A very quick stop to hit the ATM in the lobby area. Definitely pleasant - this store is in very good condition. Well stocked and laid out like just about every other Walgreens I've been to this year. Once inside, you wouldn't know if this was Hartsville South Carolina or Burlington Vermont. But we're here in Harrison. Personal care, cosmetics, greeting cards, candy, over-the-counter medication and a full service pharmacy, photos and more. All the usual goodies. 0 stars Was told by my dr to get insulin today or go to the E.R. My pharmacy did not have in stock. I called multiple places and Walgreens is the only place that had it. My dr. called in in directly to avoid any problems, due to the sense of urgency. I personally couldn't get anyone on the phone over an hour after he called it in, so I just went. The lady there was the rudest person I've ever met. She had no clue who I was and said she couldn't see where anything was called in. She told me to give her an hour and she would look through her unopened orders and call me. I went home and waited 2 hours, no call. Of course, I was put on hold and couldn't speak to anyone. So I drove there again! After a very long wait with no line, I was told I couldn't get because my insurance wouldn't approve. I know is bs! After 30 min wait got that handled. Finally got my insulin, drove home only to find out, no needles. Drove back there (5 miles obtw) and same lady told me, "yea I know but dr. didn't say anything about needles so you can't have." I asked, why wasn't this explained? The same miserable lady (hates men obtw) refused to give me needles. She then refused to help me anymore. She got another lady to come help me and gave me my needles . I will never, ever go back to that place as long as I live! Obtw, never seen a pharmacist and never was able to talk to one. I could have died without the insulin and told the lady this, and she said she did not care. Unbelievable! It's astonishing the treatment I received from this place. Obtw this is a pharmacist and the drive through windows are so filthy you can barely see through them. This place needs shut down immediately! This review considers the Walgreens pharmacy only. Any and all criticism should not be construed as applying to the store as a whole or any of the employees outside of the realm of the pharmacy. To better serve veterans, Walgreens pharmacies has partnered with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs for flu shot dispersal. This is a great program for the vet who cannot pay up front and cannot drive to the nearest VA health clinic. His veteran, however, was turned away after presenting his VA card (that brand spanking new one with our ugly mugs) and disclosing his social security number. I was advised by the tech that the information was insufficient. When I asked what additional documentation they needed, they described a vague definition of a paper card with VA credentials or Tricare identification. I cannot interpret what the tech meant to say, but it was contrary to the VA's instructions (display your VA card). Needless to say, I did not receive my entitled flu shot. Considering that Walgreens receives federal dollars from this partnership with the VA, I feel robbed as a taxpayer as well as a veteran. Not sure why I was turned away, but I had a gut feeling I was being discriminated against, not unlike how Medicaid patients are treated. It's a subjective feeling to be fair and that may not have been the tech's intentions, but it was a very real feeling for myself. read more
