On Saturday, I visited the pharmacy on 101 Allen Toussaint Blvd to pick up my prescriptions, but found a sign stating the pharmacist was unavailable. The posted pharmacy hours on the window were inaccurate. When I returned on Sunday at the listed time, the pharmacy was still closed. Inside, I was told, rather abruptly, that they open at 10:00 am, not 9:00 am as posted, and was told to wait. After waiting for the drive-through to open, a staff member gave me one prescription and dismissed my inquiry about the other, stating, "This isn't my usual store. I'm just helping out," before turning away. This experience did not reflect your core value of commitment to customers and pharmacy expertise. If I were elderly or lacked transportation, this would have caused even greater hardship. As a result, I have transferred my prescription to another Walgreens location. While I know my individual business may not impact your company, I strongly recommend additional staff training in sensitivity and customer service. Every customer should feel valued and respected. Racist towards white people. Pharmacy tech told me to come back in an hour for my son's Tamiflu. I came back an hour later and she argued with me saying that she told me 4-5 hours later. My son (1yr old) is in the back of the car screaming with the flu. After arguing with me that they're out of stock and she can't transfer the prescription to another location in stock because they "won't answer the phone" she walks off without saying anything for 5 minutes and COMES BACK WITH HIS FILLED PRESCRIPTION. Seriously, blood thinners for my mechanical heart valve. Told me to get the F**** out of the store. Every time I come, it is close to an hour wait, especially if there is one car in line in front of me. They are literally always understaffed. I am switching pharmacies, and I have been coming to this one since 2001. It is easier for me to unpack my children and go into a Walgreens that does not have a drive-through, then to waste close to an hour at this pharmacy every time I need to come. Oh, and half the time my prescription order is either messed up or not filled even though they texted me that it was filled. I'm done. I got discharged from surgery, my wife drove me To pick up my Rx, and they said they needed an ID before they could fill it, notice I said fill it, not pick it up. They made up their own rule, so after surgery I had to wait in the car for 45 mins because I also needed to present my ID to pick up the Rx. Ridiculous, that you have to constantly pester them like children to fill your prescription. It felt like they had the mentality that they were hoping I wouldnt just go pick it up. read more

Extremely slow service with the pharmacy. When I arrived, there were 3 people in front of me in line and it took me 25 minutes to get to the counter. When I left, there were 7 people behind me. I've been going to this Walgreen's for decades, and it has changed quite a bit since my last review. In fact my last review brought down the top management from the Corporate Headquarters, hence accommodations were awarded to Ms. Lanci, the former manager of the West End Store. Ms. Lanci, was given charge of (4) Walgreen's stores and her staff was given accolades and awards. I agree wholeheartedly with Patricia, thus Walgreen's has everything that comes on TV, all the small things you need right away, and, if you can't make it to the market or a store, Walgreen's has it. It is great store indeed. My experience with this store has been very very good. The manager of the Beauty department is Ms. Amy Montgomery. Her management and sentiments regarding the professional service to the clients/customers, permeates thru her staff. I have had Ms. Ruth as my beauty counselor for the last 8 months, and I am absolutely pleased with her professionalism and the respect she has for her manager, her position, and the corporation. Every thing I needed to learn about make-up, I received from the patience and assistance from Ms. Ruth. I also had the opportunity to meet one of the store managers. His name Lester Ricard. What a great young man and manager. You very seldom see a manger making sure His/Her store is operating in full service. When I asked for help he was right there. He's young, refreshing and an asset to Walgreen's Drugstores. We really need the professionals, the loyal, the customer oriented, and company oriented employees, to keep the store Nat'ually New Orleans Y'all. It is Walgreen's that's first to come to our aide in catastrophies and happy times. Let's show the staff we thank them for showing up each day to serve us. I'm going to start this review by just letting you know that it pertains to the store only, and not the pharmacy. I use another pharmacy nearby, but shop at this Walgreens for the usual drugstore products, and since I'm being honest, I shop here as if it's a mini Walmart. This is a well stocked store, and carries anything you can imagine needing from a drug store. They run lots of specials - as all Walgreens stores do, and if you use your rewards card, you'll find that the rewards really do add up. The staff is super friendly, and I'm always greeted warmly when I walk in. There is always someone to help out if you're looking for something specific, and they never make you feel like you're a bother. My favorite thing about the store is the Beauty Enthusiast program. I joined a few months ago, and LOVE it! I'm one of those people who loves a freebie. I love samples like nobody's business, and as a Beauty Enthusiast, you get samples when checking out in the cosmetics department. I'm pretty sure that most Walgreens locations are pretty much the same and have a similar layout, especially the newere stores. This particular Walgreen's has a great location at the corner of Robert E Lee and West End Blvd. The store was constructed after Hurrican Katrina, so it's a new location and everything is in good shape. The pharmacy staff is friendly, as is everyone else I've come into contact with. The best thing about this store is that it's open until 10:00 pm, whereas it's rival (Rite Aid) on Harrison closes at 9:00pm. read more

They may close 2 hours before closing time without warning "until further notice, sir" only after you have submitted your script for your child's pain meds, which cannot be transferred because it is a controlled substance so your kid will get to spend a night in a lot of pain, for no good reason other than the evil jerk behind the counter had better things to do than hand over the filled prescription... This Walgreens is at the end of an L-shaped strip mall. Being that this is the closest Walgreen's to where I live, this is where I end up most of the time to get those little things. They do have the refillable natural gas containers for grills or whatever. The cashiers are all friendly, the managers are helpful, the store is always neat, clean, well organized and the walkways are not filled with stuff needing to be put away. Parking can be a bit tricky and the lot is a pain. Other than that, this location is at the corner of happy and healthy! read more

Absolute worst pharmacy to come to. Can't stand having to fill a script here. The drive elsewhere is worth it half the time, you'd still be in line at this one by the time you have driven to a different one, gotten the prescription filled, and have even driven back home. Also, the manbun guy with gauges in his ears, he's awful. Does not care about his job, much less his customers. He has told me before that my prescription is not here, after arguing back and forth, I asked for a manager, 'all the sudden' he found my medication. Funny right? So ridiculous. Most of the staff is chatty and friendly - even knowing me by my purchases like someone else said, but there are a few that are so unbelievably rude. Amid the many negative reviews of the pharmacy, I can attest that the grocery here is always tidy, well-stocked, and featuring many sale items. I've always like visiting Walgreen's for toiletries, and the Lakeview location has not failed me in that regard. Granted, the pharmacy department staff are not impressive in the least. On repeated visits they have always performed extremely slow, and are almost entirely dismissive if a customer is just trying to purchase an item or two. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I was always under the impression that the pharmacy was also fully operational as a checkout counter. If prescription medication is what you're looking for, do yourself the favor and go to the Charbonnet Pharmacy two blocks away. read more

It has everything you normally expect from Prescriptions, new vaccinations, proteins bars and shakes, to ambulatory care such as walking canes and crutches. This Walgreens is detrimental to the black community. This pharmacy is literally acting as guards and are suppressing life saving medications. Diane Jones and Tan V., "licensed pharmacist", have attempted to convince me there is 25 doses of medication in a 2.5 ml/10 mg nasal spray. When confronted with dosage and calculations, I was met with obfuscation and the inability of Ms. Jones to get the correct calculations. Afterwards, they called the oppressors' guard, Richard Hilliard, an "assistant manager", whose job is to intimidate patients. There is no rapport between patients and pharmacist, just prisoners and guards. This is clear class antagonism, which extends to the Doctor's office of Dr. Wanda Timpton, who is complicit, by writing incomplete and irregular orders. Walgreens need to be regulated because obviously they have a bunch of incompetents running amuck!!! read more

My husband had foot surgery this morning. The doctor gave him a prescription for 10 pain pills and an antibiotic. Obviously my husband can't walk and I had to pick it up for him. The doctor forgot to write a number on the prescription. Instead of helping me - Walgreens made me wait for hours and treated me like I was a drug addict trying to scam them for 10 pain pills. They also wouldn't call me to tell me they couldn't fill the prescription. when I came to pick it up and they just threw the papers back at me and said I couldn't be helped. This is after they had me wait three hours to fill it. In the meantime the doctors office closed on a Friday. I was able to get the doctor's personal cell phone from the surgical center. Walgreens wouldn't believe me it was his number. The doctor kept trying to call the pharmacy on his own and they weren't answering their phones. They even spoke to him once and still didn't believe me it was him. Then they treated me even worse. I understand there's protocols with narcotics - but Jesus. Never stepping foot in this location again. We've had prescriptions filled there for years. I had my Id. All addresses matched up. Yet still today I was apparently a drug addict. read more

Walgreens PHARMA 101 Robert E Lee Blvd is AWFUL & it never got better. They're notorious for partial fills, & not following up to refill what they didn't first fill. You can make several trips across wks for one prescription, month after month. Twice I used a Pfizer coupon for an expensive med. The pharmacy said my coupon didn't work. However, Pfizer sends text alerts as soon as a coupon successfully processes. No, the pharma did not refund my 150.00 they collected & owed me. Daily @ 5ish, cars upon cars are lined, waiting.
