Downtown Frankfort is short on a lot of really basic things. A convenience store that was open…read moreextended hours was one of them. This shop has solved the problem. It's in a central part of downtown, making it easy to run to on a short break and they aren't just open week days for lunch. This shop really was direly needed and I'm happy to see it. The shop is small and they don't have everything you could possibly want but you should be able to find something that works, be that a drink, snack or even lunch. I came after lunch time but they did advertise lunches, they were just gone so I'm not sure what they offered. The do require you spend $3 or $4 before they will run a card transaction but that's not a huge issue, just something of note and they do post that.

It is easy enough to access though you'll be making a u-turn at a traffic light to get in and then a sharp turn to get back. Probably not ideal if you have trouble with corners. The pump area is tidy though there were not all the squeegees. The one I ended up using was in less than ideal condition. The receipt on the pump worked well and the price was convenient. Lots of variety in the store from the Beer Cave, huge candy aisle,to a fried grill. The restroom was clean but no soap, which would make it impossible for the all female staff to properly wash their hands. We are house hunting and pulled into a scenic area around Kentucky…read more It's all new to us! Usually, this being a regular fill up station here is something an individual can count on, but on this occasion. The bathrooms were terrible; both the men's and ladies. These are inside restrooms too! The store had ample staffing. As we made our way around the store it was clean and comfortable. The slurpee machine seemed like we should have waited but that freeze headache we needed . The selection of power and protein bars was nice. Great pick me up snacks. They had two registers open too. And we had to wait long time in line. These are not issues that bother us but the cleaning is an issue . The fact that the two team cashier could not do the job to ensure we are helped. They even had a friendly chat but it was just too personal. The team here needs guidance the freeze drink ended up giving us sour stomach later on. It sounds like this is a complaint but for the Speedway name they usually are top notch, this one needs some extra effort .

The good part is that the place is very clean, and the breakfast they serve is pretty tasty (those…read moreare good biscuits!) The bad part is that service is awful, and the employees act like you're a bother and that it's a burden and pain to provide you with basic customer service. They acted like I was a weirdo simply for wanting a receipt with my purchase. They said nobody wants a receipt anymore, so they couldn't understand why I was asking for them. Not wanting to give receipts with a purchase sounds really, really shady. When I wanted some breakfast, they had a number of employees hanging around but nobody could (or would) stop what they were doing to help for some time, and even after I made my order they acted like asking for a biscuit, some gravy, one sausage patty, and a hash brown was some weird order that they felt the need to comment on it being strange or unusual because I just asked for one biscuit instead of two. It's overall a curious gas station. It's got the usual gas station & convenience store stuff. . .and it's got a huge display of air freshener spray cans with Arabic writing on them, an entire wing of the place devoted to vape stuff, and a curious amount of Pokemon merchandise. It's a curious choice for a convenience store in Frankfort, KY that mostly serves civil servants and folks who are passing through on their way to Bourbon distillery tours, but that's what the place is.
