Initially, I was happy, but things went poorly very quickly. At my new patient visit, I gave Hoke…read moreRoad Dental my insurance card. I was told that I needed an occlusal guard, but that my insurance would cover the majority of the cost. I was given a bill detailing the remaining expenses I was responsible for. I paid the bill using my HSA card. I had a cleaning and a filling that went well. I set up a follow-up appointment for creating the mold for the occlusal guard. I went to the appointment to create my mold. That also went well. About three days after the appointment to create the mold. I received a phone call that there was an error in the molding process and I would have to come back in to have new molds made. Then, I was told without apology that insurance actually would not cover the occlusal guard. I asked if I could get my money back. I was told no, not directly since it came off an HSA card that it would have to just be a credit on my account. I didn't think too much about it until I received an explanation of benefits from my insurance April 24th (3 months later) that Hoke Road Dental is still trying to charge my insurance for the occlusal guard that hasn't been made and that I have directly stated I do not want. In the meantime, between January and now April. I had a horrible toothache and made the first emergency dental appointment of my life. I went in and was told by the dentist that I needed the guard and that "we'll do it for $200 forget insurance". I reiterated I wasn't interested. The hygienist chimed in that it was already 1/2 completed since only 1/2 the molding process was an issue. The dentist said again how much needed it. I again said no. The dentist then told me there was nothing they could do to help my tooth pain and "you'll live."

Review May 3, 2021 Beware! I feel cheated! Horrible…read moreexperience! If I could give Dr. Rani, DDS, Hoke Road Dental Care 7701 Hoke Road, Clayton Ohio45315 (0) rating I would. She is the worst Dentist I have ever been to in my 82 years. I received Unprofessional Service, Substandard Care and Age Discrimination from Hoke Road Dental Care. I visited her office to inquire about a dental repair, which could not be done. Being 81 years old and naïve, I allowed them to talk me into getting 4 Mini implants costing $7,200. Which I had not thought about, had no knowledge about. I think I was preyed upon because of my age. The surgery began late around 5:30 P.M. A tooth was extracted, and 4 mini implants were positioned in my lower gum. I had no family member with me and had made no prior arrangements for surgery. Under these circumstances an appointment should have been made for a later date, so I could have had time to think about it and discuss it with my family and get more information about implants. But the office wanted to secure the sale that day before I could possibly change my mind. No medical records were filled out. Also I later learned that antibiotics was needed before an implant procedure, I received none. This dental treatment began on April 23, 2019. I was in her care 20 months and made 43 visits, with no finished results. At my first wax try-inthe denture could not go into my mouth; impressions had been made incorrectly. This dentist began my treatment with issues. On October 30, 2019 I received the completed lower implant denture. This denture was terrible! Dr. Rani had trouble getting the denture to snap on to the implant. The denture felt strange; too big for my mouth. I had difficulty talking, could not touch my bottom lip because the teeth were so high. I continued to have issues dealing mostly with unskilled workers, being told to come back if it didn't feel okay. At one of the adjustments, Dr.Rani, told me to try some SEA-BOND for comfort and fit. And that people just put up with uncomfortable dentures. Dr. Rani is completely incompetent. My implants and denture is unsatisfactory; shoddy work, the implants are unstable, positioned poorly and had to endure 2-Alveoloplasty surgical procedures, gum tissue removed twice. She started cutting without injecting local anesthetic the first time and the second time did not wait for the gum to numb. The denture is disappointing; it does not snap securely into the implants, it's uncomfortable, painful and difficult to eat. Denture was sent back to the lab several times and at one time a new denture was made; all efforts failed to deliver a competent job. This Dentist, Dr. Rani abandoned me, didn't try to do the adjustments herself, she gave that job to untrained Assistants so she could move on to other patients. The owner, Mr. Albert Ramnath agreed that if they could not make a workable denture, they would refund my money. After going back and forth for many, many unsuccessful adjustments I then knew that Hoke Road Dental Care was incapable of producing any results. I then tried to contact Mr. Ramnath about our agreement, as of today he has not returned my calls or E-mails. Be warned! At the time of my service, the office was advertising $25.00 credits for reviews. I would not recommend this Dentist.

Anita was the second person to do my eyeliner and the first to do my eyebrows years ago…read more Over the years, I have referred people to her and even when I moved to Florida, I would return to Ohio to have her do updates even though permanent makeup is cheaper here in St. Petersburg. So it was with complete confidence that I told my mom that she needed to go to Anita to have her eyebrows done. Eyebrows were great. Anita asked Mom if she wanted her eyeliner done (I really wish Mom had talked to me first about that first),. Mom said yes and the ink quite promptly disappeared. Three attempts later.. eyeliner came off. The suggestion was made that Mom has a medical condition that causes ink to disappear. I checked out https://www.realself.com/forum/permanent-eyeliner-flaking which would appear to imply that no, Mom might be pretty healthy after all. Regardless of the reasons why this phenomena happens in the above link, I felt that she should have gotten a partial refund, at least. Maybe she could have gone back a fourth time but what's the point, really? I'm thinking there is none. My mom felt bad and I kept telling her after each procedure that Anita would do right by her, not to worry. I was in the wrong. I'm sure that she could go back every other week or so and have the process redone but it doesn't feel very good and why would somebody do that unless they enjoy pain? Since Anita's insurance company keeps track of her money, my mom cannot get a refund. This especially bites since she's retired but let's move on, shall we? I didn't know that Anita's insurance company did her finances and all that. I personally have USAA and all they care about is whether I pay them. I'm not sure they care about anything else, to be honest. I'll have to ask them the next time I call. The suggestion was made that perhaps my mother would like to have her lipliner done. Really? Like, seriously???? Why would my mom drive to Englewood and go 'under the needle' again for something that may or may not work and the only thing changing is her checkbook balance? Obviously, if I had known about the insurance company deal, I would never have recommended people to go to her over the years and I sure as heck would have gotten eyebrow and eyeliner updates done in St. Petersburg or maybe Tampa and saved a few bucks. Does Anita's insurance company think this sum of money was worth losing business over? I guess so. Sure hope it wasn't Geico. I like that lizard.
