Called back and on hold another 20 minutes. I gave up. No one in pharmacy every answered. read more

Photo center is great. There's always someone present to help. Recently one of my photos was missing and they replaced it immediately. Plus gave me an extra 5 x 7 for the inconvenience. The store is always clean and despite the surrounding location, I always feel safe. The pharmacy is a little slower and the staff appears to be overwhelmed at times. Overall, great store. read more

24/7 pharmacy! This is one of the few Walgreens that has a pharmacy open all day and night! Feeling bad at 4am? They got you. However, I always, always expect to wait at this place. They're always understaffed. It seems like they get the customers who wanna pay with coupons and pennies when I'm trying to zoom in and zoom outta there. Snails pace. The aisles here aren't so clean. The parking lot is often a mess. This location is directly across the street from CVS in the Medical Center, so it's a hotspot for pharmacies. They're probably some of the busiest in town! You can drive behind this WAG to get to the other direction of traffic when exiting / entering. It's not an especially attractive Walgreens either. Meh. It's okay. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The employees there look at you like you're bothering them, don't acknowledge you're there and just plain rude! Never again. Next time I need FedEx, I'm waiting for the FedEx location to open. read more

Months ago they used to be helpful but recently they don't answer the phone, it rings and rings until it hangs up on you. They can't give you any estimation of when your medication will be ready. Terrible service. read more

Went here to get a prescription filled around 1pm. I'm not sure how many people were in the drive-thru line, but there was two people in front of me in the store, with two clerks. Once it was my turn, I gave the prescription and was told it'll be about an hour. Before the clerk let me go, she made sure that they had the medication in stock. She then came back saying she did and I was wondering why they couldn't just get it signed off by the pharmacist right there if they already brought the medication off the shelf. I didn't question it and just left with the plan to come back in an hour. I got back at about an hour and a half and again, had a few people in line before me. Once it was my turn, it was surprised that they said it wasn't ready yet. The prescription was for five pills and they couldn't get it counted/verified in an hour? Luckily, the second clerk thought it was ridiculous as well and front loaded it to be verified next by the pharmacist. I feel like the first clerk, knowing it was only five pills, could've done the same, but so be it. read more

Strike two with this Walgreens. What's the point in having operating hours and posting them everywhere if you're just going to make them up as you go along? I use this Walgreens as my preferred pharmacy because it's the only one in the city that's open 24/7. Show up today and there's a note that says they're closed from 10pm last night until 8am this morning. It concludes by saying "sorry for the inconvenience" - considering you fulfill medicines that people may depend on to live, yeah I guess death could be a inconvenience. EDIT: Strike 3: after waiting over 2 hours they opened late and helped the lady next to me first even though I had been sitting in the lanes for over 30 minutes before she even pulled up. She goes happily on her way and then they help the guy next to me and he's explaining this dramatic story about his kids and Disney and he called yesterday and I'm twiddling my thumbs like that's unfortunate - about my meds?! They finally come over the speaker and tell me their prescription printer is down. I'll find a new pharmacy because this place is a dumpster fire of disorganization and service. read more

I recently moved nearby so I figured I would use Walgreens as my new pharmacy. Had the doctor send in a few prescriptions, signed up to an auto-notification system a few hours later. Didn't ever get a text back. Ten days pass and I call them asking what was wrong. Turns out they don't take medicare and so they didn't even order the medicine. Now I gotta wait even longer to get the meds I need because they didn't tell me. 0/5, avoid. read more

I waited about 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment for my covid vaccine. Then the pharmacist apparently doesn't know how to administer a shot properly. He administered it as if he was putting it into the rump of a buffalo, super hard! I weigh about 140 but he seemed to think I had skin like a buffalo, thick and tough! After 72 year's of getting all types of shots, this was the absolute worse shot I have ever received! I will never, ever return to this location again for shots! Plus I have told my family the same thing. If a person has thick, tough buffalo skin then this is the place for them! read more

First of all I would give 0 stars however I went from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital and they sent the prescriptions over. When I got there was a wait for ten minutes then they said they didn't have the prescriptions and that it would take 30 minutes to fill. Thirty minutes later still no prescriptions, they didn't text and we had to call an hour later to find out the prescriptions were ready. This time it took a whole 35 minutes to get my meds. read more

Worst place to go with set appointment for vaccine even if you get there early they tell you that vaccine can only be giving at set appointment time just so when the time of appointment comes they will not provide vaccine and will sit for another hour of wait time.. So don't bother CVS was able to process immediately. read more

I use this pharmacy because it's one of the few 24 hour ones. Usually it's busy but today it was severely busy. I've been in the drive thru for 42 minutes now and with still a car in front of me, it's still not even my turn. They need more staff asap or have more locations become 24 hour ones. Very friendly vibe. Very close to the medical center. Super layout. Older but well worn / loved space. Couldn't believe the customer service. Fantastic for a big city. This is a 24 hour Walgreens. Hurray!! I'm in tremendous physical pain, so speed & time is of the essence to get in & out so as to take pain medicine. Not at home, in a far away city, but the care and friendliness of this place, put me at ease. Michael assisted my husband & I and even alerted us to an additional coupon to take advantage that doubled the one I had. I came in for pain meds & chocolate. LOL. So we got 3 packages of m&n's... For only $2. Nice. Now to sign off, take m&n's & wait for pain meds to get to work. read more

I love the convenience of this store and location! I can always find what I am looking for and I appreciate that the Pharmacy hours are 24/7. The staff there are fast and friendly, and the aisles are clean. I like to stroll through the make up aisle and browse the seasonal items sometimes. Overall, this is one of my favorite Walgreens locations. read more

This is the dirtiest pharmacy area that I have EVER seen. I have come here for years, and each time I am concerned as sick people are here picking up their Rx's in this unclean area. Today takes the cake. There are dried blood drops on the floor, dust piles all over the place....I would hate to see the small treatment area where flu shots are administered, the door to it is filthy. I was shopping at 7802 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78229 after work. As soon as I walked up to the lone cashier, an older gentleman, his register started malfunctioning before he rang up any of my purchases. He tried desperately to fix the issue as the line behind me grew. He finally called the manager for assistance. A second cashier, Juan, came with the manager and proceeded to assist the people waiting in line behind me instead of helping me. I voiced my complaint to both of the manager and Juan, but they made no effort to apologize. I was completely humiliated while everyone in line was helped. read more

Tonight, I'd called the pharmacy to transfer my script to be picked up at this location. Problem is they never helped me. I'd called at 10:00 PM and the tech answered the phone and immediately put me on hold without another word. I was on hold for more than 20 minutes. Then, they pick up the phone and hang up on me. I call back and when it rang they picked it up only to hang up on me again. I call to speak to the manager and was placed on hold for 20 more minutes only to be hung up on AGAIN. I call the pharmacy back and was again on hold for another 30 minutes before being deliberately hung up on. Their professionalism is in the toilet and the way I was treated as a customer was 100% uncalled for. read more

I only came here because it's the only 24 hr pharmacy near me. The service was terrible and incredibly slow. Spent over 30 minutes in the drive-thru line only to get up there and be told that the tamiflu isn't covered by my insurance, which is news to me because they have covered it in the past. The tech suggested I came inside to clear it up, as I wasted another 20 minutes in line I over heard multiple other people asking why their medication wasn't covered by the insurance saying it has always been covered before they reluctantly paid out of pocket. When it was finally my turn I confirmed the with her the insurance info which she insisted everything was entered correctly and it wasn't going through. I'd rather get the flu than pay $130 out of pocket for a medication I know is covered by my insurance. I'll have it called in at my regular pharmacy in the morning. read more

Who's ever in a good mood when your sick? Doing my best with fever I made my way to pick up my prescription at a location farther than I'm use to because of its 24 hour service. Being next to the medical center I was sure they where busy. When I pulled up I saw employees diligently trying to keep up the pace but I new I needed to be patient. They told me it would be 2 hours till my prescription would be ready. I came back longer than I wanted but they had it ready to go. The employee was fast and to the point. I'm thankful for his after hours commitment to work. Easy in easy out! I hope I don't need to return but if I need to ill be back. read more

I needed to fill a prescription at 430 am , and this Walgreens location has a Pharmacy that is open 24 hours . The pharmacist was super friendly for being so early in the morning. I waited a few minutes to get my meds. I was the happiest person at Walgreens. If i even need to fill a prescription that late at night i know where I'm going for sure. read more

Out of my experience from using Walgreen's for my maintenance medication needs, this is simply one of the worst locations ever. Every single time I call, there's always an extensive call wait time. Even when I call randomly! They seem to pick up real quick though when I call a random department, speak with a manager, and get transferred to them. They also have told me it's due to being constantly busy, but when I go inside randomly, it's not. One time I was in line waiting for a medication, I called the pharmacy and it just rang, advising me of a long call wait due to lots of callers, but I never heard it ring. Also, when I wait in their drive thru, I'm better off going home because their wait time there is at least 30+ minutes. This evening, I was in the drive thru line because I received a notification that my medication was ready. I was literally there for about 45 minutes and the seemingly uneducated staff member came to the window and advised me that I was wrong and that the medication wasn't ready. If I were you, I would get my medications filled at the CVS across the street or something. This location is ridiculous. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. Just went to do some shopping and bought a few things. The ad and stickers said that I would get a certain coupon back which I didn't get and manager was called. She said oh maybe because xxx and you didn't get it? I said well unless Walgreens changed their rules this evening, because I went to shop for other things earlier and I did get those advertised coupons. The manager Cruz said that Walgreens doesn't tell them when there are changes. I asked if that was just a generic response they always give? Cruz gave me attitude and said to stop screaming her and she was CLEARLY screaming at me with other customers around and with my son witnessing this. As I'm walking away I asked for her name so I could write a review and rudely says let me write it down for you too. All while other customers are there. This entire time I'm talking in a calm voice while she's screaming and raising her voice up at me. Horrible horrible customer service. The cashier that was there is helpful but ALWAYS seems like he doesn't want to be there but he's calm. I really try to avoid this store as much as possible but it's the only 24hr store on medical center. read more

Service was horrible. Dropped off a prescription at 0700 and was told to be back in an hour. Came back at 1800. Still not ready. Service is so much better at CVS right across the road. The only reason this store does business is no doubt because of their location. I won't ever be back here again for any reason. read more

Update February 2015: I did write a letter to corporate, and got nothing but a form letter email, stating that they received my message, and would have the proper department respond. Never did receive a response. Their ads state "We are at the corner of happy and healthy," but "at the corner of sick and pissed off" is more like it! read more

"Photo center currently under maintenance"....Lame I stopped in this morning hoping to take a passport photo, but of course the photo center was closed. The photo technician was present somewhere in the store but was unable to answer my questions. Another staff member who was very polite and helpful, had to inform me of the situation. I don't care what anyone says... for a person like me having a full time job and odd hours, I appreciate so much that I can get my medication at any time of the day and even my flu shot at 11 at night! My 4 month old's medicine was sent to this pharmacy because they're supposed to be able to compound liquid medicine for babies (and told the doctor's office they could). They call my husband the day after they receive the prescription and say it'll be ready by 4pm. I show up, and they look confused, and they claim they only called to talk about cost of the medicine. Fine, we agree that I'll pick it up the following day. They call the next morning and claim that they don't have the correct ingredients so they'll transfer it somewhere else that can compound the medicine. If you have any experience with compounding medicine, most pharmacies only do it a couple times each week. They decide to tell me on a Saturday, leaving him without his medicine since most places don't compound until at least Monday. Unacceptable service from a pharmacy, in my opinion. read more

I don't even want to put one star. This pharmacy is so poorly run. This is the 3rd time I've come to get meds for myself or a family member and it takes over an hour to be helped, they promise a certain time they'll be ready, and then make you wait an insane amount of time when you come Back at the assigned time. They don't answer their phone so you have no idea if or when your prescription is ready. No organization, under-staffed and a huge headache to deal with when you're already there feeling ill or caring for an ill person. We need more 24 hour pharmacies in San Antonio. Id almost rather suffer through whatever sickness I have through the night just to avoid the frustration of dealing with this pharmacy. read more

This Walgreens constantly makes me mad. But let me just start with the positives- they always have everything I am looking for. If I am not going in for a prescription, then I don't dislike it that much. The cashiers at the front are especially friendly. As for the pharmacy part, this Walgreens needs to get it together. No matter what time of day I go, day or night, this place is super slow with the medications. If I go inside, it's slow. If I go through the drive-through, it's slow. One Sunday morning, when the entire San Antonio area was asleep, I ventured to this Walgreens. There was only one car in front of me in the drive through. Wouldn't you know it, they took forever. Why? Because the pharmacist was texting. The poor Pharmacy Technician is running around like crazy trying to help people. The pharmacist sits there on her phone texting. Now, do I understand the need to text at work every once in a while? I sure do. Would I be mad if the Pharmacist had been doing something else, work-related? No. It's just that there is a time and a place for everything. When you are at work in a customer-service capacity, the customer shouldn't have to wait for your personal life. With that in mind, the pharmacy techs work really hard at this Walgreens. I just think they are understaffed for how busy the medical center Walgreens will be. So, I am usually forgiving, even though I wait upwards of 30 minutes most times. However, when the pharmacist is texting instead of helping me, I think a 2-star review is more than generous. Really- the availability of wine near my home gave it a boost to 2 stars. read more
