They need to fire their pharmacy department staff, they are very rude and unprofessional, it takes them over an hour long just to pick up their phone, when talking to the pharmacy staff, they talk so rude and when you try to respond back they put you back on hold, if I could rate their pharmacy department it would be a 0, this happens every time that I have a prescription there for either myself or for a family member. read more

If i could give it a 0 i would worst pharmacy ever. Takes almost 24 hours to have a prescription ready. I was told it would be ready multiple times through the day. I would be advised it would be ready in an hour and it wasn't ready. I went three times to the pharmacy and kept getting told it would be ready in an hour. read more

The customer service at the pharmacy is the worst I have ever encountered. They must be perpetually short staffed because Rx are never filled in a timely manner. I am returning here only because this is my mom's pharmacy and she's afraid to change at this time. I have been coming to this location for some years to pick up prescriptions. Depending on the day, lines are often long. The store is cluttered, while employees are unfriendly and often invisible. The pharmacist often provides information and instruction on medication as needed. They provide a reward program that includes e-coupons to save customs money. It must be something about this store that keeps me coming back because I pass at least three other Walgreens before getting to this location. read more

Older black woman with bunched bottom teeth refused to ring up my order very rude will not come back

I had flu/covid vaccine appointment today for 5:30 PM. I was 10 minutes late and in the line for at least 10 minutes before making it to the counter only to have the guy say please scan the QR code to check in. I did that but it did not find my appointment. I showed him and then he called another guy for assistance and they asked me to step to the other window. He could not pull me up by name or number and I offered to give him confirmation # and he said he didn't need it. He then checked with the pharmacist who said they would put me in as a walk-in then he said it will be a bit of a wait. I said how long he said 45 minutes. I said what? Why? He said because you're 25 minutes late for your appointment and it must have canceled it. I said I was only 10 minutes late and the other 15 minutes was spent in line and waiting on your staff to figure out what was going on. I asked if there are other people ahead of me for the vaccine and he said not sure but we have other people waiting we need to help. The pharmacist then said it will be at least 30 minutes and if I didn't want to wait I could reschedule. No apology or anything. Horrible customer service and even worse customer experience! The staff at this Walgreens is horrible! I stopped by to get a passport picture taken and ended up being there an hour! I had to retake my photo 3x and wait each time for them to tell me they didn't take it correctly. They need to be better trained because either of the ppl working could get it right. read more

My second time to this Walgreens to pick up photos. A gentleman by the name of Eugene Helms waited on me ( also waited on me the first time I was in) and I cannot say enough about what a pleasant and kind man he is. Walgreens in Homewood, IL on 183rd Halsted's Pharmacy is the pits. Very poor customer service. Had my brother calling them day after day about his blood clot medicine and kept telling him they were out of his medicine! Told him to call another Walgreen's to see if they had it. So my brother, on life threatening medication, had to call around himself to obtain his medication. The Pharm Tech or Pharmacist should have called around to find it. Why would they add extra stress on a sick person? Answer: because they don't give a damn and they are lazy as hell! This Pharmacy needs to be shut down!!! Pathetic! Consistently the slowest, poorly staffed location. Pharmacy staff is hit or miss, either absolutely great or the worst customer service ever. The drive through is ridiculously slow, often taking over half an hour to simply pick up a prescription. Glaciers move more quickly than the staff here. read more

I frequent this location and today I brung my 2 month old in for passport photos. I was greeted by the cashier and another employee restocking shelves. I arrived to the photo counter and rang the bell for service after a few minutes. An employee arrives and asks if I needed help. I said yes, I would like passport photos. She glances over my daughter and I and says "For you?", I said for my daughter with a smile. She says while continuing to walk behind the counter and organize and read prints (I assume), "She needs to be awake for me to take her photo!". I told her waking my daughter wouldn't be a problem, I was waiting for someone to assists us before doing so. She continues to handle some things behind the counter and behind the printers. *several minutes pass* Another customer begins small talk with me and we both engage in "baby talk" with my wide awake giggly baby girl, while she and I both wait for the employee to finish her task(s). The employee then assists the nice woman that arrived after me. After completing the transaction, she continues to make sly remarks under her breath while preparing to take my baby's picture".....be awake!", "I'm not taking her picture and she's asleep!", and additional mumbles. When she yanked the white screen down over the door to take the pictures and mumbled some more, I politely grabbed my belongings and my daughter. I did make sure to tell the cashier about the incident while asking if someone else could assist at the photo counter before leaving the store. She apologized profusely and unfortunately no one else worked the photo counter at that time (approximately 2:40pm). Therefore I drove to the Walgreens down the street (West of Halsted/behind White Castles) and had a very pleasant experience. read more

Unbelievably slow and understaffed. Picking up a simple prescription can take over a half hour. Getting a vaccine can take over an hour. Always long lines. It's a hassle to switch pharmacies, but probably worth it. Shelves are also usually under stocked even before pandemic. read more

I'm sad to say this Walgreens had some of the worst service I've had in a very long time. 1st my special compounding medication wasn't ordered, then after getting notice that I could pickup, I get there and it hasn't been mixed. Because I'm on my way to another appointment, I'd have to come back. When I go back, they have it all ready for me but, when I get home I discover it's not all there so, I returned to store. again. They said my insurance didn't cover it but, nothing was ever mentioned to me so that I could pay cash or anything. They act totally oblivious to the inconvenience this kind of thing causes. This Walgreen's used to be great when I was growing up. Then they "remodeled" it, took out the liquor department and staffed it with unhelpful, unprofessional people. This fall has been especially bad- A couple months ago, I went to fill a prescription for my dad, who is older, and long story short, the pharmacy assistant put his $200 pills in SOMEONE ELSE'S BAG and let them take off with them! Seriously. She didn't figure it out until she couldn't find our prescription and then proceeded to keep us waiting while she freaked out. Her boss, the pharmacist, did not apologize to us, and did not offer to fill the prescription again until I said, "Look, can you just get us some more? We need to go." Talk about a fireable offense! Both of those people should have been let go. But even the manager did not seem very upset by it. If the person who wound up with the pills took any and became injured or died, Walgreen's would be liable. But I'm sure these geniuses wouldn't even consider that possibility. And let me also say that the store was empty because it was late on a weekday night. Tonight, I ran out to Walgreen's because we needed some more Christmas tree lights. I went to their Christmas/holiday aisle and I could not find anything but outdoor lights. They didn't even have a section for indoor lights. So, I went to one of the oh-so-helpful sales people and asked about it. She might have even been a manager. In any case, she looked at me dumbly and then pointed at the same aisle I came from in response to my question about where to find indoor lights. I said, "I looked, there are no indoor lights." And she said, "Then we must not have any more." No apology, no mention of whether they might get more, nothing. So, I went to Target and found lights for 30 percent off and no attitude. Walgreen's used to be my go-to store but not anymore. In general, it just sucks now and in particular, the Gov. Highway location is atrocious. They never have anything I need, their prices are high and the sales staff do not care. read more

Had two poor experiences back to back at this location. The pharmacy staff is incredibly rude and incompetent, except for one. The pharmacist couldn't even stand up to speak to me when I was in the drive thru. Additionally, they almost always blame "insurance" when they don't want to fill prescriptions. When I called them out for their stall tactics and offered to wait for my prescription to be refilled at the drive thru they called the cops on me. Rather than provide good customer service they would rather have the police deal with customers. I've contacted corporate twice now providing feedback on my experiences, hopefully they'll listen this time. Walgreens has lost my business indefinitely. Even if they were the last place on earth to shop for items / get prescriptions I wouldn't step foot in another Walgreens. I feel sorry for those customers who don't have anywhere else to go and are forced to put up with their incompetence and disgustingly poor customer service. read more

Very disappointed with the quality of photos that I received when printing a few vacation pics from my iphone using their Walgreens app. I printed 4x6 photos, and they came out horrible. Cropped the heads off (I did not do any editing what so ever, nothing cropped in original photo) and the paper was all curled up on the sides, super cheap photo paper. I was told from a photo rep that they switched to new digital machines (they could no longer do C-41 film either) and I am guessing the new machines are to blame. They need to either warn people when printing from their iphones that it will auto zoom in and crop or they need to fix it on their server so that it doesn't happen. Also go back to the better quality paper that you used to have. This cheap photo paper is like the kind you buy from the store to print at home. More so just disappointing that whoever was working the photo area didn't notice the poor quality and tell me, instead they charged me full price and just assumed I wouldn't notice that every head in each photo was cut off. I have to print 300+ vacation photos and will take that order someplace else, unfortunately. Not trusting my good quality digital camera prints with their new equipment. read more
