Staff is mostly pleasant however, my issue is with the company. I was supposed to pick up my blood pressure meds in the afternoon but before I could I used my debit card at a Family Dollar and an hour or two later my bank called to say my card had been compromised and therefore locked. I had no other way to get my meds and asked the pharmacist if I could get one or two tablets to tide me over until my new card arrived (I have known other pharmacies to do it). The pharmacist said we don't do that just because you don't have money. I found her response extremely rude. It may be the policy but her delivery was unprofessional, uncaring and unnecessary. I asked to see the store manager and although she repeated the policy with a smile she took said "I'm sorry but we can't give you medicine because you can't afford it". What the hell? I showed her the text from the bank to let her know that it wasn't that I couldn't afford it". I was in a situation and just thought I'd ask. Walgreens you need to train your people better as well as have a little compassion. A pill or two isn't going to bankrupt your business. read more

Last month there was an issue where my prescription needed to be transferred. This location had to call the other pharmacy to have it transferred. This prescription was put in on Wednesday afternoon, I didn't receive this prescription till early Friday morning (between 12-2am) ... I stupidly gave them another chance, my prescription was put in on Thursday around 12pm, it is now Monday evening and I haven't received my prescription. I even had my doctor resend my prescription in twice since they claimed they didn't have it .. I've been waiting to check my prescription status for over an hour.. Our area is fortunate in having a 24-hour pharmacy at this location as medical needs do not always operate in a predictable time frame. They have served the community for many years. I needed a COVID test recently, made an appointment and found that the pharmacy was experiencing either a very large volume of business or a need for employees (this was in the morning hours on a weekday). As it turned out from the test results the test was botched and useless. Fortunately I went to the Chicago Heights CVS store and they got the job done. I actually went in to the store today and heard cashier tell someone in the back that I was calling and no one answered the phone. I continuously heard the phone ring the 30 mins I stood in line and wrote this review while no one answered. The automation line did not see my proscription which is why I wanted to speak with someone to FIND IT so I don't have to stand in their long ah line. I wish I could rate this lower. The pharmacy staff seems to be a constant problem that Walgreens is not interested in solving. It seems that they have no care or empathy as they called the police on someone just trying to get a life saving inhaler. This review is for the Pharmacy at this location. I needed a refill and I needed it TODAY so had to call it in to this 24 hour location as my local Walgreens was closed. I waited on hold for 25 minutes to speak to someone. The recording kept saying "there is one call ahead of you" After about 17 minutes the recording indicated my call was next. Great! Not really. I waited another 8 minutes for someone to answer. After the call was answered, the lady in the pharmacy kept asking the same questions regarding address, phone number, and date of birth again and again. I was then told my prescription would not be ready for 1.5 hours. That was terrible because I had already waited on the phone for 25 minutes and figured I'd just get in the car and head over there. I was only 5 minutes from the store when I found out it was going to be another 1.5 hours. I don't know what they are doing over there however I have never had such a bad experience as this one. read more

Walgreen on Governors and Lincoln HWY- My husband took his prescription to Walgreens at noon. At 6 pm we had not heard anything, he tried to call but the pharmacy phone kept hanging up. At 8 pm we went to Walgreens. At first they said that nothing was called in. He had to tell them he walked it in, they found the prescription but it was not filled. They said the call center had not released the prescription and they were closed. He asked them when were they going to notify him about this issue? What the heck does a call center have to do with me getting my medication especially if I am paying cash? They are the worst I have ever seen. read more

This review has nothing to do with this actual Walgreens and everything to do with the pharmacy. This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I personally do not bring my scripts here but I have other family members that I have to get them for because it is a 24 hour pharmacy and it is very unorganized, the orders are never ready when they say and my experience today is that they never even put it in the computer and it was dropped off 3 hours ago and should have been ready 1.5 hour ago! There has never been a time that I have come in here and was able to pick up my script with no problems. There is always a super long line, sometimes there is a problem with processing it and they don't call to fix it and just wait for you to come to find out they didn't fill it yet. I am completely fed up and will not even be coming to pick up other people prescriptions at this location anymore. read more
