During my consultation I was told the standard order of business is 2 syringes in the cheeks. So they sold me 2 syringes. Gave a great discount if I paid cash. After a month my cheeks were lump, noticeable asymmetry and I looked as if I aged 20 year, I go back thinking it could be corrected and was sold another syringe cash for the discount. A month later I contact them because my face was distorted and you could see the filler under my skin. I requested for refund and f it to be corrected. Dr. Abbott insisted that because he trained the injector it was performed correctly. Offered me to purchase another syringe and dissolve the areas that had been over filled. I opted for the dissolve. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SELF, TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!

Dr. Schlessinger was extremely warm and engaging. He quickly quelled my reservations and concerns, and he listened to what I wanted to achieve. For my daughter (the patient) this was something she has been waiting to discuss for quite sometime. So you can image the anticipation and hope she had. Again, let me remind you we where here for this appointment to hear Dr Schlessinger's professional advice on getting this mole removed from my teenage daughter's face. I am writing this review to bring awareness to Dr Schlessinger and how he communicates to his patients and also his bed side manner. Again it was my daughter, me (her mom) and her dad at this appointment with her. Dr Schlessinger looks at her mole and agrees it is something that she should get removed but he would have to probably refer her (due to the location and size of the mole.) Then the next thing he said, I was floored and blown away at the way he communicated it. I was not there to discuss my teenage daughter's acne and again trust me she is more then aware that she suffers with acne, we have dealt with it since she was in 4th grade. She also looks in the mirror and is told by strangers she has acne, we are well aware. He basically tells her that she needs to fix her acne first and she has a yeast bacteria on her face and she is doing a great job covering it up but she needs to fix that. Okay, first off there is a much more gentler and sensitive way to address to a teenage girl that has been dealing with acne most of her life. I could just see her facial expressions from the minute he opened his mouth to insult my child. I was blown away. I sat there for a minute and then I had enough. I kindly reminded him that we were here for a mole consultation and not her acne. I also reminded him that there is a way to communicate that and you are not going to tear my child down even more. It was humiliating for her. Again, my child has thick skin and has been told for years about her acne and now it was a professional dermatologist letting her know you are not beautiful, you don't measure up, and she just felt ugly walking away from that appointment. I understand he might have needed to have addressed her acne for this mole removal but the way he communicated it, was absolutely terrible. Bringing awareness to him and his team at this office! Please be more sensitive and think about how you would want someone to talk to you your child. Please bring hope and not discouragement!! I am sharing this concern because I do not want another patient to go through such a disappointing experience.

Instead, it was very much like going to a doctor's office. You lie on the table (no blankets or robes), the professional washes your face, puts the peel on, takes it off, and 20 minutes later you are done. The upside of a med spa is typically that you don't have to tip (per the other med spa I go to in town for my laser hair removal), but as I was leaving, the receptionist asked about leaving a tip. I ended up leaving one, but certainly didn't tip 20% on a $95 procedure that lasted 20 minutes. So far, the results have been fine, but if I'm doing a facial procedure at a spa, med spa or not, I want a little pampering and relaxation, so I won't be back.

A medical spa is much pricier than a traditional spa but the facility is overseen by doctors, PAs and nurses which is comforting if you are experimenting with some more invasive procedures. One thing I especially appreciate about this facility is their effort to stay compliant with the ever changing world of FDA approvals, medical safety, etc. for example, the FDA recently pulled their approval of the SkinPen (AKA micro needling) and as a result te Bella stopped offering the service. I guarantee you many other places around town are still providing it. And on the topic of the SkinPen, they only allow the PAs and nurses to perform the procedure. They also have some reasonably priced products which I found to be in a similar price point to that of Clinique. Not all are that reasonable but a good number are. As far as med spas go, this one is the top of my list here in Omaha.
