In the world of chain pharmacies- this is not done. One of the major chain stores will not even honor requests for specific manufacturers of generic drugs. By law, these generic medications are allowed a 40% leeway from the original formula. Your heart medication or seizure medication if generic, only has to be 40% as effective- and they are selling it to you. If that's not disturbing enough, these chains will switch to the least expensive (to the chains) every month. It's vulgar, dangerous, and dehumanizing. However, they typically put through insurance first and that may not be the best deal. In addition, there is a better price to be had if you use GoodRx. So be prepared before you step up to the counter for pickup.
