talked to the pharmacist who was there on Sat also pointed out the male clerk. He stated that there were no past complaints. The pharmacist Kathy is the rudest person I have ever encountered. She makes you feel as if you are inconveniencing her by making her do her job; which she does not do very well. I have complained 2 times to the manager regarding this pharmacist but obviously nothing has been done as she is still working there. I always have the most horrible service here at this very spot EVERY time. Over the phone and in person as well. Over the phone I get frustrated automatically because it doesn't matter who answers, usually it's a woman and she's sarcastic, rude, and overall unprofessional. I will get her name and list it in review. I continue to go to this place because if not I would have to drive out of my way to pick up elsewhere. I wish they would hold staff accountable for how they treat customers. We are going in for prescriptions because we are sick, or feeling some type of way. We pay a lot of money for our prescriptions or insurance so the last thing we need is an attitude upon arrival. Have some pride in your work. It's shocking how little help the pharmacists are at any of the Santa Fe locations. I was sold a defective pray bottle for allergy medication, which cost me $75. The spray top does not work. These geniuses told me that there's nothing they could do except have me get another prescription, which would cost me another $75. Then I should call the manufacturer and maybe they would reimburse me. Really? How crazy does that sound -- these jerks sell me a defective product and now I'm supposed to pay twice. Wow. I am surprised Walgreens are still in business. Many times they are out of our medications. They stopped stocking a common medication that a member of my family has been using for 4 years.
