Typical that we've all grown accustomed to - as we appreciate its corporate standardization efficiency while resenting its soulless capitalistic extraction." BUT It's in such a terrible strip mall, surrounded by vehicular circulation and parking despite it being in the walkable, multi-modal, beautiful downtown Hollywood, that results in an awful experiential approach no matter how you come. Add on top the consistently subpar client experience, this place should be torn down and allow Hollywood Blvd to properly join the circle - and reduce the vehicular dominance of the site, and allow for better neighborhood-focused- and unionized-workplaces and community services. If I never have to visit this place again, I'd have a better life. read more

Poor customer service. I tried to get a refill transferred from CVS and they couldn't accomplish nor did they call to let me know. Walgreens staff had warned it would take a couple of days so I call 3 days later and the person that answered said she couldn't get them to do it and I had to call to get CVS to fax. Wow. There were great deals today online and Wilfranc was very busy with customers back to back but still took the time to help me check out my very specific special Christmas toy order for in store pick up. One of the orders took awhile to come thru and he still was nice enough to save the special specific gifts I needed for me in photo until the order processed. Downtown Hollywood location. Old Publix location on Young Circle. People loitering in front No one at photo desk had to go on a journey to find an employee. Waited 10 minutes to drop off a FedEx shipment on Friday. Tuesday still showing at Walgreens. Called employee states they forgot to have packages picked up. Don't use for FedEx if you need package to get to destination on time. In general, store needs an overhaul at this location. read more

I got my van towed,I have been going on there to this shopping center for 30 years ,I always the fact that Publix used to be next to Walgreens and then Publix moved across the street, That didn't stop me but yesterday I got my car towed from the shopping center parking lot because I crossed the street and went to Publix after I left Walgreens. Jefferson the manager was really rude They just lost a 30 years customer . Walgreens looks badly managed, looks like they will close the store. Be aware customers. This place is not a convenient place to shop but very expensive.They have eagle eye who watched every moved .The towing company showed me a pic of me going to Publix so they called the towing company. Wow 4 years since last review and probably the last time I visited this location. Things are not much better than than probably worst now that most of the shopping plaza is unoccupied. It seems dirty on the outside but Inside the store is clean. I came as I had a return on one of their own private label items that was not used however bought at a different location. So they kindly gave me a store credit. I truly do not see me coming back to this location to use it. Especially after dark I have enough problems. I don't have to look for more coming here and something happening to my person or vehicle in this area. The store is pleasant enough the problem is anything they carry I can get some where else. This week she asked me if my son who has AUTISM was "Okay? With a rude look on her face infront of an entire line of people... Because he stimmed infront of her for 2 seconds. She's told me I need to get a job? She told me I need to get rid of my son's pacifier. I just think she needs to be spoken too on what's appropriate to say to customers. All allegedly, there's a store lead at this young circle Walgreens named Eunice who without fail is nasty and unprofessional every single time. She talks to customers like they're trash, which seems to be a self reflection, and approaches the situation when she's called up front with a bad attitude. She is representing a multi-million dollar corp, Walgreens, yet shows NO RESPECT for the Walgreens name by the way she acts in their store. Can't tell you how many times I've been in line and she or this tall old woman with an accent working nights at the register begin having an argument with a customer then threaten to call the police or actually do bc the customer has questioned something or acted a bit rude... thats how customers are when you're in this business. The place itself always feels dirty and these 2 workers do not make customers feel welcomed. Will be taking my money elsewhere from now on. read more

Pharmacist is so rude !! Her main goal there is not to serve the public for sure. Made an appointment for vaccines and got there a little early and, instead of letting me know with politeness she had a very rude attitude, she went to school to be a pharmacist but forgot to learn good manners im definitely not coming back to this store. read more

The pharmacy here has the worst customer service ever! My doctor sent in my prescription early this morning and I went in several hours later and they said said it's lost in the warehouse to come back later. I went back a few hours later after waiting in line forever and they said oh I'm sorry someone was supposed to call you because we can't get your medication because it's not that common and since it's Friday we won't have it in till Monday mind you I have an earache. So then they said they would call me if they could find another location with it and of course no call nothing... I'm calling them but no answer! I disagree with the entertainment factor as it's quite annoying. When you leave the E.R. feeling better and have scripts (non narcotic) I shouldn't have to stand behind the woe is me, where's my percosets, tramadol, hydro-codone, this is impossible you can't fill it, I'll pay cash if I have to, dregs of the circle. Agreed. It's convenient, and you can be in and out at the front register for minimal goods. But will the grossly UNDERSTAFFED pharmacy stop quoting an hour? The Walgreens on Young Circle has the worst PHARMACY customer service than any store I have ever been in. Whoever is the manager in the pharmacy should be demoted. Three times now I have been left on hold for 15 minutes. They pick up and say HOLD over and over. I walked in the store still on hold and three people working were talking about personal stuff. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I had to go four times to get my prescription. They texted me to tell me that it was ready, and after I drove to get it, it wasn't ready. I went back again the next day and it still wasn't ready. I had already gone to get it hours after it was called in and they didn't even know that it had been called in. I only go there because it's the closest to my house. I can't wait until the new Walgreens on Hollywood Blvd. opens. Hopefully the pharmacy there will have better service. read more

I visit this Walgreens often only because it's convenient. Very entertaining due to the characters who hang around outside. Pharmacy turn around time and staff is decent. General store amenities and staff is okay and like any other Walgreens for the most part. Parking is a hassle at times but this is typical of most downtown locations. Overall, it's okay. read more

If you have an array of prescriptions, some controlled substances, the majority not, the pharmacy technician will tell you that your prescriptions will be ready in sixty to ninety minutes. As an experienced pharmacy technician who has put in years of practice in both my father's and uncle's retail pharmacies, I can tell you emphatically that the average prescription takes about five minutes to fill. Specifically it takes about two minutes to refill a prescription as the pharmacist enters the prescription number and, after some cursory checks like drug interactions (which are summarily ignored because the doctor ordered the drugs and the pharmacy is in the business of maximizing its prescription count,) the prescription label prints out, it is pasted on the vial, and the vial is filled with the requisite medication. A simpleton could perform this job. New prescriptions are a little more complex. Particularly with a new patient, the pharmacist must collect the BIN number (it's on the insurance card and it represents the entity to be billed,) the PCN or processor control number which defines a sub-plan within the billed entity, and perhaps a few other parameters. Beyond the insurance card the pharmacist collects the patient's first and last name, gender, and date of birth. Exceptional insurance scenarios may call for the entry of more esoteric data and this is where a seasoned pharmacy veteran earns his or her keep. The current edict favors not filling the prescription per se but rather billing it correctly. Pharmacies make, per prescription, the cost of the drug (the cost is known to the insurance company) plus a two dollar fee. Sometimes the reimbursement rate is even less. With this pathetic profit margin it's obvious that the only way a pharmacy can make money on third party (insurance) prescription is through volume. There is another source of revenue - sticking it to "cash" customers - customers who do not have medical insurance. The pharmacy can and does make up an exorbitant price and unless the customer shops around, the customer is stuck paying the exorbitant price. This brings me to Walgreens. Walgreens is utterly indifferent to cash paying uninsured customers. They have no empathy and their edict telegraphs the message "fuck you." Their "savings" card requires that you advance them twenty dollars based on the promise of future savings. Walgreens puts its customers interests last. When I was discharged from the hospital last fall after breaking my leg in two locations and while walking with a walker, Walgreens refused to fill my narcotic prescription. They lied and said that they were out of the prescribed medication. [As an aside, no pharmacy ever runs out of hydrocodone or oxycodone; they are supplied in bottles of one thousand.] They further lied by saying that it is illegal for them to call other Walgreens to see who might have the medication in stock. This necessitated my having to travel from store to store, six stores in all, by taicab, with my walker, before I was able to get my prescription filed. While the pharmacists job is to weed out sketchy and below board prescriptions, how many bona-fide surgical patients have to suffer to meet some corporate edict? Walgreens, from you condescending attitude when it comes to controlled substances to your usury rapacious prices, you should be ashamed of yourself. Your corporate management is incompetent and your stores are no longer deserving of my or any other persons' business. BE ADVISED: DON'T SHOP AT OR PATRONIZE WALMART.
