I had an extremely disappointing experience with the pharmacy staff at Walgreens Store #9915, located at 3100 N Andrews Ave, Oakland Park, FL. When I went to pick up my medications, I was told that my health insurance pharmacy coverage was "inactive" and was asked to pay for the medication out of pocket. Concerned, I immediately contacted my health insurance company, and they confirmed that my policy is active and has never been terminated or deactivated. What makes this situation even worse is that no one from the pharmacy informed me of this issue beforehand. I had called earlier the same day to order my medication, and at no point was I advised that there was any problem with my insurance coverage. Had I been notified in advance, I could have contacted my insurance company and resolved the issue before making a trip to the pharmacy. For patients who depend on essential medications, delays like this can have serious health consequences. The lack of communication and attention to detail demonstrated by the pharmacy staff put my health at risk and caused unnecessary stress and frustration. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated issue. The staff often come across as rude, dismissive, and uninterested in helping patients. What was most frustrating was that no one seemed willing to take responsibility or ownership of the problem. Rather than investigating the issue or offering assistance, I was simply told that my insurance was inactive, even though my insurance company confirmed otherwise. There was no accountability, no effort to resolve the situation, and no concern for the impact this could have on a patient's health. Patients deserve clear communication, professionalism, compassion, and competent service; especially when access to critical medications is involved. Based on my experience, this pharmacy failed on all of those fronts. I hope Walgreens management takes these concerns seriously, addresses the lack of accountability within this location, and provides additional training to ensure patients receive the level of care and respect they deserve. read more

Website to order and schedule your vaccine shots is professionally well done. I booked my appointment for 3:40. At 4:10 I finally got my vaccine. The Pharmacy inside was dead. Nobody in line. They said you need to check in. The photo sku was hidden. The photo sku was facing the inside corner toward the pharmacy. You have to walk to the inside corner then you see it!! No other signs saying please check in. I then wait an another few minutes. A person called me up to confirm. But they don't want payment yet because they are not ready! So I wait another ten minutes then they call me up to pay. Then they tell me to wait again. There is no obvious signs on where you get your shots. There is a waiting room next to the pharmacy. Then this other person says we were looking for you. That's the same person that took my payment about 8 minutes ago. I was right next to the pharmacist room where they have chairs! It is not set up efficiently and lack of signs makes it seem like they don't care about running a business. And during that whole time they were really slow at least inside. It doesn't surprise me that they are not doing well and that they have poor reviews. Hopefully the company that took them over will help them to be efficient. Just poorly run and poorly laid out. It took three different people to process me. It is like watching reverse Darwinism in action. read more

Natasha was amazing! She was extremely helpful, kind and caring. I was able to get my passport pictures very fast and easily and to be honest out of all the passport pictures I've ever taken the ones she took of me are by far the best. I'm aware that this review might not reach the right people that can make it happen but I truly believe she needs a raise since I noticed her doing it all and willing to help everyone in the store, every Walgreens should have an employee like her... I was told by another Walgreens that this particular one had the free N95 masks. So we stopped on Feb 1st in the afternoon and sure enough, they had them. The guy who helped us with the masks was friendly, funny and very nice. When he gave me my 3 free masks, he said "It's $15"...... LOL. It is nice to find people that have a good sense of humor and that enjoy their day at work. People like these make shopping a nice experience. There's plenty of parking which you can access from Oakland Park or from Andrews. It is a busy intersection, so keep that in mind. read more

I haven't been to Walgreens in years because I had my prescriptions filled at Publix. My insurance changed this year and I was forced to move pharmacies. I went into the store, which is located in a busy area of Ft. Lauderdale, but I lucked out since no one was in line at the pharmacy. I introduced myself the pharmacy technician that helped me, told her I needed to transfer several scripts and she reached for a special pad to write my info down. I opened my Publix Pharmacy app and we went over each one. It took less than ten minutes and she told me the two I needed refilled would be ready later in the afternoon. It went a lot smoother than I thought it was going to and she was extremely pleasant. The store itself is a newer layout and is a stand alone location which Walgreens built from the ground up. The store is clean, plenty of isle space and parking is never an issue. I'm glad I changed pharmacies! read more

This is one of the larger Walgreens stores and also one with more orderly displays and friendlier service people. It's also spotlessly clean and doesn't have its aisles cluttered with boxes or carts. I was looking for an item I couldn't find. So, I asked a girl the pharmacy section and unlike in some other Walgreens, she knew exactly where it was and when she saw me becoming confused, came out of the pharmacy and escorted me to the item I was looking for which was really nice. I'm used to either having the Walgreens people not knowing if they have an item, or not knowing where it is located, but in the event they do nothing getting a rather general direction such "look in aisles 5." Since this Walgreens and its staff seem better than in most, 4 Yelp Stars. read more

I know that Lorena was busy at the checkout and polite but the other employee never helped me without doing anything and it's not the first time I've been to this store and the same thing happens to me. TLDR: Not a bad Walgreens! __ This Walgreens may be the closest to my house, but it's tricky to get to from me, so I always go to another one. However, on my way home, this has been convinent multiple times, and honestly I like it better than the other one. For one, they don't have the razors under lock and key. I like to keep my cheeks nice and clean and get disposable razors quite often. I hate that at the other one you have to push a button and wait for an associate come and get you. Here, you can just grab them. It's also a nice layout, super organized and staff are friendly enough. read more

No matter how busy they are, the staff at the pharmacy has NEVER given us an attitude when our doctor orders pain medication for our special needs son. Despite my ear infection that was seriously hurting on my right side, I had the most wonderful and pleasant experience at this particular Walgreens thanks to a few staff members in the Pharmacy I'd like to mention. My first encounter was with Nia. What a delight! She is super friendly and professional! Next encounter was Chan. Another exceptional employee who was also super friendly, professional and fun too! Then I meet the team leader I shall call her...the Pharmacist herself (Athena)!!!! What a magnificent lady! She helped me with any questions I had and supplied me with Covid Home Tests which I really appreciate so much! Pharmacy texted me that my prescriptions were ready for pick up. My friend goes to pick up for me and the tell him " we're pretty busy you have to come back later ". WTF???!! Despite having appointments scheduled and all our paperwork completed online prior to arrival, we have been waiting for over an hour as a tech takes papers out of boxes, glances at them and puts them back. Shuffling the same papers over and over and telling us it will be "just a bit longer". Soon the pharmacy will close for a meal break and we're still waiting. They've always been horrible but officially changing pharmacies after this. Last time my dr office had to call them personally and tell them where to find the prescription I needed after a week dilemma they completely lost all my personal and insurance info, said I had never been there before. This time I called in advance and asked them to hold a controlled substance for me as I was out of town. Of course they didn't, and now I have to have my dr office resend it which will take days. I was told everything from "out of stock" to no prescriptions sent by doctor to your doctor is lying that no prescription was sent. Next one will be " insurance issues". I watched this pharmacy go up and down and its now the lowest. I attribute the bad attitude of some of the techs to the RpH who also has the same attitude. Kayon I think. When you call you are treated so rude. Condescending and unprofessional. Scripts not filled or billed by them correctly the onus is placed on the customer to prove and resolve. There are two techs and another RpH Michael who are very nice but you rolled the dice on who you're going to get. I have contacted Corporate with no reply or resolve as evidenced by my latest experience. read more

When I went back they reviewed the tape and then told me they know I got all my pills. They wouldnt let me see the tape. They took 20 pain pills from me. Someone there has a drug problem. I did file a police report and to corporate off. Just so everyone knows this is second time for me. I have found 2 people that this has happened too. But they like most people didn't file police report they just change stores. If this ever happens to you please make police report. The police said they need a few more reports before they assign a detective to investigate them. Count your pills for any ccontrolled substance that you get no matter what store you go to. UNECCESSARY BAD EXPERIENCE Do everything in your power not to go to this pharmacy. I had my doctor send a prescription over to this pharmacy. He asked me at the time he was writing the prescription, which pharmacy I wanted. He answered his own question because as he read my file he saw that it is my custom to use the Walgreens pharmacy near to my residence, the pharmacy at 3100 N Andrews Avenue. He sent the prescription yesterday and I received the text message on my phone last night that told me that the prescription is ready for pick up at the Walgreens pharmacy at 3100 N Andrews Avenue and the the cost of the meds would be $5.00. When I went this morning to pick up my meds, there was only one person at the pickup window. There are two pick up windows so I decided to occupy the second window and wait to be served. As I waited, other customers started to arrive and the pharmacist Kayon D. called for someone to come back to assist with the line of customers which by now had grown to about seven people behind me. When the woman came, she asked if there were any customers who were picking up. I, still standing in the second pick up window, indicated that I was there to pick up meds. She arched her neck to stretch past me to ask the white people to come forward to be served. I tried to be nice about it and asked why she had stepped over me to serve the other people. She continued to ignore me. I asked three times before she acknowledge me. Finally, she asked for my last name. At which time, the white people behind me started to defend her saying that she did ask whether there were any persons picking up. This infuriated me because I was not there to have a conversation with customers. Finally, the pharmacist Kayon D. saw fit to ask what my last name was. When I told her, she asked what my first name was and I told her. She asked me further to state what medicines I had been prescribed. I asked her not to force me to say. She promptly told me that there were no prescriptions there for me. (this is a lie because One, I had received the text that indicated that there was a prescription waiting at that location for me, and Two, I have several recurring prescriptions at that pharmacy). She compounded the lie even further to say that the prescription was sent over to the Walgreens at Inverrary Blvd and told me that she can fill the prescription for me if I was willing to wait until she cleared out the line which by now had grown to about ten people. I felt powerless and reluctantly acquiesced. Another customer, seeing the injustice, tried to placate me by saying that the system is still probably down after the hurricane. I told her that I am not accepting that for a minute because I know where my doctor sent the prescription, I got the text, and Kayon d. said she had checked THE SYSTEM and had found my prescription at another location. I realize that she did that to cover for her co-worker. OK, so I waited until all of the customers had been served and at that point I thought that surely, they would give me service. Instead I watched as Kayon D. made an attempt to converse (RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME) with the woman who had ignored me in the first place. When they saw that I was watching, Kayon D. took the woman all the way to the back of the pharmacy area outside of my site. I suppose this is where they had a conversation about the incident, I do not know in what way, whether it was a chiding for the woman or that they had a good laugh about how they had successfully mistreated me. I do know though that this whole negative experience could have been avoided if the woman had not decided to be racist and rude and treat me as if I was not even there. And what made matters worse, Kayon D insulted my intelligence by telling me that my prescription was not there and belittled me by having me to wait until she cleared out the store. I am hoping that something will be done about these two people. Someone should give them some retraining about how to treat people. I AM HOPING THAT WALGREENS CORPORATE SEES THIS. I really enjoy this Walgreens, I live around the neighborhood. I have been coming to this store since it first opened (resident since 2000). The store is always cleaned and fresh. There is always people and recognizable faces that greet you. The only thing i dislike is their pricing. I always find the same product cheaper at Target a dollar or two less. Worst pharmacy in town. Don't go there if you look remotely out of the norm or you will be denied your right to fill your prescription by Kayon Dennis . She is one of two pharmacist. The other being an understanding, caring and educated individual. This other pharmacist fills my prescription with no issues . He knows I work next to this Walgreens and fill my prescription while at work and not close to the cooper city address on my license . I do not legally have to do this as my doctor is located in Fort Lauderdale . Kayon is using a loophole in their system to deny me my right to fill my prescription . Stating that since my address on my license shows a different city I would have to fill it there . Obviously stating that I must be doctor shopping or abusing my oh so desired perception . The funny thing is i will fill this prescription at this location when the male pharmacist is working and not Kayon. So I recommend if you just can't stand when people missuse authority like I do , stay away or you may loose your cool like I did. Don't let her get the best of you just because she has a bitter personality.
