The actual store is well-organized and stocked. They have a small Kroger grocery section, if you need a necessity while you are out and about and don't want to head into a big store. I have ordered photos and photo gifts on several occasions and only once has my order been damaged/incorrect, which was promptly corrected. They often have great sales on photo items (30-60% off), so definitely use the app and search for promo codes before ordering. The staffing is hit-or-miss with both promptness and friendliness. I feel like it is often one extreme or another. It is very clear from the reviews and my own experience that the pharmacy itself is the major sore spot of this Walgreens. Having twin kindergarteners who bring home every germ imaginable, we have been here numerous times for prescriptions in addition to flu and COVID shots/boosters. The first time I brought my three young kids for their shots, making the appointment two weeks in advance. We arrive and after waiting 45 minutes, they tell us that they did not have any kid vaccines thawed for use. What was the point of my appointment that could have been referenced and prepped for in advance? We returned a year later for the booster shots, also having made appointments weeks in advance. I even called ahead to ensure they had vaccines thawed and ready. When we arrive, they lost the paperwork and we had to wait a half hour for them to print it so we could fill it out again. We waited another 45 minutes (1 hr 15 past our appointment time) to be seen. The nurse administering the shots was patient and efficient, I just wish they had seen us at our appointment time so that we didn't have (too much) time for our kids to get their nerves worked up. The wait at this pharmacy is always brutal and they are often disorganized upon pickup. They have lost our prescriptions on two occasions and often forget to give us the spoons/droppers, etc. to administer the meds. I have never encountered as many disgruntled pharmacy patrons as at this location. We will likely switch to a different pharmacy for med needs in the new year. read more

Made an appointment for a vaccination... there were 2 people ahead of me in the check-in line when I arrived. It took more than a half an hour to get checked in while the line grew longer and longer. More people gave up and left than those who stayed. There is only one person checking folks in. Walgreens! Did you know you advertise you give vaccinations and the shots arrived and people would come? Did you NOT PLAN staff accordingly???? This Walgreens has been recently renovated to include a Kroger Express. Even in the midst of a virus pandemic, the place was clean and fully stocked. If they had a parking lot that was less chaotic, I'd give them a 5 star review. I recommend you park away from the door a bit and back in if possible. Otherwise, check your blindspots and be patient. read more

I really like this Walgreens. I just witnessed this staff handle an irate customer absolutely beautifully. I wish I could remember the workers names to commend them but they were working night shift and handled it so well. I have never had a problem here and I visit very frequently. I have just been to the drive thru at Walgreens in Oak Ridge. I would like to know who is in charge. I called in a prescription for my blood pressure medication on 12-7-2021 I dread going there because the wait is so long. I had one perception ready when I called. I told the person answering the phone at the store that I would pick up all three meds at the same time. Walgreens called me today saying that my prescriptions were ready for pick up. I waited patiently in a long line of traffic for over 30 minutes. Finally at the window they said there was only one prescription ready and that it would take 15 minutes to fill. That I would have to get out of line and go to the back of the line. I said no. I have already waited over 30 minutes. They said that I had to get out of line and wait all over again. I explained that I was called to come down and that all prescriptions were ready. Otherwise I would not have come. Then over the time of 15 minutes different ones came over to make me get out of line with out my prescriptions. Next this female came over and started screaming at me to move out of line or she would call the sheriff. For a mistake that they initiated. Then this same female with no badge came with my prescriptions snapping at me for my card and slamming my prescriptions down. Then I said can I also pick up my son's blood pressure meds as well. Which I always do because he doesn't drive. She asked me what strength did he take I said I didn't know the strength that I could give his birthday which I did and his address the same as mine. She refused to let me get his meds. Out of spite now my son is with out his medicine. These people are not professional. I was bullied, threatened and yelled at by people who are paid to handle my health. This treatment is unacceptable. Looking for another pharmacy. read more

For the past 3months I has nothing but issues getting my family members seizure medication. It seems like they can order medications. Having 10 of the 60 and 18 of the 120 he needs to live a normal life. It is ridiculous that the pharmacist that are so intelligent can't do a simple task of refilling a medication! I don't know what has happened with the Walgreen's drive-through pharmacy. For at least the last 6 months, service and accuracy have taken a severe nosedive. I will get a text telling me to pick up my prescription and when I get there, the script is nowhere to be found. I don't know if it was ever filled, if it has been lost, or if it was 'put back into stock' as I am often told although I try to always be at the drive-through within 48 hours of getting the notification. I have one prescription that always requires 3 trips to Walgreen's before I can actually pick it up. To me, that is totally ridiculous since I have gotten a text to pick it up, my doctor has approved it, and I have several refills left on the prescription. What has happened?? Also, I often get notices that an auto-refill has been processed when I have not requested an auto-refill. I just cannot make any sense of what is happening. This afternoon, I spent ONE HOUR in the drive-through before I could get my prescription. A very simple, 60 pill refill. There were 5 cars in front of me in line--so what was going on that it took an hour to fill prescriptions for those 5 cars? If your 'window staff' cannot handle the level of business, then hire enough people so you can manage the business in a reasonable amount of time. I am so, so disappointed in what I used to consider my favorite pharmacy. I deserve better treatment than what I have gotten in the last 6 months. I have decided not to fill any new prescriptions through Walgreen's and am transferring all of my current prescriptions to Oak Ridge Pharmacy. read more

Better photo lab programming would be beneficial here for sure. Forced choices for artsy-fartsy borders are not what I expected from a new program. People walk back and forth behind the photo lab customer. There is little privacy while managing photos. The glare from overhead lighting contributes to a not so pleasant experience while trying to view one's own photos downloaded into the kiosk. An overhead light glare cover on 3 sides over the top of the kiosk might be helpful but there isn't one at all. It is difficult to manage photos on a screen accurately with glare interfering with viewing what picture is one the screen. There is not a tutorial program for customers to use before risking their money on photo print jobs. On another note, however, I have experienced good customer service behavior and attitudes from those who have been involved with assisting me. We have been a customer of Walgreens for many years. While visiting family in East Tennessee my baby girl (17 months old) became sick. We were up all night with a coughing, rash-ridden, crying baby and went to Oak Ridge Walgreens on Monday evening to pick up some Benedryl. My wife was absolutely exhausted, but went to ask the pharmacist some questions about how much Benedryl was safe for a 17 month old. He seemed a bit clueless but eventually we figured out the dosage. My wife went to the front register to buy the medicine and some snacks, and accidentally pulled out our CVS card. She immediately realized it was the wrong card and said, "Oh, I guess I can't use this one." Before she could put it back in her wallet and take out the Walgreens card, the clerk grabbed the card and said, "Hey, ______... we can't take this can we?" Then he laughed. The other clerk (several registers over) laughed and yelled back, "Nope!" They proceeded to continue belittling my wife (with another employee -- a female clerk) joining in. Again, my wife was exhausted and fragile, but being publicly embarrassed was not something she expected or deserved. After the incident, she initially couldn't find her Walgreens card, and the clerks were refusing to give her the discount even if she signed up for a new Walgreens card. She was nearly frustrated and embarrassed enough to walk out, but finally found her Walgreens card and presented it to the clerk. She came out of the store in tears. I nearly went inside to confront the employees but my wife asked me to forget it. "But I will never, ever shop at a Walgreens again!" she said. Two days later and she's still saddened by the situation, and I am even more angry. There are other places to shop where you will be treated much better with a better product selection and lower prices. read more

This is the worst pharmacy to do business at. They are the only pharmacy that can make my 5 month olds heart medication and they make sure I know it. Customer service is a foreign concept to this bunch of Neanderthals. The automatic call in phone service doesn't synch with the staff, so even if the phone service tells you a prescription is being filled, that may not be the case. You won't know until you get to the pharmacy. Also, partial refills are the norm for some medications, so you get to go back twice for the same prescription. The pill bunnies doing your refills could care less, especially the hipster douchette working the drive thru on 10/20/18. I just changed to another pharmacy, you should too. I've used this place for years, but I have noticed the past few times I have been here it has gone down hill quickly. The store part is always nicely organized and stocked. The only issues is the pharmacy. The second to last time we went, I sent my husband to pick up my prescription because I was very sick and they said they didn't have anything for me. I got in the car and drove down there and was there about 5min later and they had it . Last time I went there the drive through window was so dirty that I could barely see the girl I was talking to and the speaker didn't work so I couldn't hear a word she was saying. I'm 23. I would said it is just about impossible for an elderly person to use the drive through. read more

The Oak Ridge Walgreens has been an OK place to patronize much of the time. They clearly pay little and you get what you pay for or better at times. Lately their photo finishing improved somewhat after installing the modern photo finishing machine. I have found to walk-in clinic above average. read more

We went to the pharmacy to pick up my testosterone rx at around 9:30pm and spoke to Marc. There was one customer ahead of us (which is fine) and Marc was very friendly with her, chatting and joking. When we walked up to the counter, his demeanor completely changed. He was surly and rude and barely interested in what we had to say. He told us flatly that there was no refill on my medicine, and when we explained that there should be a partial refill, and he saw that we were right, he seemed even angrier. When we asked for injection needles and tried to give him a note I'd written detailing what we needed, he just walked away. When I asked what the length was, he didn't answer, and just held up the needle for me to see. When I told him I needed a longer needle he seemed even more annoyed and said this was the longest one they had in that size. When I asked him for a larger size at the correct length, he was still more annoyed. This isn't the first time someone's had trouble with my rx, but this is the rudest anyone's been to us about it. We will be changing pharmacies and I will be warning my trans and gay friends about this one. read more

I took back a blood pressure cuff because it didn't work. I was forced to accept a gift card for $16 of the $41.00 price because of "points." I need a BP cuff, but I will have to buy it elsewhere, because all Walgreen's carries is their own brand. read more

On more than one occasion I have called, emailed or sent a message that I need medication. I receive a phone call from a machine that says my prescription is ready and when I drove down to get the medicine I have been told that either it is not ready or they need a doctors ok. Today when I made a special trip down to the Oak Ridge Store I was told that they had sent a fax to the doctor over a week ago and they (walgreens) have not heard back from the doctor. I know for a fact that they doctor was in his office several times. The drug store is understaffed, not very polite and I get the feeling they just don't care about who is spending money in the store. Are there more than one drug store in OaK Ridge? read more
