Not to mention the amazing support they show for the local market--they sell muffins, cookies and other baked goods made by local people, and always have a few CDs from local bands (which Harrisonburg has no lack of!). Also, there's usually a bulletin board up displaying events happening in the area like live music, farmers markets, yard sales and things of this nature. More importantly, and the reason I am writing this review, is that Midtowne Market stocks an ever changing selection of unusual/hard to find beers. They stock Rouge Ales, Bell's Beer (a good brewery from Michigan), and many other brands that you will be hard pressed to find without a trip to Northern Virginia. Finally, note that their selection is ever changing, so on a positive note there will usually be something new to try, but on a negative note, you might find your new favorite beer only to have it disappear the next time you visit. It's not perfect, but it's a refreshing change from the usual beers sold at supermarkets elsewhere.

My favorite item purchased is the waterproof phone pouch (with snaps- not the pesty plastic top with tabs). There are lots of new items since my last visit. It looks like Homegoods, Nordstrom, Bass Pro Shop, It's Sugar, Pottery Barn, Dollywood & Crate and Barrel had a shopping summit.

We walked 45 feet out the adjacent exit and ate the banana right outside the slider door so I didn't have to have an empty banana peel stuffed somewhere in the car for the next several hours. It was black to the core on the inside halfway down the banana, like the kind of black you don't keep eating, not just a surface bruise. Since it was clearly bad and it was ONE MINUTE after I bought the banana, I figured they'd be like - no problem, we'll make it right, it's a $0.55 banana. So we walked right back to the same cashier who had sold us that single banana one minute prior and showed him the black banana and asked if I could just get a replacement banana and he said it was too late. One minute, black banana, same guy. $0.55! So yeah, that's absolutely nuts. Do better, Buc-ees. That's really messed up. I was really looking forward to a banana.

Once finished in there I came out into the store area and then decided I should grab something eat. I tapped on the screen and got myself a quick breakfast. Paid and just waited for my food to be prepared. Not being in a rush I opted to eat in house which is rare for me in a Sheetz. I moved into the dining area and was the only one in there for the duration of my meal. I'm impressed with the setup in here as they took the customer experience into account. Each seating area had access to an outlet that included USB charging ports. Napkin dispensers within reach of everyone. Television on a channel to give some background noise for the dining area. The food was exactly what I needed for a breakfast. The fried things were a bit too greasy, but I knew that was going to happen. The breakfast sandwich was a usual go to for me at a Sheetz. While I ate more food I did some people watching from the window seat I had. Sheetz draws some crazy characters. Once I was done, threw my trash away and back outside I went. Leaving the lot was as crazy as the street grid. Traffic light was located right at the one entrance to the lot which made it a bit hard to form a line of any kind for vehicles exiting.

Not just with vehicular traffic, but with foot traffic and bikes. There were a few out front while people were rummaging inside and dining. I made my way in and headed for the facilities. They were in order and a breeze to use. Came back out to grab a drink and snack for the road. I then got in line, bypassed the self checkouts to get an item from behind the counter. The staff here were kind of fun. They kept it moving though. Having gotten my items I headed back outside to try and get out of this lot. With the amount of customers here, it can take some time to get out of your spot. Not only that, it may take some time to get on the road in the direction you need to go. This is a very busy intersection and you do need to be careful when exiting.
