My history with this pharmacy goes way back to 12 years ago when they gave my newborn son augmentin, a powerful antibiotic, instead of his prescribed amoxicillin, a standard first line antibiotic, for his first ear infection. I let the mistake slide, because everyone makes mistakes and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. What has prompted this review is the absolutely horrible, condescending way several of their pharmacists have treated me as a patient. One in particular, Rachael, deliberately goes out of her way to make things more difficult for me when I am trying to fill my medications. Even with a physicians prescription, she will often refuse to fill a legitimate rx with the excuse that she simply is not going to fill it. No joke. On one occasion my physician had his nurse hand deliver my prescription to another pharmacy so it would get there before it closed because she was flat out refusing to fill the medication despite the prescription. She is not the only pharmacist there that practices this way, but she is the worst. Over the several years I have gone there, I have been judged, had my integrity questioned, had pharmacists tell me that my insurance was not covering refills when I could see online that the prescriptions had gone through...the list goes on. I am on several medications and unfortunately I have to interact with this place frequently. Most interactions are unpleasant in some way. The pharmacists feel THEY should be the ones practicing medicine, not the physicians who's prescriptions they are supposed to fill, to the extent that they flat out refuse to fill prescriptions written by my physicians. The only reason I have stuck it out with them this long is the convenience of the 24/7 hours and location to my house. However, the way they make filling almost every prescription so inconvenient by passive aggressively refusing to do their job or make it harder for me to obtain my prescriptions when I need them negates this convenience. I have always been extremely nice to them and have never once argued with their decision or lost my temper. I have, however transferred some of my medications to another pharmacy and plan to transfer the rest. If I could give this pharmacy a negative star rating I would. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. In any aspect of medicine, one of the most important things you can do is be compassionate and a healer. There are plenty of choices in Omaha and plenty of caring, considerate pharmacists who genuinely want to help patients. This is obviously not a priority at this location. read more
