It's a clean and big Publix with a large parking lot so it's pretty easy in and out. I don't consistently shop here because the prices really are unreasonable. I check the prices against what my Walmart app shows me and literally almost everything is twice or at least 1 1/2 times the price of anything from Walmart. I just won't do it. But one reason I do like Publix is their constant BOGO deals. Those are really worth it if you keep up with them. They do have a nice rewards program as well- free dessert on your birthday and 1/2 birthday! Their bakery items are also pretty fabulous. It's random, but I love the everything bagels they make in store here- and those are actually a good price about $2 for a pack of 4! Of course $5 sushi wednesdays are pretty legendary as well. If you don't know, you need to find out.

Since it is on the edge of town the gas prices are usually the cheapest, or at least consistently the most competitive. This location is also clean and well taken care of. An awesome thing about Wawa- they have free air! For some reason, you can't find free air hardly anywhere at Florida gas stations to fill up your tires. They also have a pretty good rewards program. The upsetting thing that doesn't make sense to me, however, is that buying gas doesn't count towards the rewards. So I don't really get gas at Wawa anymore, but they still usually have good prices at this location. The next closest Wawa is along Bartow and Edgewood about 15 minutes away. I would always choose this South Florida location to go to over the others. It's just so nice. And for a gas station they really do have decent food at great prices. You go, Wawa.

I got lost on my way to St. Augustine (even though it's clearly marked on the highway-I know) and took a detour after visiting the Harley Davidson jamboree. A bright green sign luring me in with "Brown Rice Sushi Now Available" caught my attention and my little Scooby Doo ears perked up and I was hooked. I walked in, got some decent sushi, peeked at the pate (which according to my memory, was pretty good) and reminisced living in the south and loving cooking at home because of all the awesome finds I had at the local Publix. I bought a variety of junk foods to keep me fueled on my trip to St. Augustine and the check out counter just blew my mind! People in Florida may be used to seeing an awesome personalized checkout screen for them and the cashier but I'm not and I was blown away by the technology. Score 1 for Florida, 0 for California....
